Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Graphics issues are still very prominent (RR | Max Settings | DLSS Performance | 4K)

Yeah this fucking game is not fixed at all.

Yesterday i entered my personal house at the graymayne camp at night for the first time and before turning on the lantern i thought my gpu was dying on me, it was worse than i could explain with words, just an absolute shimmering mess, i should have took some pics, probably the ugliest thing i saw in this entire gen, other games when they look bad they just look ugly and old, when this game looks bad, it look straight up broken like your gpu is dying.

Oh and there is entire forest area in the map where the fog straight up lower the resolution of everything and the game look like i'm plying at 640x480, i could not believe my eyes...

Oh and the game still look like ass in certain hours of the day, they havent fixed this yet neither.

This fucking engine need a big overhaul, people should wash their mouth before talking shit about ue5 when this engine is far more broken.
And on hobo ps5 people are reporting abysmal framerates during the massive battles, so optimized performances my ass.

They will say ART, but FEAR has the same fucking recycled office environments. Boring as fuck.

And the best thing about this is - this game in 2005 was groundbreaking when it comes to tech, killing PCs like Crysis in 2007 and UE5 now. But everyone forgot about it.

They are going all out on motion capture for combat in Phatom Blade Zero. Love to see it, really translates to the animations.

Best character animations since The Last of Us 2. Absolutely absurd. As much as I love great graphics, I find animations just as important to how good a game looks in motion. Phantom Blade Zero is going to be the biggest game this year, except for GTA 6

First look at Metro 2039. Time stamped link. Looks bonafide next gen, super dense geometry especially on the gun, and lighting is stunning, facial animations were seen briefly but look really good, as well as facial and texture detail.

I know I am pissed off & emotional right now, but holy shit they're getting so annoying, just yesterday, they were literally calling Rasterized Pragmata as "Art Direction" (meaning it's the intended art) and the RTX PT one as "flat & sterile", and these posts get thousands of likes.

What's also utterly disrespectful & entitled is they do that pretty often, so it's another way of them labeling what's artistic based on what they like, not even paying attention to what the developer WANTED it to look like in the 1st place. It's so disheartening to see. It's like THEY get to assume how it should look perfect or "intended." The utter lack of respect & awareness!

But what we know for a fact is that Path Tracing represents the closest to artist goal as it employs more physical accuracy, which lights and shadows objects & areas with more accuracy, no gamey harshness & objects floating.

Once you get rid of CA, grain, vignette and motion blur, slap RenoDX with a custom preset turn RR on, Crimson Desert is the best looking game. Before I was playing with RR it was one of the best. With RR on it's just too good. Repost from the OT but walking there it was like CGI (screen does not make it justice but anyway)

What I find hilarious is not even the numerous false claims he makes (UE5 not built for open world games, i guess Days Gone 2019 was a hallucination), but the fact that the video has 250k views and a like dislike ratio of 99%. Like everyone has gone nuts here. Everyone. You have this game looking like utter garbage on the base PS5 where most people will play this game, and I understand, UE5 games in performance modes dont look all that great. But this game literally looks like 360p garbage in the 60 fps mode. Like dude, did you even play the game on PS5? And if he played the PC version, there is NO way he didnt notice all the issues we saw in the first few weeks. No way in hell.

P.S He's lamenting CD Project stepping away from the Red Engine, and 343i stepping away from the Slipspace engine. Do these guys even play video games? Both games were trash at launch. CD project literally spent $125 million and 3 years fixing that game post launch.

Large parts of the population can barely tie their shoes without a YT video tutorial. Don´t expect anything on an intellectual level in public spaces or you`ll just get disappointed over and over.

Yeah these effects are terrible IMO. To each their own of course and if you like vignette/CA/grain you do you :messenger_beaming:
And the game is already very contrasted by default, in fact I tuned it down a bit with RenoDX. Keep in mind that what may look over exposed on your screen is just right on mine, on my OLED it looks amazing, colorful for sure but not too much.

Those images are like 400kb, highly compressed given the res. Hard to judge for now.
Developers dont know how to market their own games. This was the first screenshot released by the AC shadows team:

Just look at the Metro reveal. A bizarre 6 minute CG trailer followed by like 30 seconds of footage in a tiny room. 7 years to plan a reveal and this is the best they can do. These people are morons.
 
Why they don't release full length ten minutes or whatever gameplay video instead of those few seconds each few days?

Konami is releasing their next gen baseball game in the U.S this July. Previously you had to create a tokyo or asian account to download it, and the game was entirely in Japanese. Navigating those menus with google translate was a challenge in itself but i got two full seasons in lol



Looks next gen compared to Sony's garbage franchise. And naturally Sony has region locked the World Baseball Classic mode which features U.S Players to Japan only. What a shitty shady piece of shit company Sony has become. They really dont want Americans comparing the faces of American players between the two games knowing they look two generations behind. Worst company in America right now. Even EA wouldnt do this.

The point about CDPR is especially head scratching. It was so obvious that their engine was buckling under its own weight and they were actively fighting against it. As good as Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk are today, so you can tell they're on the verge of completely falling apart and the games are held together by duct tape. If UE5 allows them to focus on the shit they're actually good at, then I'm all for it.

Witcher 3's RT patch added extra crowds in cities and villages and it completely killed the framerates. Even smaller villages were dropping down to 35 fps. Everyone says UE5 is CPU bound and earlier iterations definitely were, but the RED Engine wasnt any better.

But UE5 still doesn't have big open worlds, that's always the same discussion when it comes to that engine. Witcher 4 will be the first one I guess? And epic is going through a MAJOR overhaul of the engine to make it happen
