Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Even BF1 had destruction, not sure what these people are smoking saying BF never had this level of destruction before. I literally fell out of my sniper's nest in BF1 because someone destroyed the building I was on top of. Hell even BF4 had a solid level of building destruction, makes you wonder people commenting here did they even play this franchise here before or just bunny hopped on here because of graphics without knowing the selling point of almost all BF games.

BF never had this level of destruction? GTFO:

Levolution is all scripted.

The entire entertainment industry will shift so much over the next five years that any game starting development now, aiming for a 2030 release, should seriously consider what the status quo will be by the time it launches.

Also, page 700!

We will have better lighting and some more geometry

Levolution was a staged, scripted gimmick. Nothing like what we're seeing with the new BF.

I dont want to hear anything about textures and lighting when we're getting this level of destruction and physics in a 64 PLAYER MP GAME.

Even I am not complaining about 60fps here. thats saying something because i hate that shit
Whilst I love BFs destruction and would rather have this than having no significant destruction, I still feel a bit sad that we haven't reached a point where we can have true destruction.
The scripting of the destruction in this game is still awfully visible at times.

I want physics based destruction where a RPG or a grenade launcher does not blow the whole side of building and instead only blows smaller holes according to their explosive strength and then the building only comes down when it physically can't hold anymore due to the structural damage and the strain of the weight it is under.
Now I understand that in a 64 player multiplayer FPS in a map with hundreds of buildings this is probably literally impossible to achieve with decent performance, but if that ever happens it will be the true defining moment that will convince me next gen Battlefield games are here.

The physics look insane, not gonna lie. Is this havok physics or something else?

How is it scripted, this is all in multiplayer, not singleplayer. You dont just shoot the building once and it falls apart, especially BF1 you can aim at a building from any angle and only that part chips away slowly, until theres nothing left for the building to stand on, its not a one and done. I dont see any difference with BF 6 besides that it shows more particles WHICH IT SHOULD, considering BF1 came out 9 years ago and BF4 12 years ago. I think its normal to expect for it to be bigger and grander but to say BF never had this level of destruction, clearly never played BF games. It was literally their selling point compared to COD, just the same as Red Faction promoted that way back when. What you guys on about:

Even in this BF6 gif you can clearly see it explodes exactly a certain grid (3 floors at the same time with one bazooka shot).

It's literally scripted.

I will give you the other stuff, but levolution shouldnt count at all.

The previous few BF games were all criticized by the fanbase for scaling back destruction. I put in an ungodly amount of time in BF1 and the game goes out of its way to limit destruction. They let you blow up some bunkers, and i see in your videos those buildings can be shot down, but it was so rare i never saw it. You couldnt even enter most of those buildings. I know this because i have literally played hundreds of hours and the game constantly funnels you into these small corridors and alleys and there are no other ways around them. you cannot just blast your way from one building to the next. If there is someone above you, you cant bring it down. you literally could in BFBC2. Everything except for a few objects is locked down. This game is built around destruction. It's obvious from the trailers and the footage.

You can quite clearly see from those videos that the buildings have certain rooms, sections or walls that can be individually blown apart "dynamically", and once the building has been taken enough damage, then the frame of the building is animated to come down finally.

Is it fully dynamic? No. Is it better than in other games? Yes.

It still needs some gameplay balance, too. You can't have people respawning and virtually infinite ammo AND let players destroy every inch of the map. Every match would just end up the same xd

Well probably you didnt notice as much unless you were a sniper because one way of getting them out of their position is to destry their nest.

Man the launch trailer captured on pc looks way much better comparing to previous disasters, the marketing guys really done some splendid jobs to promote the game

First 28 minutes of Mafia gameplay maxed out on PC:

Yeah, it looks pretty damn good and like a proper UE5 game. More in the AA realm but wayyyyy better than the recent trailers we've been seeing. Actual proper lighting and shadows!

It will he as uneventful as Finals. Destruction is cool and all, but I'm not sure it works in multiplayer when you can destroy almost all of the map.

What?? That looks like a last gen game, what are you smoking? And can I have some? 🤣
It's definitely better than the latest shit they published.

We'll see how their lighting solution holds up in open areas with indirect lights. Indoor looks clean enough.

Characters though look last-gen. It looks like a sub-par Uncharted 4. Which is quite good, still.

Being UE5 it should be much, much better than that. Especially since the scope of the game seems to be limited.

I'm itching to buy it. Expect some screens and complaining later today and tomorrow xD

EDIT: I bought the game

Idk BF4 destruction looks completly pre-canned (offline processed) and played back cached in memory. Bf6 looks to have interactive destruction thats has a huge amount that looks realtime processed and thus dynamic.

Looks much better - crazy there's such a disparity between the consoles and pc

It's becoming more and more of a trend as the generation goes on. Makes sense as the console hardware becomes older (and apparently few devs care to actually optimize for PS5 Pro).
Lets not deceive ourselfs, ps5pr0 is roughly equal in performance(both raster and rt/ai upscaling) to lowend gpu in 2025, to not look far 9060xt 16gigs, 370$ streetprice in the US:

Yeah no idea why people are impressed by that specifica trailer, it looks better than the console version but hardly awe inspiring.

But i think yt compression probably ruin the iq a lot.

The graphics are good, its not pushing the limits but in general it looks good enough. I have seen other UE5 that look better though

They don't even care to optimize for the ps5. Most games are just last gen garbage with an upres and some added effects.

YouTube compression ruins the image quality as does for any game, that's no excuse for this turd.

The only channel to watch when you look for response in games. Here is a first showcase of BF6 destruction:

Sadly looks still very basic and lacuster, more than the spectacular trailer let me intend. Still better than previous entries tho.

It looked like a PS4 game to me too, but PS3 is an exaggeration.
This generation (UE5) seems to be struggling with graphics and performance.
Of course I'm exaggerating, where would the fun be without that 😁 However my exaggeration are full earned looking at those screenshots.

Ps5 Pro patches have turned into nothing more than simply a game that used the Pro devkit- whatever small resolution or fps increase that may give is our "ps5 pro enhancement".

When a game like Death Stranding 2 doesm't even have increased visual settings in either mode over the base ps5 (textures, lighting, aa, ao, shadpws etc) you know this console is an afterthought.

If people expected more than that they were not paying attention. Maybe if PSSR was better we could see a more substantial IQ upgrade.

The trailer is for the average Joe to think it's all destroyable.

As a game there has to be some limitations; pillars, stairs, and indoor walls are less/indestructible, so it looks similar to BC2 but a bit better. (I would prefer some the destruction to be smaller, it's more fun to chip away during a game as opposed to single explosion defacing a building)

So, Mafia looks legitimately great on PC. Again, not breaking new ground but looks very nice.

I will say though that it leans heavily on lumen and nanite to do the heavy lifting. I fear the console versions are indeed going to be a big downgrade.

The character models/facial detail are probably the least impressive aspect. Weirdly though I feel like the in-game character models looks better than the cinematics:
