Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Almost no comments from DF on the new Wolverine trailer other than it looked good, Alex complained there wasn't enough gameplay shots to draw conclusions, only thing they mentioned were improved skin shaders and stuff, and there might be some RT reflections.

They weren't impressed by Saros either, although they didn't say it outright.

I just watched Wolverine segment. Alex is a biased clown and this DF episode proves proves it.
 
Absolutely I agree with you, if PS6 is priced at $600 you can bet your money it'll sell slower than PS5 which would hurt Sony's biggest money maker in the whole company, which is that PSN Store, which can only be of value through their console, they can't put their Store on PC, it won't do anything for them over there when Steam, GOG & Epic Games Store exist.

I will say though, them taking the $600 route (and another $80 if you want the disc drive) is not implausible.
Honestly I am a big supporter for the Pro route- if done well.

A base 1080 model and a 4k model.

Unfortunately Sony seems to have screwed up with the PS5PRO.

There was nothing special to mention in saros other than particles, and particles haven't been a point of interest in a hot minute...

They weren't even as impressive as the particles in that famous scene of ds2...

Agreed, I'm curious to see to what extent they're using Nanite, geometry looks similar to the previous game and that was on UE4 as opposed to UE5.

Despite not really caring about the graphics not being the latest and greatest, I do wish Yotei had a strand hair system like Shadows. It would be a wild combo with the Ghost games wind system.
 
I know we haven't seen much from Intergalactic, but my hunch is that it'll be a jaw-dropper, from the clips we've seen the lighting, the geometric density, the animations, the character and shading looks really superb. I can only imagine what it'll look like in a full open environment.
It didn't look any better than TLOU.

I skimmed through every section of the video, and literally the only thing yotei does better is foliage cutting and in some rare instances, better art direction while galloping through the fields during day time. Everything from water, lighting, textures, destruction, snow, waterfalls, fog, draw distance, hair strands, cities, villages and volumetric effects is not just better but generationally better. Like its not even a contest better.

If anything, i can post screenshots from this very video that makes yotei look like a ps3 game. it is really bad.

And AC Shadows have few big cities and a lot of small villages. Yotei looks empty in comparison.

They will say that it's the region but... they have chosen that region.

I don't agree on that one. Snow in the ACS looks "dry", more like a powder.
And its implementation is more lazy - there is just a shader on the vegetation.
I also disagree with him on draw distance & distant variety of assets, plus foliage quality, density & movements, Ghost of Yotei destroys AC Shadows in those departments.

Tho it appear not to speak for itself since there is no real consensus.
Also I know that slimy doesn't like yotei graphics he said that enough for the last 15 pages. I found funny that someone took the piss out of him a bit, since his authoritative voice comes in huge part from the volume of his posts here (in my comparison Slimy is goliath of course).
 
Saros clearly is still WIP. Considering Returnal is literally my favorite game of all time, I'll be picking it up regardless. But i do hope and expect they have more graphical and overall game design features to reveal that separates it from Returnal.
 
I have no doubt it's gonna be the better game except for stealth tho.

Shadows was mid as fuck
Shadows, outlaws, Avatar, Alan Wake 2, Space Marine 2, Hellblade 2, Plague's Tale, and even Callisto which I liked were all mid as fuck. Callisto probably a 7 compared to the 6s that were these other games.

I think the only graphics showpieces this generation that i consider truly great games were SH2 and Wukong. Thats where Sony outshines everyone. Their games are actually pretty good.

Righ, so because someone has a different opinion than slimey and you(who let's be honest, get's off on having a negative opinion for EVERYTHING), they are automatically a member of the "sdf".

In MY opinion, Yotei looks better to me in a lot of ways than Shadows. Shadows looks dull and stiff to me in comparison, and outside of a few instances(destruction, water, hair physics) I think Yotei looks better.

In summary, grow up man. It's ok for people to have different opinions than yourself. It's what creates discourse and what SHOULD be a linchpin of society.

Because it's obvious to pretty much anyone. If you dig the art direction of Yotei more I completely understand, but we have people saying the lighting and textures are better in the comparison thread, which is just beyond retarded

how is it lazy and just a shader when the video clearly shows the snow interacting with the player as they jump, crawl, and roll. the only thing different is that they dont have snow dropping from vegetation which btw is something TLOU2 did last gen so hardly something next gen. It's like saying Ghosts is lazy because AC Shadows has sliding animations on the frozen lakes and Ghosts doesnt. just different priorities. Snow in AC shadows looks absolutely marvelous. its more than just shaders, the entire look of the same cities and villages is changed. its so obvious when you look at the transition at 25:32. Yes, its different shaders but the whole world is transformed compared to spring, summer and autumn. It also literally accumulates in realtime and melts when the sun comes up.

I also didnt see snowfall in the Ghosts comparison. Snowfall along with rain and other weather effects is sublime in AC Shadows.

its not beyond retarded, its just their opinion. And we must respect it and not call it out for being retarded beyond belief because its upsetting to their feelings.

Calling a game lazy when they went through the trouble of adding snow that accumulates and melts is hilarious.
