Gravity Rush 2 |OT| Mewton's Law of Gravity

Quick noob question about the base game, when I lvl up from main/sidequests does it increase my shifting speed as well?

I know it only says "gravity gauge and health increased" but if feels like my shift speed is much quicker now that I've lvl'd up five or six times.

I don't think so. This game ties shifting speed to gravity style rather than level.

So, any chance of a mod pushing this thread back to Gaming with a title update for DLC?

Finished DLC, great music, cool boss fight, good length.
Story...I stop trying to make sense of it...

So, it's like the latest chapter? lol

Does it happen before or after GR2 ending?

edit: nvm, just saw your post in the other thread. Slightly dissapointed :(

It actually give us a lot more lore about the world...I think...
I hope some lore master can feature it all out and give me summery because I just can't.
The origin of Raven I understand, kinda, maybe, sweet story.

Yeah the DLC was okay but kinda wished they answer more questions then just
the orphans case. They could've at least give an explanation on how/why Kat and Raven are the same entity as it is so heavily implied throughout the story and I thought when you were guiding the final boss to Kat she was gonna magically awaken and they were gonna fuse or something lol but it was just with Dusty.

Nice bittersweet ending, somewhat similar to Kat's sacrifice in the main game although not sure who the Sachya at the end was since it I thought it was implied Raven sacrificed her and her memories to save the orphans but eh.

Also the Zaza at the end is not Zaza, it's his grandson. Since he didn't go down the pillar, he got to live those 50+ years in Hekseville, and he already died (hence the flowers).

Probably the Sachya at the end was simply his sister, and he says that she was named after an imaginary friend, which I think implies that he didn't completely forget about Sachya.

Only on the second episode, but I have a problem with how this is tied to Gravity Rush 2.
They know Brahman is working on waking up the children, but have no idea who he is in Gravity Rush 2 despite knowing he was behind trying to wake up the children?

I mean maybe that gets explained later, but seems like a big continuity fuck up to me.

Not necessarily. Raven's actions effectively undid that whole scenario, so it stands to reason that they never actually got to meet the guy in the new world.

DLC is okay. Not special or anything, but not something to complain about being free. Explains a few things, creates a few narrative problems, and doesn't answer the largest question surrounding Raven.

2 to 2 and a half hours or so.

Finished the DLC. Pretty disappointing. Didn't really answer any questions, but actually made more. Raven isn't nearly as fun to play as Kat and the camera issues are much more apparent due to her spiral attack. DLC is roughly 2-2 1/2 hours. Can't really complain too much I guess cuz it was free. It's another reason to put in Gravity Rush and the
initial platforming section was neat as are the boss fights
. Probably 5/10

As short as the DLC was, I think they managed to fill in just about every gap in the story for both games.
For example towards the end of GR2,
the creators all seem to die and yet the world did not collapse. In the first game, Cyanea made it pretty clear that if the dreamer were to wake, the world would simply cease to exist. However this did not happen.
The reason for this?
It's because Raven became the new Dreamer. She inherited the world from Cyanea and created a new one based on a dream of her own. Towards the end of the game, it was also implied that humanity as a whole inherited the dream from her.

In the new world, she no longer has a past (officially), but is still able to exist because the debug software failed to destroy her.
She may have even dreamt up a new life for herself where she is so closely tied to Kat that they are now essentially more then good friends.
Thus leading into the events of Gravity Rush 2.

DLC wasn't bad, but not as great or as long as I had hoped. Best parts were the boss fights. Real inventive and tense, more like the
Raven/Kat mix fight from the Mirror World
in the later part of GR2. Not a real big fan of when and how it takes place as well as its lack of additional information surrounding
the actual end of GR2 and the fate of Kat.

Anyway, I really hope we get more DLC after this and/or another game in the series. Mainly because
Kat, Raven, the cast, and pretty much all of the GR universe brings a smile to my face.

This does make a decent amount of sense, including
Raven "dreaming" that Kat comes back at the end of GR2 since it's her dream and not that of Cyanea. Also allows for Kat to deny the darkness as opposed to the possibility she gave in and decided to live in a world of her own making.

While this can make sense, is it implied somewhere? (I possibly missed it since I was annoyed with some things in the DLC and that affected my attention a bit).
edit: reworded it.

Raven figma up for pre-order!

Check the deets here.

AmiAmi link: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-028972&page=top

And once again GSC has the exclusive apple thing. But AmiAmi's discount is just too attractive to me.

How do we get the new costume ?
Dark Angel Kat
, I think.
I don't find the downloadable file on the PSN like the PSO one.

Game worth 28 bucks or whatever it is on PSN at the moment? I played the demo and enjoyed it somewhat, not sure if I fell in love with the mechanics though. Opinions seem to be a little mixed.

Great, charming game due to the traversal and characters. Also rather lengthy as well. I mean, you're in the GR2 OT, so don't be surprised when I tell you to go for it.

It's just my interpretation of the DLC's story (and the series) in general.
If time travel was involved, Raven would've paradoxed herself out of existence.
But instead she completely rewrote their entire history effectively replacing the old world with a new one and becoming it's Creator.
It probably helps that she had the power of two literal gods rolled into a ball at her fingertips.

Where are you seeing it on sale? PSN showing full price here.
Probably in the EU, it's a part of the EU "Only on PlayStation" sale at 50% off (shows at £24.99 for me, not sure what that translates to in other currencies at the moment with the pound as fucked as it is).

Finished the DLC, absolutely hated it.

A super long, boring stealth/collection/escort chapter. Then a chapter where you half-blind guess where Dusty went and watch the direction some tiny ass particles are blowing. Then a bad control point chapter where the camera shits the bed any time you try to gravity kick a ground based enemy. Then a super lame final chapter where you wrestle with the gravity kick's refusal to ever lock on correctly and Raven's ridiculously high gravity gauge consumption to defend a pillar against endless enemies. And to top it all off they wrap up the story of the ark and the children with a simple "go back in time and save the bus".

Can't even say I was impressed at the boss fights, all you do is spam the rapid gravity kick while they block to quickly fill your meter, then throw a bunch of high damage orbs.

Question for base game which I think I'm pretty far in....
I just got back to Hekseville, at some point soon I'll be able to go back Jara Lhago right?

Yea, pretty shortly. And you've got a little while to go until you finish

Damn now I'm in my feels again

Just played through the DLC and I can only echo the sentiment that it's absolutely
dreadful as far as gameplay goes. Literally Gravity Rush at its worst. A constant struggle with the camera and sleep inducing stealth missions. Some sections had terrible performance as well, the slide section for example ran well below 30fps for the whole duration. My game went to single digits fps for a short time during the final boss fight as well. It's like they took all that has been criticized about GR2 and made it worse. Despite my love for the franchise I was pretty close to just dropping it then and there. I may sound a bit harsh here but I am pretty sure this is one of the worst DLCs I have played period. Ugh, gotta find something to wash the terrible taste away.

I really dislike most of the side quests in this game...Kat also controls terribly when her gravity powers are locked out. Some of the game design here leaves me scratching my head...

Finally wrapped the Raven DLC myself.
So during the climb up the pillar, isn't there incidental dialog about how Kat and Raven went down it? But Raven's actions in this DLC erased any reason Kat or Raven would have even gone down in the first place...

Also, how exactly were you supposed to defend the Ark? After it got blown up for the third time I just cheesed it with Phoenix mode...

The Kat of world 2 would've likely gone down the pillar for the same reason she did in World 1. In that she was chasing a letter or something and got lost for a few years. Raven would've likely followed her down there as well and observed the darkness rising up from the bottom. Cyanea could've also been waiting for them down there as well even though the bus incident never happened. The flying centipede could've also been their ride back up.

As for defending the Ark, I'm not really sure. I believe Phoenix mode is the primary method of getting through it, but it doesn't always occur when you need it.
There may be some method to charge it more quickly though, but I don't think the game ever adequately explained it for either character.

I came here to say exactly this, such a brilliant character and such a wonderful world but the missions are going to give me an aneurysm. For me, it's so much worse than the original game. I'm only sticking with it for Kat at the moment, the gameplay is making me genuinely angry.

I intentionally triggered it twice, but it takes a while. Some of the guardians are set to ignore Raven and attack the Ark only, but others will focus on Raven if you come near. At two points I just left two guardians of the latter type alive (to keep the former type from spawning) and just let them hit Raven over and over until the Phoenix mode prompt appeared.

Wow this really just came out with no fanfare.

When's it take place, or is that a spoiler?
Poor GR2. The game just feels kind of swept aside and forgotten. I mention it at work and people are like, "what?" Anecdotal I know, but I feel like it deserves a prominent place in discussion along side other Japanese greats from this year.

It's really a crime considering how wonderful the game is. Very few games develop one likable character let alone a whole cast of them.

Just how it is I guess. It's been 2 months, and everyone is drowning in good games. Even back in January it had a good amount of competition. All I can do is remind people of its existence when appropriate.

This was cool to see though:
