GTA 6 shouldn't arrive on PC until 2027, says former Rockstar technical director

I'm not surprised.
They tried to release GTAIV for PC shortly after the console version was released. It was a disaster.
That was likely a reason why Rockstar decided to put PC on low priority until console release and I'm sure we all are fine with that.

Seems like the PS5 Pro is the definitive machine for the rest of the generation, feel bad for PC gamers who spend 2k+ to play stutter shitfests and not get the biggest games for a couple of years when these games are relevant.
Lmao let's see some performance tests first. That 3600x CPU is going to be screaming.

*People are mean so I'm gonna troll because it's very important for me to defend a multi million dollar corpo instead of play games*

You realize that games (like Silent Hill 2 recently) are stuttering just the same on consoles? Or even worse if we take Jedi Survivor for example?
And also, you don't need the top of the line (that famous 2K+ pc lmao) to get a better experience than on consoles. So quit trolling, sit yo ass and start to act like a grown man (or girl, or whatever the fuck you want).

Just get a PS5.
Pro.
Or just play one of the countless PC exclusive?

They keep making developments longer and then say they "had" to make it expensive. Don't be surprised in the near future when some of them raise the prize 10 bucks and people still buy.

Funny how so many other studios with much less funding than Rockstar can somehow still manage a simultaneous console + PC release.
That’s because he doesn’t want to say the real reason: greed. Simps will double dip.

Don’t worry. I have waited 14 years for one of your games go come to PC. Waiting only 2 years for another, because you guys are scumbags, is not an issue.

Doesn't bother me anymore after GTA V, it used too, being an afterthought on PC in the noughties, but GTA 6 will be like V online focused and the single player will be short and sweet and unlikely to get any dlc i think, Rockstar had so much success with online in GTA V, why would they change it.

Ask me about my wife's perfect butthole
I’ll play it on PS5 Pro then again on PC probably.

Double dip quite a few games that way and ain’t mad about it.

Are any of those "famous" exclusives on the list?
You can look by yourself.

You know that I have nothing to prove right? I play on PC for many, many reasons, and some exclusives is just one of them.

The PS5 Pro might look like a powerhouse now, but let’s be real—consoles always hit a wall. PC gamers might struggle with unoptimized messes, but at least we can strip down the machine, tweak it, and push it past whatever ceiling a console’s locked under.

The real tragedy isn’t missing out on "relevant" games for a year or two—it’s being stuck in a cycle, playing someone else’s definition of what’s enough. When the PS5 Pro is outdated in a few years, the PC crowd will still be tearing through the future.
Agreed. But in a few years yes PS5 Pro will be outdated and PS6 will be round the corner and console will continue to narrow the gap ever so slightly. Majority of PC gamers don't even have PS5 or Pro level performance.

The personal calculator will cost $3000 by the time it gets an inferior version of GTA6!

Inferior version?

GTA V went through PS3 → PS4 → PS5 to catch up to PC

I prefer a feature rich PC port that flexes hardware with a variety of settings than just a straight port.

It was always going to be this way. Anybody that thought they would have a simultaneous release was dreaming.

People will buy it on PS5/XSX if they own one, people will buy consoles to play it if they don't have one, and people will also buy the game again as soon as it comes out on PC.

"Win win situation for everyone".

I remember when GTA V was launched and didn't run good, was buggy as hell, and the Online just didn't worked

I'm not sure how much time they took to fix, but maybe six months?! Still, when they did... GTA was never the same. For better or worse

In a post on X, Obbe Vermeij, a former Rockstar developer and technical director for GTA 4, hinted that GTA 6’s PC version might not be released until 2027. Vermeij further suggested that GTA 6 could sell for “10+ years” and face “no competition to worry about.” He also mentioned that Rockstar won’t release the game until they are “100% happy” with it, adding, “No matter what it said in the trailer.”

This suggests that while the console version might aim for a 2025 release, there could still be delays, as Rockstar has a history of pushing back release dates for their games. Although there’s no official announcement or release date for the PC version, it’s likely that, based on Rockstar’s previous launches, the PC version might come much later, as seen with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

These reasons are the EXACT same reason why Sony shouldn't do day and date with PC for most of their 1st party games. The logic makes perfect sense!
