Honestly, I don't like to say this because I'm a PC gamer first and foremost, but because of the hell the online cheaters are making of the PC version of GTAV, I'm glad to read this...
It bothers me a lot, but I can't wait to enjoy PS5 online for a while and have some fun before the no brains come and screw it all up with their bogus cheats...

What if they did? RS would not say anything in response, and people would still double-dip. When games are super popular, more people double-dip. Given GTA is one of the most popular games, it's not surprising they're building it into their business model.

If enough squawked about it, and media started covering it with headlines like “Greedy” or “Anti-Consumer”, maybe Rockstar would have to address it.

Seriously, though, if the option is to have to double dip and play one version in 2025 versus waiting until 2026/2027 for all platforms to release at once, I prefer to double-dip.

It was always going to be this way. Anybody that thought they would have a simultaneous release was dreaming.
People will buy it on PS5/XSX if they own one, people will buy consoles to play it if they don't have one, and people will also buy the game again as soon as it comes out on PC.

PS5 exclusivity deal and Rockstar's only got to worry about making one perfect PS game as opposed to 3 slightly different versions of the same game.
One of the Housers has been talking about making GTA a PS exclusive for years and doing it now would put PS5 sales through the roof.
Most of us have gaming PCs - Exclusives and proprietary controllers like DualSense are what make people buy consoles.
