• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

GTA V has gone gold.

I am so amped for this game; it is taking over my life and it isn't even out yet. At work, I randomly check the GTA V site just to see if any of those panels have updated.

Same man. I must refresh these GTA5 threads 100 times a day all day. I really don't know how I'm gonna make it the next 3 weeks, haha.

Fuck me I thought I was the only one.

Only difference is now, ever since te leaks started happening after the pre-load fiasco, I've managed to summon enough will power to stay off the GTA Forums. Neogaf and Reddit are getting checked on all day tho.

And do you know what the sick thing is? I can't guarantee you I won't stop checking obsessively after release. It has dat grapple hold on me. Never has a game consumed me to such a degree prior to launch. Its ridiculous!!

I'm too slow for wit of this calibre.

I am just glad Diablo 3 is coming out in 7 days on the consoles to hold me over. Free roamable games are always my first priority, but my collecting-gear-loot-items-armor geek is absolutely waiting for D3 because regrettabely my PC is not nearly strong enough for games.

Me too. It's going to get worse once the game is out in the wild.

Same, there's only a handful of games to come close but I really can't remember. GTAIV had me pretty hooked, but I wasn't TOO amped for it. I felt like I had other games to distract me then as it was early in the generation.

I'm mostly staying away from leaked info as well, and will really only focus on what R* officially releases.

I'm constantly checking this thread, and any other GTA related threads for any new news, etc.

Its bad, its real bad.

*raises hand* though I don't check the forums while at work since I'll get fired if do this but I soak up all the gta5 info I can get and I just can't wait for the 17th. I don't recall when it the last time I was so hyped for a game.

Same. I keep looking at spoilers threads even though I don't want to ruin the game for myself. I am weak.

This and Dark Souls 2 are the only games left on current gen that I have any interest in.

I just saw 5 minute trailer of GTA5, possibly opening intro that describes all the gangs in the game. All done in reality show style.

The baby is GAF and the book with the cookies is GTA V.

NO COOKIES FOR US YET!

It's not the intro, it's from the leaked tv commercials/tv shows. There were around 50 little videos but most got taken down. Just shows how much work R* put into those tv shows. Crazy.

Yep, likely a video from the "in game TV." Watched some of that, some cool new footage but the in game TV will also include pre-rendered stuff that never appears in the actual game play

Heh, interesting.

It just blows my mind... why would R* put so much time/hard work into that stuff when i bet most people won't even watch TV lol. I mean i LOVE all those little things and will watch every single little show, commercial, movie trailer etc. but i'm pretty sure most people will ignore it.

Edit: and it's not like there is one tv show and that's it. There is really TONS of stuff, gotta <3 R*.

I watched all the TV shows in IV and the expansions.

Great addition, I'll watch every last thing in GTA V also. R* attention to detail is incredible.

Oh god, I saw that. Funny as hell.

I cannot wait to just sit and watch all the commercials and shows that are in the game. I heard that there is a show in the game that
is starring Jack Howitzer from the Evacuator movies and its called "Jack Howitzer is Jack Howitzer in Jack Howitzer."

Because unlike, say, Volition, they don't take out details just because a lot of players never noticed them in the previous games.

Have they outlined the radio stations yet? I can't remember. I care about that a lot more than I care about the TV shows.

Not officially, No. A partial list has leaked though.

I cannot freaking wait for this game to come out. This game will consume the latter half of my college year. *sigh*

Cause R* is number 1! They just love making games. Their attention to detail and care for their games is just incredible.

Yes, gotta love them. Their passion for what they do is clearly evident, and is comparable only to the passion their fans have for their games. This game is obviously a labour o love on ehalf of all that contributed to it, and is also a love letter to their fans. It just bleeds it.

All that I believe adds to the overall atmosphere of the game world even on a surface level for those people who might not pay attention to it as much.

I look forward to IGN's review. After all the backlash of the "Oscar Worthy Dialogue" or whatever that BS was, I hope they are a little more objective this time around.

Is it on YouTube!? I must watch!

It's part of the stuff that got extracted from the PS3 files. It's basically an episode of COPS, only in typical GTA-flavor.

It is really, really good. Shows tons of new stuff, but all shots from "every day life in the city", so no spoilers or gameplay.

Unfortunately Rockstar is cracking down hard on these videos. I had one bookmarked on some obscure site but that got deleted too.

Not officially, but a ton of radio stations and songs leaked last week. Not gonna repost them because some people consider them spoilers, but you can google.

Yeah, I saw around 4 news songs on the GTAForums when they first started to leak and then I just closed that tab. I've always liked listening to each station without knowing what's on them. Hopefully there will be a station to finally top Flash FM and Emotion from VC, which are still my favorite stations in the series.

In the same boat. It's been a long wait for Diablo III and I will play the hell out of it until GTA V releases. Who knows when I will get back to it after that, though.

Really? Coulda fooled me going from San Andreas to GTAIV.

I can't think of anything they removed that people didn't notice. In fact, tons of people noticed, and complained.

But GTA IV was a new start. It wasn't so much removing features, as not putting them in. It was getting to grips with new hardware, performance capture, physics engines, graphics engines, production etc. It was a total rethinking of core elements, because San Andreas 2 simply wouldn't have cut it in 2008 on PS3 and 360.

It was a good game. It wasn't feature packed, sure, but it did come out in 2008. It was a technical marvel when it released, and a good open world game. It was a necessary stepping stone in creating GTA V, like Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 and all the other Rockstar titles than have released since 2008.

No. No it wasn't.

Those really are the best.
