Yeah I felt the same way. Last heist is definitely the best. It's an amazing experience when you have a great team.

So me and two friends are waiting for a friend in a heist-lobby, but he can't join because it randomly disconnects to singleplayer and crashes (which happens a lot, as you may know). When he finally manages to join, my other two friends are kicked because they are idle? So we have to restart the lobby, wait for the absurd loading be over and then play.

I don't get the appeal of online. I'm part of the Neogaf crew but what does that even mean apart from having the crew logo on my cellphone and shirt? All the events I join there's no one. Free roaming there's just like 5 dudes max doing nothing. I just completed a race by myself and won xp and money? What? I don't get it. Maybe when I play the heists with my friends but so far it's boring.

Fundamentally, I agree with you, I just wanted to point out that it does have a great 1 player story and that is part of the total $60. So you could say you payed $30 for an incositant online experiece and you'd be right.

What's the most effective way of making money in GTA Online besides heists? Any jobs in particular that pay good?
A Titan of a Job used to be considered really good, not sure if its payout has changed at all. I think overall, heists are the best, though.
When a friend and I tried out the heist for the first time last night it stuck us both in a white screen after the heist setup. He had to quit out of the game and then it started working again for me. When I looked it up I saw some people had mentioned it on the Rockstar support community so it might be something they're working on?
I got the story finished so now to work on wrapping up stuff and collectibles. I will start focusing on the Online mode now that I have the story done too.
For the community thread for planning and events I was trying to come up with a way to allow us to vote on stuff to come up with ideas or themes for sessions (such as races, deathmatch, heists etc) to focus on occasionally. Would something like a Google drive survey setup so members can see the link give us a fair polling of everyone?
You're just using the wrong cars...
I've been using semi trucks. You can of course push cars out of the way when up to speed. But from a standstill it's like hitting a rock.

Nah. GTA Online is what happens when a team fixates on fancy sounding but ultimately unfeasible ideas.
Everything but free mode is a mess that's tied together by a lobby system that attempts to emulate a persistent world. It just doesn't work.
I mean on one hand there are things like the phone, game modes that are placed in the world and the heist room. On the other there are load screens and menus, which are the complete opposite of that. Why would anyone want to waste their time messing around with their phone, or going to a location on the map to search for a game if you end up in a menu or load screen anyways?
They tried to make it a persistent experience, but it's just a waste of time.
Whatever happened to server browsers?

My gripe with GTA Online is that the game is inviting my offline friend.
My heist won't ever start if an offline friend is taking a slot for it.
Most of the time, I just play online by myself.
I treat it as a single player GTA with my own character. Jobs from Lamar, Gerald, Simeon, Ron, and Trevor are still fun (and most challenging) to do alone.

I think the scene was a good example of anti-fan service, or a parody of fan service at the very least, and I really like the narrative choice by Rockstar.so that whole Trevor introduction mission sure was something
why does Rockstar treat The Lost like shit since GTA4 lol. Wasnt Johnny the guy you played in the DLC?
So many franchises cling to characters for far too long. I like that there isn't too much from GTA IV moved over to V. Having Luis, Niko and Jonny turn up would have been really jarring considering Liberty City is on the other side of the country. The other cameos are nice and I feel like Rockstar really got it right.

Anyone else getting crashes on the mission "Pack Man?" Seems to happen 100% of the time after the police start chasing me.
What's annoying is that it takes at least 10 minutes to get to that point every damn time I boot up the game. Can't complete story mode until I find a way to finish it....

It's so much fun with friends. But getting anything working well with public lobbies is a pain. Races always work well.

I'll agree with the sentiment that online is a giant fucking mess of lading screens and terrible lobbies. Why couldn't they just make dedicated servers and quick instances for certain missions.
The game does so much so well but this really holds it back.
