GTA V PC Performance Thread

I don't know if this has posted(apologies in advance)or how accurate it is, but I jacked this from reddit

My first language is French. Here are the key points:
People expected the PC version to be graphically superior to the PS4/Xbox One version, but nobody expected to be so blown away with such a staggering difference.

It's not a Ubisoft-style quick port of the console version, it's been reworked thoroughly to offer an unmatched experience on PC.

They felt like it was designed with bourgeois (very high-end) computers in mind, but there are a lot of graphics options to make sure it runs on just about any hardware.

Runs "perfectly" on older hardware (Core 2 Duo + 9800GT). No mention of which settings or resolution though.

FOV is greatly increased compared to the PS4/Xbox One version (which was increased compared to the PS3/360 version). For instance, he could see the whole map when jumping in parachute, without a tiny bit of aliasing.

No element pop-up or clipping, unlike the console versions.

New lighting system with different light diffraction

Some places were radically redesigned, for instance the Playboy Mansion's pool which used to be a rectangle and is now a wild river, complete with a stream a cave.

Supports 3D and dual/triple monitors.

Supports the PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers natively.

GTA Online supports up to 30 players + 2 spectators.

New radio station "The Lab FM" with completely new tracks. "Self radio" station allows list to your own MP3s.

Rockstar Editor offers manual recording, but also always keeps a buffer of the last 30 seconds.

Rockstar Editor offers plenty of options for editing, such as camera angles, transitions, blurs, DOF, lighting saturation. You can also add sounds including all audio files from the game itself (including sound effects, music and dialogs).

"Director Mode" allows to change the time of the day, weather, pedestrian/car traffic density. You can be any character (human or animal) and you can teleport.

Sorry, about not replying earlier about the 970's. One of my coworkers goes through computer parts about every 6 months. I get his barely used hand me downs at a substantial discount. Been friends with him for years and he finds building PC's to be more fun than actually using them and gets tired of his setups quickly. He recently bought 2 titans, which I will probably get from him down the road.

Nothing nefarious or illegal lol

aww yeah didn't know this about the PS4 controller

I think most games coming out now natively support the DS4, was playing Gang Beasts last night with some friends and was having a lot of difficulty because I had DS4Windows running, which causes issues if the game natively supports the DS4!

Which driver is better for AMD cards? The latest beta driver 15.3 or the latest stable version 14.12? I never had any problems with the beta drivers but I recall there were some major problems with one of the beta drivers not so long ago.

Edit: Never mind, just read the post above. I'll go with the latest 15.4 driver.

I hope the built in benchmark is more realistic than the bench in IV. That one ran always perfectly on my system, the actual game ran like shit though, lol

lol just read the whole thread, now I'm hyped, seems they put a ton of effort into the PC version
Might get it now, or wait until I upgrade my GPU... seems this years games deserve new GPU hardware, can't believe it's almost been 3 years since I got the 670 wtf

i7 4790K
16 GB 1600mhz RAM
GTX 670
1 TB SSD

Why not? They didn't give specs, that could easily be running 720p on low settings. That hardware is probably capable of running something a bit above PS3 level graphics, and we have been hearing the game scales pretty well to different hardware.

I'll be running mine on a 660ti.

Hoping I can get 60FPS. I don't mind dropping some settings for dat framerate.

I can't buy this from the nuuvem br store (I'm in the uk). I have hola set up, but every time I add the game to my basket and switch back to uk and login, when I check paypal or credit card boxes to move to the payment screen it fails and tells me it's unavailable.

edit - shit wrong thread...

God knows how my GTX560 Ti is going to handle this. I might be buying a new graphics card tomorrow.

Don't deprive yourself 2 years ago that would've been straight for mid range but I moved from 460/560Ti territory to 7950 to 970 depending on which machine I use. GTA 4 is where I learned those cards couldn't hack it and upgrading is cheap just budget the new card and psu if you need one wisely.

Whoever posted the amd beta drivers link big thanks.

Use FlyVPN instead.

Got a i5 2500k (stock) and GTX 560Ti (overclocked) with 8GB Ram. GTA 4 ran like shit on my PC (had to reduce some effects). Anyone have similar setup on GTA 5? What are your performance numbers like?
