I'm not understanding how this is even a topic of conversation at all. It shouldn't even be one.

There are people across all sorts of races in the trailer, no one race predominantly sticks out, which is how it should be if the setting is representative of a multi-cultural area of America. The end.

"but it's a videogame" makes little sense here, Rockstar's games have always been well grounded in that sense.
It legit looks like Florida/South Florida demographics and subculture spectrums.

Looks decent. I won't miss it. Definitely getting a girl boss vibe from it though. I suspect 2026 is more likely. It just boggles my mind how long it takes to make a fucking game these days.

Location looks like fun, but they have been there already. I would like to see them actually go somewhere new for once.

Visually looks massively impressive and a new bar if that trailer is in engine/in game.

My worry is that it’ll be 30fps to look that good, and otherwise it’ll be 540p up scaled to get 60fps.

All I saw were in-engine cutscenes.
If we see actual gameplay and the density is anywhere near what was shown in these then I´ll be impressed, until then I´ll just assume this is the usual made-to-look-good (not to be trusted) PR material.
A lot of games had awesome looking trailers in the past....and often enough those promised muuuuch more than they could deliver. Granted, with the humongous budget this game has Rockstar`s chances of actually delivering what they promise might be a tiny bit higher than average.
0:22 and 0:33 are 100% in-game.
And it looks fucking astonishing.

Jason also looks rougher than in the leaks which is a good thing.

What's nice about the trailer is that technically it's, well, quite real. Whatcreates a real wow effect, quite lies in the canons of photography (that is my main craft) and work with the picture in general.

1. Rockstar has unbelievably cool, bright and color grading. Finally, the colors are coming back to media, not four shades of blue and orange like the typical LUt presets of big Hollywood.

2. Rockstar, it seems, wrote a dynamic glare system and simulated stars from closed apertures. This really brings life to a picture that is full of shiny surfaces.

3. The light staging is very clever, there aren't many sources if you look closely, but in the scenes pop and the frame volume is absolutely awesome due to both the palette and the lighting scheme.

4. The filters are incredibly and authentically done. Social networks, news, body camera, surveillance camera - due to the correct work on image degradation, the game looks much more authentic than it has right to be.

In short, it's always a pleasure to watch visual pros at work. Looking at the experience of the V, we have like 12 more years to admire it lol.

Holy shit ! I'm forced to finish GTA5 now. And can you believe it? There were people here saying this didn't look next-gen or that it would release on last gen

"Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet."
So Florida is named Leonida in the GTAVerse.

It's groundbreaking and anyone who doesn't see the generational leap (on that aspect alone) is out of their fucking mind.
Seriously, this almost feels like the first truly next gen game we’ve seen. I mean I’ve been beating off to Cyberpunk 2.0 path tracing and shit but this looks even a huge jump from there. I think the last time I had my jaw drop from a trailer like this was for GTA IV tbh

I really wish there was some kind of two player thing with this. My wife and I can cosplay with this game. She is even Latina and I am a white guy so this is like the criminal version of us.

Unlike other studios this one has quite a bit of equity but let me just say as an old man yelling at the clouds that I'm not really a big fan of the twerking and all that stuff being put on so I hope they don't completely cut the balls off the game. I'm excited because I'm a fan of the game in the gameplay from the very beginning even if I didn't know all the stories but depending on who it was handled they could continue their run with me or lose some equity. Not that it's going to matter because it's going to be a massive pit. This game is as Pop culture as it comes.

Sorry I am expecting politically correct woke humour

I'll play it on the PS5 Pro @ 30fps performance mode and then again on PC with all the bells and whistles and no sacrifices.

Can't wait for the Digital Foundry analysis of the trailer.

So far I've noticed RT reflections and that even that fairly small entities/objects (people, cars, trees, etc) cast shadows at obscene distances from the camera. Truly mind blowing stuff. The trailer is most likely captured from a PS5 and using FSR2, so that's likely the explanation for the lack of temporal stability and artifacts, especially in across hair, wire fences and the motion blur. The PS5 Pro should be able to clear all those rough edges.

Story seems rather mid and the song choice was like eating very cheap vanilla ice cream. But the graphics looked very good and overall it felt like a good portrayal of America in this decade. Hopefully the characters are good and R* doesn't play it safe.

I'm drooling thinking about what RDR3 will look like.

2025 can be here before you know it.

Good things come to those who wait. Try and act like you've been here before folks.
