GTA VI Official Trailer

Game looks absolutely insane. The world is just exploding with life, it’s worth watching a few breakdowns on YT for all the details. Post processing is incredible, making the CCTV, TV and social media content look super real.

I am so happy that the worries of this being a woke shit storm like Saint’s Row were unfounded, I think we can agree on that based on the generous amount of ass cheeks tits on display.

Hair physics are absolutely insane. The other clip too with the lady on top of the car.
This is one of the things that i can see receiving a downgrade.

On the other hand, if fucking ea can manage to have the best hairs on the market for 22 models in a soccer field, i guess rockstar can at least try to have that on a open world with hundreds of npcs when budget, manpower and talent are probably 100x times better\bigger compared to fifa.

I live in rural England too - and the original brains behind GTA did also. It sometimes takes an outsider to see the satire and the oddness in culture.

For me, this trailer represents a human zoo. It's PERFECT for GTA in the 2020s and I cant wait!!!
True. Can’t see the Matrix if you’re living in it.

Greatness need time.

We have other devs making inferior and less ambitious games every 1-2-3 years.
12 years. Sorry, I'm not having it. They leaned back and watched the millions pour in for way too long. And I dont cater to corporate greed.

The fans are what made them what they are today and they simply gave them the finger just purely for $$$$$$. Fuck em in the keister.

I do wish that R* would give their audiences more credit. I‘m replaying RDR2 currently, and as much as the game continuously leaves me breathless in how impressive its world building is, it is downright insulting in its mission design. I mean, the game literally plays itself when it comes to any decision of agency that would effect any real consequence or player creativity or ingenuity, relegating them to nothing but a puppeteer through very strict pre-scripted a—>b—>c motions and paths the developer predetermined.

I have no idea how gamers are not fatigued of this shit. Give players a general objective and let them get creative in tackling goals in any multitude of ways that they deem effective using systems built into the world. Let me buy a sniper rifle, study their routine and find a perch. Let me plant an explosive on their car. Let me poison their food. Let me try bribery. Let me put a crew together and let them handle it. There is an entire WORLD to potentially exploit, and it’s so frustrating to look at a potential playground with so many possibilities only to realize it’s all effectively dead. I’m not saying the game should become Hitman, but it is LONG overdue for R* to start to allow the player to actually leverage the world they’ve created in significantly impactful ways instead of it just being a shiny showcase to gawk at and bring superficial destruction to while putting a lasso over their necks and leading them like babies step by step. I genuinely feel insulted when playing the missions in these games because there is no room whatsoever for experimentation. This developer is absolutely terrified of letting people actually play the fucking game.

I don’t know why R* takes such a design approach, but it‘s my suspicion that they are fearful that a more open ended, player agency mandated angle would scare off more “mainstream“ casual audiences that they need to recoup such a massive investment as these games entail to create. I suspect this is not a creative choice as much as it is a commercial one necessitated by how big these games have become, and the financial risk inherent in that. Because at this point, R* has to be aware how boring and rote their missions are.

Eh. Given the reception to these trailers every release it seems I’m largely in the minority on this anyway. Wow the masses with glitter and glamor, and who wants more? And who am I kidding? I’ll probably buy it at some point, simply because I love to gawk in awe at the technical marvels these games are. But it will always be done through the sadness of such missed potential that could be so much greater.

Bro, fantastic post! Those are some good examples of multiple possibilities in a mission. It could work great too. Let's say you are to snipe someone but the hit fails for whatever reason, and the target(s) flee by car, like you said, the player has taken precautions and planted a bomb on the car as well. Or you could choose to just give chase.

Dishonored and Prey, hopefully Rockstar took a look at that, but yeah also Hitman. Immersive sim elements I guess, they are called? Such huge worlds, endless possibilities, but where are they?

12 years but you can see with your eyes how far ahead they are compared to the rest of the industry that makes games every 1 to 5 years.

You need their level of time development, budget and manpower to achieve these goals.

And let's be honest, it's one fucking game, you still can play all the remaining games on the market in the meantime, it's not like we don't have other games. (Especially silly after a year like 2023)

If the whole industry was like this then we would have a problem, but it's only rockstar, we should praise the lord that at least one dev doesn't rush their games because they want perfection and to raise the bar.

Lesson learned to anyone who judged the graphics harshly when the leak happened. It looks amazing. It didn't sink in until TLOU2 rogue-lite trailer released. That game looks so dated now compared to GTA6 and it's open world...
Putting first-party devs to shame

I understand where you are going, but RDR2 still holds up today and is what, 6 years old?

I cant escape the feeling that they have been leeching off of GTA Online for FAR to long and that stings for me as a day one gta fan.

Started playind in 1998, played all of them. But R* became greedy when seeing what Shark Cards can produce as revenue. They held back GTA6. There is no other explanation imo.

Im done with that.

What a bizarrely childish stance to have. You are boycotting a game because they aren't putting out sequels quickly enough for you? Am I reading this right?

Grow up. Also this game will be the biggest selling game of all time.

Have there been any articles already where they applaud that one of the protagonists is female while at the same time being disgusted about the twerking and how immature it is or something?

NOtaku perhaps? Polygon? No? 😝

Rewatching at work and just blown away by the density of it. Just imagine if world reactivity and animation is on pair with this fidelity, at the freedom expected from GTA game.

If they add non linearity and choice to mission design this is the GOAT of all goats

2025? Jesus I missed that. Thought for sure it would be next year - how much longer is this thing going to be in development? So PC version in 2026 - three years away lol.

I really don't see the point in drumming up excitement for something in December when it's not even coming out the following year.

There is 0 chances this will run on PS5 & Series X with this level of graphic. Even 4090 will have a problem to run this on 1440p/60fps with this level of graphic. Expecting heavy downgrade for this one.

Sitting on my 3080. Waiting for a 5080 to set me up nicely to run it at 60fps with 4k dlss.

Car lights affect the environment at a distance. Usually that's the first thing turned off.

And you think either company involved wants a repeat of that fiasco? Nintendo repeatedly tries to have adult games on their platform and drops them once they don't sell as expected. They tried with Chinatown Wars and left it at that.
Damn, and here I thought we might get a Bayonetta 4 😔.

They can't criticize fat black women twerking dude, they would eat their tales by doing that.

As i said before, rockstar was extremely smart with this trailer, you have reeeee with multiple topics with hundreds of pages about any type of character showing skin or being even a little sexy but they are all loving gta6 trailer.

I know it sound cringe or a copy pasta for some naive people, but this is the fucked up reality we live in.
