How fucked is our country?

Even if Trump's past is way cleaner than it appears and Clinton is corrupt politician people that is as bad as people think she is, how can they justify creating a monster in Trump?

The guy won't even listen to his advisors in his campaign, nor will he even bother to attempt to be more Presidential, and somehow the GOP thinks they will reign him in during his Presidency? It's madness.

Trump will be every bit the war hawk, corrupt politician, etc. that people fear Hillary will be but worse in about 20 other ways and on top of the way more petty and thin skinned as well as incompetent. People are letting partisan politics blind them to the fact that the Republican nominee is a disaster.
It's kind of insane how these people can look at someone as self-absorbed, obnoxious and corrupt as Trump and actually, honestly think he has their best interests in mind or is going to help them.

I'm not sure you could find a single example of him looking out for anyone else or lifting others up. The power of bullshit and manipulation I guess.

Whether or not you want to believe the FBI is pro-Trump, it is pretty clear that the FBI is ripping itself to shreds.

Either the FBI is leaking directly to Trump advisor Mike Flynn, or Mike Flynn is making the FBI look bad by saying they are leaking to him.

It just hit me that the FBI, KGB, Assange, and Kim Dotcom are on the same side right now.
Greatest election of all time!

It is probably worth noting that The Guardian is *extremely* pro Clinton--even during Bernie days--and anti Trump themselves.

You basically can't read them these days without a single day of them gushing over how great Clinton is, hahaha.

The shock and disbelief at this is pretty interesting. It's not like the FBI has some kind of sterling record of honesty and ethical practices

I hate this election so much, just end it already.

You think all this shit goes away after the election?

However after Hoover, there has been some implicit agreement that doing this leads to political MAD and loss of faith in public institutions.

I am beginning to think that alot of these divisions think that Trump would be easier to control or deal with in the long run.
I was asking myself last night why in the nine hells would Anonymous support Trump so much, and well most are not in the US and Trump is a bafoon when it comes to cyber security.
I think many outlets see it easier to get Trump put in and then have him removed from office putting in either Pence or someone else.

Unless you're implying they lied about their sources, it isn't really worth noting.

So what is it about Hilary that makes many in the FBI be so opposed to her? Especially to the point where they, or at the very least Comey, are interfering in a presedential election so close to voting day.

Or it could be because they've had a year-long investigation and are convinced of wrongdoing. Just a guess, but people such as FBI Agents take certain offenses very seriously and would probably not support someone that treats privileged information in a way they perceive to be flippant or reckless.

edit: not saying it can't be Trump's stated support for police, etc., and the increased amount of work for them, but I'd guess if many agents investigating are convinced of wrongdoing that would color their opinions pretty heavily.

If you have a year long investigation, find nothing, and are still convinced of wrongdoing, it's no longer an investigation.

It's a witch hunt.

People really don't want a woman to be President, I guess.

I can't rationalize all this collusion to be simply politics. Makes no sense.

As mentioned before, the FBI in general has historically been a conservative organization.

But it seems like there's some serious internal conflict that's resulted in everyone throwing shit out for the press. There's no way Comey keeps his job for more than a year when his own department is attacking him, because he doesn't just look shady, he looks incompetent.

When she ran for senate she spoke out on corruption and racism in law enforcement. The NY FBI office took offense to that

If I was Clinton I would also setup a personal email server with the best security that money could buy. Just in case.

By the way, I hope the irony of using their power improperly to influence others while railing against corruption is not lost on these people.

To be Republican is to be a hypocrite. Willing or unwilling. Either way, those people don't give a shit.

edit: whoa that could be a bar or two

Is it that the FBI's job would be easier if Trump was president because he wants to export Muslims and other "illegal" minorities? The same reason some people in ICE support him.

The FBI need to be hard purged. Yes, that would massively reduce morale and general effectiveness for a while, but just leaving things as they are will just allow the rot to fester.

It is probably worth nothing that reality is extremely pro Clinton and anti Trump also

Absolutely unacceptable if this report it true.
Anyone in the FBI letting their political views interfere should be fired immediately.

Yeah. I won't have sympathy for anyone that elects Trump in which he'll destroy this country even more so than George Bush.

I'm just going to stop thinking about this whole race for week or 4 years. I can't believe this FBI thing is helping Trump so much, it's so stupid. How the heck has it come to this, this crazy person has a pretty good chance now.

you can bet your ass republicans would be the first to line up to get trump out after the election and prop up pence as their racist bigoted bitch

Normally, people here want others to come forward with information regarding criminal like behavior. But when FBI agents have to resort to this because they felt they were stifled by corruption in their own branch, to bring things to light, people want them dissolved. And this is because...?

People terrified of trump, his ideas would be shot down so fast in the checks and balances. Clinton on the other hand will find ways to carry out her will. Fact is, worst election ever, we sorely need a true and respected 3rd party. I fear more what Clinton will do then the dumb whims of trump that'll get shot down anyways.

Add this to the pile:

@jaketapper
been hearing for weeks anecdotally about the CIA-FBI divide over this election.

Who knew in the war between the spooks and the G-men, I would be siding with the spooks.

That's a gross little strawman you built, but I'll address it anyways.

No one wants the FBI dissolved.

The FBI doesn't "have to" resort to ANY of this.

Using one's own law enforcement power to leak things and influence elections by going against protocol IS CORRUPTION.

God, what a shitshow. These people need to be fired and condemned to retail. Assuming they avoid jail time.

Are they trying to influence the election though, it sounds like they will "get her" in office or out. And, if she can get away with being immune to protocol, why can't they? What if there really is corruption at hand, and this is the only way to get action? Many "If's" I know, but maybe there is smoke for a reason. Instead of things being written off as "bad feds" people should move on with an open mind.

Where do you get the impression they are going to get her?

Oh for heaven's sake...

Maybe because they had a year to investigate Hillary and couldn't find anything?

At this point, anyone who wants to believe that Hillary is guilty of SOMETHING needs to acknowledge that they just aren't dealing in reality.

Like, we aren't dealing with smoke here. We talking about actual, open FBI investigation that spanned a year and turned up nothing. And a sect within the FBI that refuses to accept that.
