Heh the Elementalist swiftness stacks are fun. Even better is that I'm playing a Charr and don't have to gallop around in slow-mo all the time.

So, is there any reason why the PvP just doesn't work? The server browser just shows me empty games and then spits out an error afterward.

Anyone else able to play the 5v5 PvP matches?

They disabled it, hence why it doesn't work.

Edit: Oh, they restored it yesterday. Then I don't know. Maybe they took it down again.

What the fuck... the game is sold out on their official website and Green Man Gaming.

Trying to get a copy for my wife. This is ridiculous.

Ridiculous? It's refreshing to see a company responsible enough to try to stabilize their servers instead of getting more short term sales.

"How are you people hitting 80 so quickly? Ive been playing for hourd every day and have yet to hit 30. Are you just not sleeping? Jeez."

How many hourd is hourd.

Guarantee I'm going to screw up this post? Yeah.
Gimme a break tekno, Im on my phone. The question still stands though.

do a mix of working toward daily, renowned hearts, story, and don't ignore events when you see them, even if you just tag something and run away, bronze is still decent xp for doing nothing. Also, crafting gives a lot exp, especially if you discover recipes.

Went to wvw with a guildgroup (10-15ppl) and run around and cap all the small camps with outnumbered buff (+33% xp) got like 10 lvls in 4 hours.

I keep saying this to my non-gaf guild and ill say it again here: The people who are rushing to 80 are going to be the same people begging for more content in a month. Take your time, explore and enjoy. I'm 45 at around 50 hours and still loving it. Only 1 character, 150 JC/LW, with 25% world map completion. Still having loads of fun.

On another note, the fact they removed the ability to salvage vendor items is going to make reagent prices skyrocket once the TP comes back. That's how I got all of my jute/leather.

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions

I don't get the rush to 80 at all with this game.
Between crafting, exploring, jumping puzzles, events, etc why rush to 80?

I've been taking my sweet time just enjoying the game.

Oh shit that changes the whole market.

Or they're WvW players.

I'm not 80 yet but I hit 52 last night and missed the first 2 days of head start on vacation. You can easily get 2 levels just from about 20 minutes crafting or so with cooking. More if you have materials for another trade.

Do 100% completion of zones for very good XP, run events, do WvW... it's hard to avoid good xp in the game.

Or they're WvW players.

I'm in the game primarily for tthe PvE so maybe I should have specified but even then, getting to max level and doing pvp over and over just seems boring to me unless they constantly introduce new ways of combat.

I'm in no way trying to say you're not allowed to reach max level, only that its the first weekend of the games release and there's no reason to rush.

Wait wait, Im not saying I want to rush up the charts, and I do everything in yout post and get gold in every event. I suppose you're all just playing a much larger total amount of hours a day, compared to my 2-5 a day.

What's the consensus on drivers? I'm playing on a single gtx670. I'm still on 301.42 and when I load up the client, it suggests 304.79 beta drivers.

So I had switched from sylvari mesmer to Norn warrior, and I do like the warrior quite a bit. It's a way easier play style... but I really want to like my mesmer, I was just dying repeatedly and not having any fun...

So suggestions for how to play Mesmer? I was using Staff / Scepter+Focus, but i'm open for anything if someone has some good tips?

My problems mostly come from not being able to keep dudes off me and then not being able to live through many hits.

"I keep seeing Dolyak talk, but I've never really paid attention or looked into it. Not sure if fixed by now, whatever it was/is?"

It's not something that needs to be fixed, it's simply repeating the dolyak escort event in WvW.

I played 97 hours before hitting 80. That is with no crafting or PvP...only questing with my warrior. Also did one dungeon (AC) and most of my story before it bugged out at level 76 and I cannot finish it.

Try greatsword or pistol builds on your mesmer. They are the most fun imo.

Got a mail about the first dungeon. For the story version can I do it now or do I have to do stuff until it appears in my log as a story quest?

FXAA is such a hit on the IQ that I'm currently running without AA, then you know it's bad. Then again, the pixel density of my monitor doesn't make it jaggy city.

Here is my little munchkin. The two dyes are Strawberry Breeze and Strawberry Cream:

I wish you could change accessory color. Not sure why you can't

Edit, one more. This guy just ran up to me, stopped and started staring

Maybe for you, but that's complete nonsense on a regular 1080p display.

Turning the AA off leaves things viewed from a distance like a jaggy, horrible mess. Especially the plants and trees. Eugh.

What is the superior option? I'm not going AA-less, that's for sure ;)

Is there any live support yet? My level 3 mesmer died in caledon forest and now i can't login to him anymore, i tried creating new character and logging in, and it worked. Even tried transferring servers... is my character permadead? :(

Never said it was a solution to anyone's problems. It was my personal opinion on FXAA and my monitor gives me a temporary solution until a good inspector bit is found.

FXAA totally destroys the text in the game, though. I don't know if other AA methods work if forced or not, but if they do, that would obviously be the better solution.

It's a boring way to plevel. Do it if you are interested on hitting the cap quickly for some reason, or if you are farming exp. Nothing that needs to be fixed or anything like that.

Text is crisp. I don't see any difference.

I might try forcing other forms of AA as i'm already using RadeonPro, but there's a lot of hyperbole floating around.

Just because you don't agree, doesn't make it hyperbole. FXAA adds a ton of the vaseline effect to the image, to the point where it's unbearable. ( Again, for some. )

I called "The FXAA totally destroys the text in-game" hyperbole. Because it is.

I can see the soft blurring filter in the distance, and I still prefer it over the jaggy mess it is otherwise. I'll experiment with other AA methods later.

Okay then, my bad, I agree with that.

And it's definitely a matter of taste. That blurred image just looks like I'm wearing a pair of slightly foggy glasses and I desperately want to clean them. Some people are alright with it, however I just think it's weird they only include that AA form. What happened to natively implemented SMAA which allows a ton more settings than the injector ( Only 1x ) or just basic MSAA?

They opted for the cheapest solution and the most expensive solution, performance wise.

People Dolyak farming are wasting a spot in WvWvW. If your escorting a dolyak to the frontlines then that is decent, but when we have 50 people in the back walking dolyaks without an enemy in sight its dumb. Any of you who do that should be ashamed.
