How does that combo work with enemies post level 60+ that begin dazing, knocking down, snaring, etc? As awesome as it is to watch, I can't help but feel that if the chain is broken and an elementalist is grabbed he is screwed.

I'm really really REALLY enjoying my Guardian over my Necro. I started her up as soon as I hit 80 on my Necro and don't find myself wanting to go back to Necro anytime soon. :|

quite liking scepter/torch, breathing fire on groups of enemies is delicious. didn't expect guardian to be able to play ranged when i rolled the toon tbh. i love spirit weapons, and it's so cool that guardian gets a speed boost spell. RETREAT!

hmmm have no lag issues during normal pve stuff.
Think installing win 8 might have even improved my performance by 10% or so.

Hahahah mushroom heads make me laugh.
Also, I'm going to have to take up a ranged option for fights that I simply can't get close in (Fire Elemental comes to mind in Metrica).

yeah, scepter dps is actually surprisingly good untraited. Shame the autoattack is the weakest ass looking move around lol. It's also quite easy to walk around in pvp lol. Probably the biggest weakness of Guardian is their ranged side imo.
Has anyone tried to spec out a range guardian?

Don't pick a class based on if it's a "safe" class to start for a newbie - pick one that you're interested in. I know, that's like, SO overstated, but it's even more true in this game where gear won't save you. You have to enjoy the class enough to get good at playing it!
I think you'd be alright if that's really what you're interested in. It doesn't have the highest skill floor, though there are certainly more straightforward classes to learn like Warrior.

The thing about guardian is that their weapon skills synergize very well. They all sorta play off of each other. They're designed very well. I found while the warrior has a wider variety of weapon skills, they're all sorta stand alone and they don't work that nicely together.

Well, you can F1 the Longbow fire AOE and go from there - Dash skills and more Bow skills synergize very well with that. Same with the Asura racial poison field. Also, the 2h dash (forgot the name, sorry) move works as a third evade, so you can chain that in very well after a flurry move. Oh, and Fields and the stomp or banners? Hell yeah.
I dunno, while I see the warrior being a bit boring maybe, compared to other, more flashy classes, I still have a lot of fun with him. I might roll an alt for trying something different though, or finally continue leveling my WvW-only experimental Elementalist.
I use stone armor that gives stability, cleansing flames that breakes stuns and gets rid of 3 conditions and teleport that breaks stuns (and teleports :duh:; dust form is easier to use but I like the earth+teleport combo seen in the video and the ability to go through walls) and with the constant swiftness, vigor and protection in combination with the movement skills that dagers have you can basically just evade all attacks while doing damage and then use one of the three mentioned utility skills should something catch you.
Works really well in PvP as well.
Where it does not work is in massive Zerks.
Just had a few awesome runs with the guys in the GAF guild through the mansion dungeon. Did all 3 of the scenarios and was some crazy stuff!

Use tranmutation stones on them to give you the look you want.
I have spent $0 on the gem store so far but have about 20 of those stones from chest drops

I found that Greatsword Warrior skills are pretty nicely combo-ish, the untargeted dash for gap-closing/escape, targeted dash, slow into target dash, slow into dash into hundred blades, slow into whirlwind dash etc.

Pretty much. And no transmutation stones that cost gems is an extremely poor excuse.
Isnt the hottest item on trade a lvl 80 greatsword that looks like your lvl 1 weapon?
Don't you have a handful of regular transmutation stones lying around?

You get them from 100% completing areas.
Stuck on one of those really unbalanced My Story instance now...escort,protect some NPC that dies right away,while waves and waves of ennemy appear,etc etc...during the BWE I rated some of those and left comments that they where ridiculously hard but looks like that didn't change...

It's easy for a player to use up all the free ones they get. You get gear faster than you do free transmutation stones.
Sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out. But I will probably hate you if I really like it since I just decided last night that my second character would be an Engineer after previously deciding it would be a thief and previously deciding it would be a Mesmer.
I agree with this. When I first used it the skills seemed like they were somewhat situational, but after using it for a bit the skills play off each other very nicely and it's become my favorite weapon. Dash in, hundred blades, position yourself to cripple a group, whirl out when an attack is winding up, switch to ranged for a bit or dash back in and hundred blades everything again.
It keeps you mobile and if you position yourself right can spew out close range AoE and 900 range straight line AoE from the cripple skill piercing & boomeranging.
The only think I don't like is the game seems reluctant to let me dodge when I'm using hundred blades, it kind of feels like there's a wind down before it allows any other action to happen in the middle on it.
Umm... I'm level 45 and still have like 25 transmutation stones left. You don't need to use a stone for literally every single new item you get.

If you're doing Twilight Arbor, I might join. I like the zone, but the second boss is always trouble if you don't mind the circle strategy. You have to do it correctly.
