I've been wondering the same for a long while.

I will never understand why people love gbf so much. It's literally a boring yugioh with some ok fight scenes and weird references to different gundam series.

We love it because it's an awesome show, and you clearly didn't watch the Renato bros. vs Meijin Kawaguchi fight.

I dont really remember any of the fights to any great degree. The fights were not terrible in the show, but the show never had any internal consistency about how anything works, so it's pretty hard to get excited by the fights tbh.

It's scheduled for two cours from what I've read. Full series.

It takes far, far in the UC future. How far, I don't think we know. At some point in the UC future, they change to the "Reguild Century" calendar and this show takes place 1014 years into that calendar.

In all seriousness, this might be the first good "traditional" Gundam show for me since SEED. SEED Destiny was a trainwreck, 00 took a nose dive in quality season 2 onwards and the less said about Age the better.

Some facts people might find interesting, Tomino has been working on this thing at least since 2010. It began full production in 2012. This thing has been a long time coming.

Tomino, being the original creator of gundam, is pretty good about making the shows feel fresh. He defined the franchise after all. He knows what makes gundam gundam without relying on tropes.

Harry Ord was beast as hell though. Swagging that entire show.

I haven't watched Gundam anything since a few episodes of Gundam SEED years ago. The last full series I watched was either 08th MS Team or G Gundam, the latter of which was weird as hell. I'm def watching this though. The art and the little footage I've seen looks great.
