What was the last record?
If it's Spotify then Drakes mixtape. A lot of these records are due to user growth, but I guess compared to Drakes release there can't have been too much of that.

*UPDATE: Billboard got in touch with a Spotify representative, who crunched the numbers and estimated that Kendrick made $44, 160 globally in one day off the To Pimp A Butterfly streams on the service. But we know where most of that money is really going, dont we?
Lol 3 mil listens for $44 dollars.

Doesn't that say $44,160?

I thought Jenny Death was today? No one uploaded it?
That still strikes me as super low and shitty.hahaha, shit. I misread that. I'm tired. I just got off work.
I'm gonna leave that up there for posterity though

damn spotify is eating off these artists lmao. that's a damn shame.
Why do you think Jay-Z is getting into the business?
to become like those he despised for what they did to the Cold Crush?
Lol 3 mil listens for $44 dollars.
3 mil listens? Isn't it for the 9.6?
So 0.0044 dollars per listen if we go by 44000/10mil. The total tracks on GKMC have been played roughly 330 million times. 330000000*0.0044 = 1.4 million dollars.

Pretty insane that TPAB reached 1/33rd of GKMCs total plays in a day tbh.

Okay, yeah, that is Pac. I hadn't heard his voice in a while.
Knowing this is Pac gives a whole new hue to this track. I got tears in my eyes right now.

I think subsidizing music streaming is very difficult, and much like the album sales themselves, I think the merchandising is the real untapped market. Don't get me wrong, people make a fuckload of money from merchandising, but I feel that's where it's going right now in terms of subsidizing music production.
I don't blame Taylor Swift etc. at all for pulling out of Spotify. It really does further sink the perception of supporting music proper for teens and young adults. For some it's a viable option, but the music industry isn't out of rough waters quite yet.
saw that last night, pretty dope. Surprised he has sympathy for Suge.
Average as fuck. I'd say probably a bit better than J Cole cause you can detect some progression in his career (although it was from terrible to average).I haven't been here long enough to know, what's the consensus on Mac around here?
