Gwent - Open Beta Thread: Not bad, not bad at all

New taunts would be a nice addon. I would even pay for more dlc voice line packs for my smug Dandelion ( ͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Finally got my first gold! Had to pick between Caranthir, Triss Butterfly and one other I can't recall now. Chose Triss <3.

And just played a reveal Nilf and they could see all my cards halfway in to the match. Yeah, it's quite powerful.

Opened a pack, exited the results screen, got a transaction error message, cards aren't in my collection. :/

The 100 ore is gone of course.

What are the odds of this? I'm opening some packs and in 5 packs, I've gotten these:

You better put in some lottery-numbers tonight. Damn that's good!
11th pack:

I honestly have no idea how this is happening considering my luck with these things... and the fact that I've complained my ass off just yesterday.

Edit: and my next to last keg was another legendary:

This whole wait at a black screen while your opponent does stuff is annoying af.

edit:
o lol, a tied a round acts like a victory for the round for both opponents. Dunno if my opponent knew that but I would have destroyed him the next round anyway.

How do you see leveling progress? I am trying to hit level 3 so I can actually get to crafting a deck... this level requirement to mill cards is completely annoying.

You know what. I'm done with this game until they do something about weather cards. Out of the three last games I have had two people forfeiting the instant I managed to counter their weather cards and the third one won because of the amount of weather cards I had to try and counter.

It's not fun to play when it just devolves to whether or not you can counter weather.

I thought golds were fairly common. I got 3 golds in my like last 8 kegs. 1 was animated. Is it worth milling animated cards like it is in hearthstone? If someone has the mill-> craft ratio chart please share.

There do seem to be some strong counters to weather though and counterplay besides just something that removes the effects.

I really am not sure since I am pretty new to this game. First impression is that weather is absolutely strong, but there does seem to be some strategy to mitigating each weather since they do slightly different things and because the timing of weather is important since to get value off the weather you want to keep extending the current round.

I just had an opponent play 2 weather cards on me and I beat him without drawing a counter.

I really don't think weather is that strong. Like 95% of the time they barely get as much value as a bronze unit card and its just a waste of a turn. Gold weather cards are strong for sure but they're just as strong as any other strong card/combo in the game.

Of course this all depends on what deck you're playing.

I don't mind weather at all with the current deck I'm playing and just keep my units in it most of the time. Thanks for buffing my hunter 😏

TFW your opponent does not send you good game.

Positve: they're salty af.
Negative: a little less ore.
Outcome: Mixed.

Also, damn I need match history to look at. I am like 4-1-1 so far I need something to eyegasm at.

Nope milling animated cards doesn't give you more crafting materials. You simply get card materials + materials that you can use to upgrade a card to animated.

But damn 3 golds in 8 kegs is pretty damn good.

I accidentally conceded a game that was going to round 3 I think. I can't quite remember if I won the first round but I had such a huge advantage going into the second round that I was bummed out when I lost it.

edit:
Is there a list of bad cards worth milling? I need to get about 60 crafting material. edit2: oops, need 260. Maybe I'll keep going with starter deck and fill in a little.

how do I craft such cards? Don't you just unlock em through kegs?

In card collection you can see all cards in the game, owned and non-owned and you can craft cards with scraps and mill cards you don't want (or quick mill those cards that you have more of than is allowed in a deck) to get scraps.

Is this what the option in the corner does, mill all the cards that are not usable due to exceeding amount allowed in a deck? New to the game and scared of doing something daft.

People need to chill with the forfeits. Two times in a row now I've had someone forfeit because I had another card left in the final round. Both times it's been complete dogshit that wouldn't have made a difference.

Caved in, bought 60 kegs. Got only two golds...

Well, at least I reached rank 10.
I'm on the verge of doing both of those things. Both are such a grind; earning cards or levels. I don't see how it's possible to build a good deck without buying tons of kegs. And even then it might not be the deck you want...

Yeah, many seems to forfeit earlier then necessary. Is there any punishment for doing that in ranked games?

Just beat gumgum (Gwentlemen member, high tier player) in ranked. He got super unlucky draws with NG. Had to put resilience on a useless 3 drop. Drew one of those bronze activators when he had no spies etc. Got +75mmr from him. Almost rank 12 now yay!

So, I took a look at that Kamu Skellige deck.

I think that "Renew" is better than "Ciri". You can get "Wild Boar of the Sea" back into the game.

"Dimeritium Shackles" are better than "Cleaver". It's a bronze card, so you can put in another good silver.
+You can demote your "Wild Boar of the Sea" at the end of a round to resurrect it in the next round with Sigfrida if needed.

Not entirely sure about Crach or Cripple as a leader. You can do some good damage with a 5,4,3,2,1 hit if possible. Crach can get you Morgvarg and then you can get rid of Alzur Double-Cross.

Royal Decree would be a good choice for getting Wild Boar or Renew to revive it.

All those possibilities. With my Queensguard deck being done, I'll focus on improving that Kamu deck.

Man, just got to level 20 and the free legendary I got was one of the starter ones.
With this of the 14 legendaries I've gotten 2 were dupes.
I guess at this point I do have a bunch of scraps to just craft a couple, though.

Wondering if I should just craft up Regis Higher Vampire for my Consume Monster deck?
I suppose Gravekeeper couldn't hurt, either.

Is there a scrap cap you can get from GG's?

I've gotten two GG's now and my scraps are still at 0...
