Hmm, weird glitch during one of the quests in Revolution. Restarting the game apparently fixed it, but I'll describe it anyways.

During "Q43 Hundred Eyes" you have to go through a cave to reach an eastern village where you become invisible. The glitch or whatever caused me to be unable to go back through the cave, whether I was visible or invisible. And since there's no monsters there you can't get killed to get sent back out of the area...

Otherwise it's been a ton of fun. Also, the
Casino
is kind of addicting.
Although it's easier to just re-do the Two Princesses quest and get 10,000G to get 1,000G in your G-Wallet to buy 100 Goddess Coins rather than keep playing the slot machine. Although there's definitely a pattern in it once you start winning with fethers, just keep playing as soon as you win with anything but G-Coin symbols and it seems to always give you at least a chance and a another win, and you can continue until you lose.

Also, haha, I totally missed a party member in Judgement but he still showed up for the final cutscene.
I remember them talking about the bird dude in the stage where you have to climb/jump across towers to cross the islands, but I thought that ended up being the Wind Summon Stone. Oh well, whatever.

About half way through judgement; I wasn't really enjoying the game (Ciel is painful,) but I found playing it in short bursts has increased my enjoyment quite a bit - to be expected of a former PSP game I suppose. It's more of the same, but loving the crazy ways you can complete a stage and all the random party members, titles, and items you can pick up along the way.

Oy, COPLonesteban, you should consider changing both of the game's icons on Steam.

Hmmm... I found an item in a chest which I can't seem to figure out the use for. It doesn't even show up anywhere on my equipment. I found it in the Frozen Castle quest in Judgement.
The Angel Diary was in the chest in the bottom right corner of the first floor. You have to drop through some holes to get it. What does it do?

It's for the post-game bonus dungeon, I think. There's apparently one in each storyline
.

Small question. I've been going back, trying to collect more titles, but I couldn't really find a way to check my titles in the first chapter. To check what I had missed, I kept having to quit out to the menu, and pop in and out of chapter 2 to see what I had missed, and then go back to chapter 1. It doesn't take a whole lot of time, but I'd appreciate if there was a better way.

Mage/Mage weapon specials seem to be kind of useless. The activation rates are heinously low (the only one I've actually had proc say it's something like 1 in 30), so mastering them will take forever, not to mention that you need to be in class to even activate them (i guess mastering them might let you use them in any class?). They don't seem to be any stronger than regular skills either so?

I haven't figured one out yet, but yeah, it's pretty annoying.

I honestly don't get why Overture and Judgement are separate chapters since Revolution and Ragnarok each seem to be about the same length as Overture/Judgement combined (I am basing this on the achievement list). It's not like, a major complaint or anything, it's just mildly inconvenient.)

(The only other minor gripe: A distressing lack of character art. Since the party members are permanent in this title, instead of just popping up in one or two stages like in the first, I was hoping the gallery would have all of them. Or most of them. Or even include vaguely important characters like Guy or Nanako or Levan.)

Edit: Wow this post comes across as way more negative than I intended. I am still way onboard with this game y'all.

Yeah, mastering a skill let's you use that skill regardless of the weapon you are currently using. You just have to set it on the last option in the Equipment menu

beat Overture last night. it was a little early but it was a good spot for me to quit for the night.

does anyone else feel that the movement precision is just a fraction off? I've died a few times feeling that I was lined up to run up and face a Goddess Statue but upon execution I miss. using a Mad Catz SF4 fightpad

edit: I also wish walking up to the edge of the area you're in automatically exits. It gets me when I walked up to the edge of the forest and had to press A to leave

I felt the same way as well. This was designed to be on the PSP. It feels better in short spurts. It is a shame it is stuck on the PC, but I cannot complain too much. I rather get it in some form than none.

Sometimes the game will switch your class if you replay old story modes or opening chapters. I guess that was why I was having so much trouble getting specials to proc?

Anyone beat the main campaign yet? I need to gauge how far I am so I can allocate time for gaming sessions. I usually check an faq just to look at the chapter list but none are available yet. I just finished Q20 in Judgement.

It's pretty long. I think Overture + Judgement took me about 5 hours, I'm closing in on 10 hours now and I haven't beaten Revolution yet. I'm sure there are more campaigns after this too, it hardly feels like the end.

I didn't, but if you check the achiev list you can see how many quests there are
(hint: titles/2)
.

The other two main campaigns are roughly as long as Overture and Judgement combined. Obviously you can extend playtime even farther if you wanna go hunting for titles/crafting/etc.

How's Revolution so far? Just started that chapter. I am surprised I keep my global level from the first two chapters

Yeah, I can see that for sure! I enjoy the change of tone. Makes me curious how the next will be. Cracks me up that she keeps mentioning Levan pointing his gun at people

Looks like the missing "DLC" content in the game is really going to be paid DLC content after all. Probably wouldn't bother me at all if it were originally paid DLC content to begin with, but the DLC scenarios were free pre-order bonuses for the PSP game in Japan.

Any idea how extensive they are? Like is it a scenario DLC pack, or are we looking at something like "Pay $2 for 1 extra quest!"? I'd be ok with modes and such, not sure if I'd buy extra tiles for make a map mode (I haven't touched it yet, but I typically don't get really into those).

No idea how much it is, but it sounds like it's going to be one single DLC pack containing all the extra stuff - two bonus scenarios of 3 quests each (one for Revolution and one for Ragnarok), and the contents of those quests (new bosses, sprites, tiles, etc) should be available for use in the map editor as well.

Edit: I found some screens from the original PSP release of the game for the pre-order DLC stuff. One is Sengoku themed and the other features some Sexy Evil Lord, lol.

It certainly is a little disappointing, but for me idk the fact they ported the game over to PC and added online play to it(which I wish some of you chumps would play!). Makes me want to give them a pass. Whereas if this was done on psp and made into paid dlc. I'll probably call BS

A few quests in Revolution, I like it a lot.
The settings/music and that famous
THE EMPIRE IS EVIL
from old JRPG.

Just got to Revolution, this game is now my new most favorite thing ever. I stopped playing Dark Souls 2 for this.

The whole paid DLC thing is a little disappointing though. Was hoping this game wouldn't be nickel and diming me.

I guess it's worth mentioning I beat the main game? I still gotta go back and do the titles/get all the equipment, but at least
I think I finished the Demon Maze or whatever it's called. Got all the Brave Equipment from it, (unless there's a sword, which I didn't find there, but got the Destiny Sword and the one for saving Geezer) got all the Time Stones, and got Yashu. Also got the Angel Diaries and Sasha. I finished the 3 second quest, which was pretty easy with a high G-Level, and I'm guessing there's another 300 quest of some sort but I haven't got it yet.

Seems like I'm the only one who doesn't like Revolution.

On the bright side, I'm advancing really fast now because most of the time is spent during cutscenes and I'm skipping them.

this happened to me just now as well, I didn't even know I missed someone. I'm hoping I like Revolution as much as you guys, I feel a little burnt out after Overture

edit: I wish I could skip the cutscenes, even though I want to speed things up I'd feel guilty about it in the end

So in the map editor I'm not able to use any snow tiles? Do I have to unlock them or they really just not available at all? Anyone that's past Revolution could you check map editor for me please and see if you have them? just curious

The interface (if you can call it that) for seeing what titles you are missing is rather annoying.

I appreciate the hints though.

I'm trying to make it free for a limited time when we put the game on sale. If they don't listen to me, I'll try to keep it as cheap as possible.

Oh, that's pretty cool. I think it would have been a better idea to have made it pre-order DLC for a week or two before release, and then charge a buck or two for it for everyone buying it post-release, but I guess it's too late for that now. Maybe it wasn't complete in time? Glad people are actually listening to feedback though. It's amazing that the game got released at all as it is, with a lot of actual effort going into the port too! :)

I have learned a lot from this launch :) Thanks for appreciating the work we did!
