Halo 4 Announced (MS Conf, 2012, Start Of New Trilogy)

I know he's been banned but I just can't let this lie.

Halo: 2001-2012 7 games G/Y ratio = 0.636
Gears of War: 2006-2012 3 games G/Y ratio = 0.5
God of War: 2005-2012 5 games G/Y ratio = 0.714
Uncharted: 2007-2012 4 games G/Y ratio = 0.8
Resistance: 2006-2012 4 games G/Y ratio = 0.66

Seems hardly fair to count handheld versions. And Halo has seen a new game released every fall for at least the past 3-4 years. The only thing bring its average down is the Xbox era, where it was 2-3 years between sequels. At this point it comes out almost as often as Call of Duty.

If BR/AR starts existed across the board I would agree with you. The only reason I have a distaste towards the AR (and am unhappy to see it again) is because so far AR starts have been forced on us. If it existed but wasnt rammed down my throught I would be fine with it.

AR is a signature weapon, and has its place in Halo. That said I hope its toned down severely in its implementation for multiplayer.
I agree completely.

Just have alternate fire by pressing down on the D-pad or something. The AR could have burst and be both.

In close-quarters full-automatic could be like an SMG, while distance with burst would be like in Halo 2/3.

AR needs a significant look at a design overhaul. Right now it is simply one of the most uninteresting, unrewarding weapons to use in just about any shooter.

Couldn't agree more. The most interesting outcome of firing the AR is a meelee beatdown. so both of you die... WEEEEEE!

I just wrapped up Halo: Anniversary. I'm way too excited for this reveal! I sure hope Game On gives us the scoop tomorrow. I'll make sure to watch that live (unless someone else spills the beans on Halo 4 earlier).

Yes, because an expansion (ODST) and a remake (anniversary) totally means the same thing as a new iteration every year.

Why? It's fair to count Halo Wars (a completely different genre), Halo Anniversary (a budget remake), and Halo ODST (produced mostly as an expansion).

So then it's fair to count Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Resistance Retribution, God of War Collection, God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War: Ghosts of Sparta. Why not?
They aren't small cash-in titles. They're legitimate full-fledged games in the exact same vein as their console counterpart with fairly high production values.

Four Uncharted games in 5 years.
Six God of War games in 7 years.
Four Resistance Games in 6 years.

The point is that when a Halo game is announced, it's very much in context. A 10 year Anniversary remake is NOT milking the damn franchise. Having Ensemble make Halo Wars with a completely different story in the universe based on the original Halo concept is NOT milking the franchise.

The one legitimate complaint I can see is that ODST was priced as a $60 release, which is a shame because it would've been a lot better received at $40, critically and commercially.

No one scoffs at the 10 Resident Evils or Zeldas or Mario in a single generation but people want to bundle each and everything Halo under one banner and claim its being milked. It's bullshit. Everyone understands what a mainline Zelda is. What a mainline Final Fantasy is. They need to do the same with Halo. The last main course Halo game came out in 2010, and before that in 2007. Everything else is an appetizer.

your bingo card is a little confusing

like what are N1, O1, I2, N3, O2, I3 (2nd free space?), G4, I5,

Firefight 3.0, More Spartans, New Vehicles, N3 is the blank space in the middle, Kinect, Forge 3.0, Armour Lock, New Mode.

The key is at the top, in order, but not labelled.
