Yeah they were all pointing to the fact he just made up fero because she was never captured on the camera when she went to his apartment n killed those soliders/agents.
Aka another altered video clip provided to the public. Plus it was fero that releaed the bad footage of the cheif. How did they track the funds if it were supposably secure and how did they known he went to the bunker? Yeah fero was all made up for this. To put it on him.

When your blood is made to boil just from listening to a little piece of scifi fiction, that's when you know it's some truly well-written stuff. Many thanks to everyone who has worked on this, what an amazing job. And props to Michael Keegan Key for really putting in that golden voice work. Now I'm ridiculously hyped for Halo 5's campaign. Really hope for a part 2, or at least have Petra involved in the campaign somehow.
After Ben was finding out they got to Ray, I was hoping he would just bust out a hidden gun and pop that ONI puppet right in the dome out of sheer frustration.

I dont think so. They want us to focus on the chief's saga. The season 2 wit petra will be most likely during the events of h5. Maybe a direct alt view of the action than the chief.
I think itll start right before the release lf halo 5.

ONI pulled an Aizen. Ben's interview exposing ONI on network TV was turned around so he looked like a crazy conspiracist-traitor. Ben is disappeared into some ONI black site. Petra picks up where Ben's work left off. But she is more badass.

We don't really know, the server site is a setup by ONI, fed through Petra and FERO, do you really think ONI is silly enough to lure Ben to a trap but let him have all the info?
Though there is indeed a possibility that ONI thought they can contain the aftermath so they let Ben and Ray had those files but they probably did not account for Ray's trusted backup and Petra.
It was done by the Nazis in the 1930s. It was done by Soviets, Chinese government, NSA in the present day. It can be done in 2558.

You gotta remember the specific situation they find themselves in. On the tail end of multiple decades of martial law, fighting for their very survival against a seemingly unstoppable enemy. Military power expanded enormously, and ONI was already pretty formidable before, being in charge of the fight against the Insurrectionists. The UEG was already borderline vestigial, and ONI's done their best to ensure that doesn't change. They have effectively 0 oversight, and their reach is incredible.

So now that we know the true colors of FERO, it makes me really curious about Mashak. Was he also a plant, or was what he was going to tell Ben was that there were inconsistencies with FERO? I'm not positive that we've heard the last of Mashak.

Yep. Keep in mind that when Ben said that, it was up to the point of him releasing all the HtT episodes, not in a wholistic sense at the end of his life looking back (unless, of course, the last we hear of him is the end of his life...).
It's entirely plausible (not necessarily probable) that Ben might survive to hunt again, and might even get to trade horror stories with Mshak (assuming he indeed wasn't a plant but rather was a legitmate conspiracy theorist with Ben's/humanity's best interest at heart).

Did ONI control the entire senate? Looked to me like they had leverage over a SINGLE freshman senator who only got his seat because the incumbent died, and who needed support after being demoted and disgraced after a nasty encounter with a Spartan II.
They weren't controlling the media or the interview. Unknowingly to Ben, ONI supplied files which would show to be fake, which reflected on Ben. The interviewer didn't turn on Ben because he was working for ONI, it was because suddenly all evidence pointed to Ben being a fraud and conspiracy nut.

Have to say I quite liked how Del Rio was handled. I certainly wasn't expecting
chief to be redeemed or Del Rio to get his comeuppance.
It is interesting to have Chief cleared and hailed as a hero again. And the deep space anomalies weren't revealed, so I really do think that's the clean slate in which 5 starts from, as opposed to taking place during part of Hunt The Truth.

In this context ONI and UNSC just came off from a massive interstellar war, in which the military and the intelligence agencies gained massive amount of power, their influence and resources definitely can do those nasty things.
And just like Frankie said all ONI did was manipulating the communications and setup a trap, it is no way near the government control level of scariness.

Hearing the news anchor eviscerate Ben on live TV was brutal. Dude saw everything crash around his head and still took the L. But we knew this was how it would end.
What a fantastic ride this has been. If just half of this well-told, excellent crafted drama makes it into Halo 5, it will be the best Halo game, story wise. Hands down.

Honestly though, it probably is Osman. Which is a shame, cause Kilo Five showed her wanting to run ONI in a different way. But after 4, Escalation, and now this, clearly that didn't stick...
