Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

Does anyone else think they should make this more than just a ad-campaign?

I would love to listen to a series of these made into 40~ minute episodes following characters in Halo lore.
I'd actually pay for that. I have really enjoyed this much more than I ever thought I would.

I couldn’t believe my ears. From hocking Hogs on Ganymede to shilling fake stories about the Master Chief, Walker’s taken us all for a ride.

The Golden Warthog is the in-universe equivalent of a Hummer?

Beautiful.

EDIT: God, M'Shak's a dick.

EDIT 2: Jesus, that ending. A lot less certain about who Pharaoh is, setting up stuff like
an exposure of the program to senior UEG senators and an appeal to the public isn't really Halsey's MO. Plus, I would have expected her to do some sort of qualifying about how necessary she thought the Spartan II program is. Still, her ultimate goal has always been humanity's survival and strength, so I guess it wouldn't be terribly shocking if she'd changed tactics.

Also, the bit about how the clones were "designed" to die: retcon or misinformation? It feels like Ben is still getting screwed with.

Great episode! Damn.. Telling the kids story.. Rough stuff.

Loving this so much. Loving the lore rehash as well.

Can they just release these every week.. Forever?

Another brilliant episode of Hunt the Truth, things are getting really intense now.

From the moment Fero starting speaking right up until the closing musical notes i was holding my breath and i didn't even realise it.

Fero sounds so angry, i wonder if she is one of the failed Spartan II's, i don't think its Halsey but i wouldn't mind if i was proven wrong on that one.

Bring on next week

They were designed to die though. The flash clones used to replace the children of the Spartan II program were meant to deteriorate and die so the families wouldn't try to figure out what happened, which is the driving force behind the Naomi and her father story.

I think the contact's spelling being FERO and not pharaoh is important, I just can't figure out what it would be.

Cassandra maybe? This stuff is really good. Well done marketing team. Do more of it in the future.

Yeah the clones were always supposed to die, simply because the technology wasn't advanced enough to flash clone someone and still keep everything working properly. Otherwise they'd just clone the kids and use the clones as the Spartans.

Wonder if they've perfected that part yet? SPARTAN-V: Clone Wars :)

Less designed to die, more had to die. They needed to clone the kids, and they didn't have the technology to do it well enough that the clones wouldn't deteriorate. The way it was spun here was that having (specifically) defective clones was a key part of the plan. I think the distinction is gonna be relevant somewhere down the line.

I'm probably just slowly losing my mind, But when FERO first started talking I thought it sounded like a hint of Halsey through the filter/modifier what ever you want to call it. Who ever it is is against ONI. Has intimate knowledge of ONI and the Spartans. The only conclusion I can come to of known characters would be Halsey.

Or it could be Cortana got composed and connected/reopened the Domain somehow and is orchestrating the downfall of ONI due to her rampancy.

I don't actually think any of this could even remotely be true.

I still can't think Halsey has time to bother with this.. Maybe? I don't know.

Something else, in the Hog ad the guy says it's the '56 Hog.. But they said that recording was 19 years ago. A goof? Is it really 2575?

I think that's the first time we've had any indication of the year. I don't remember hearing him saying anything about the year in any episode.

With how intricate they have been with this, I can't possibly see it being a goof.

Maybe it isn't the model year, but the model name?

It takes place in 2558. Ben mentions the Battle of Voi (2552) being 6 years ago in Episode 0, and in Episode 2 he mentioned "John" died 41 years ago (2517).

Could be another washout from the program, like Osman.

Um wut? That's always been known since the first book..

I'd agree with you but
the domain was destroyed. It was precursor technology and made with neural physics, which the Halo rings are capable of destroying.

Explained it a bit earlier, but there is (IMO) a distinction between a clone that you knew was going to burn out, and a clone you designed to burn out. If they could have whipped up clones that didn't rapidly deteriorate, there's no reason to think they wouldn't have done that. It speaks to the intent of the replacement process, I suppose.

It was kinda implied or self explanatory. The clones were created to live an exact lifespan to hide any traces of the child's disappearance raising any further suspicion.

Now if you were thinking of the chances that a clone (s) somehow lived with/or without ONI's knowledge is another thing I'd like to possibly see.

So, the deep space anomalies have me on the edge of my seat. Humanity in peril again, Precursor/Flood threats? Yes please!

But the question is, if ONI is exposed and their Spartan II program is unveiled, what will that accomplish if everything's going to go to hell again? Will public outcry cause the UEG to force the UNSC to recall the S-IIs? Is that why ONI has sent Locke to find Chief? To make their "experiment" disappear?

And again, if the universe is going to face another extinction level event, do you WANT the Spartan IIs out of the fight? I mean, the description of the lives of those flash clones was brutal. First time I've really been moved by how unethical it was to do that. No doubt the public, hearing those details, will be out for blood. But ... humanity survived because of the S-IIs. It's a damned either way situation.

Anyways, 5 episodes left. Hard to believe we're so close to E3, I can't wait to see how 343 connects all these threads.

Missed a lot of this stuff. Finally catching up on things.

I love the direction its going.

I love that Blue Team is involved, October can't come quick enough.

I never gave the flash clones much thought, but damn. This latest episode was eyeopening on just how horrific the entire SPARTAN II program was.
