They took a chance. I can't believe they would keep the playlist if it keeps bringing in low numbers.
I just hope we get gametypes that are versatile across playlists (KoTH, Richochet and Assault), before a gimmick game type like Griffball.

Breakout has its own playlist and five exclusive maps since launch...in hindsight those resources clearly should have been spent elsewhere.
I just wonder why they didn't have the foresight to execute better here ...
So I'm assuming the concept art was a bomb and not a new oddball?![]()
If they added Assault and gave us a few customs options with it we could just make Grifball, Oddball and Ricochet ourselves.

They spent a lot of time play testing, adjusting maps, adjusting game settings, etc. trying to get it right for HCS for a mode that would flop in the end.
I genuinely believe they are not holding back content (except REQs and a couple maps maybe) just to piecemeal us and that they are having to actively work on all of the requested content and features... They just spent a hell of a lot of time on new modes like Warzone and Breakout so other content was cut for launch.
Warzone was at least successful though. If Breakout didn't exist and we had 1-2 more gametypes in at launch and some extra standard arena maps to replace the 5 breakout maps people would be way happier overall.

This says a lot to me.
I think Breakout is some of the most fun I've had in H5. I don't think it was a waste at all.People complain about the Breakout maps taking up resources often, but don't forget most of them were designed/built by the pro team members themselves with help from the multi team. So they too were outsourced just as much, if not more than, the BTB maps.

Let's be honest. Assault, KOTH and Odball playlists would fail. The only reason they will be played is due to Arena having all game types.
If we get Firefight, the first thing I'm doing is setting the Bonus Rounds to be all Wardens and see how many will spawn before my XBO melts.
I'm very close to selling this game.
Servers and matchmaking are way too shitty to offer a fair and balanced experience.
I seriously go undefeated 20 games in a row one day only to lose 20 in a row the next. Its a never ending cycle.
Whats most annoying is kids getting insane KDA ratios every match as you dump bullets into them with shields down and they don't die.
How is that fair at all?
And its the same thing when I have that advantage. Feel unstoppable game after game one day only to feel like shit the next day.
Games shouldn't play this way.
Before we move on, the services team has been reviewing your feedback on matchmaking and continues to work on further improvements to matchmaking for regions around the globe, and just this week, we spotted that some of you were maxing out your Forge maps and mode saves, so the services and tests teams got to work and completed an update that allows you to save 100 map variants and 100 game variants, increased from the previous limit of 40. This update was pushed live yesterday morning, and wed like to say thanks for the feedback. Forge on.

Which would have a low population, like every previous objective list in Halo. People in this thread are talking about these classic objective modes that everyone wants (not pointing to an individual), and yet CTF is the only objective gametype that has been popular in matchmaking in past Halo games.
I want to play some of these gametypes, and look forward to them being added, but I prefer the carefully curated objective in Arena with sensible map combos and settings than the gametype dump into matchmaking of previous games that was never very successful.
I forget the users name, but the guy responsible for shooting and editing The Sprints sometimes posts here. It's no small feat, but since they were universally well received, I'd love a 'Sprint Lite' to accompany each months' update. With the frequency of updates, there wouldn't be enough time to get footage for a 15 minute episode, but even a 3-5 minute one would be great. I'm sure each content update isn't all worked on in order and in that specific month, but that's what editing is for right? Also wouldn't mind a peek at 343's new digs...

They should try to incorporate objective type AREAS in Warzone instead of capture areas. IDK how it would work just throwing it out there haha.
like i gotta bring 5 flags(to actual capture point like in CTF) to base 2 in order to capture it. 1 flag is spawned at a time at home base. .
i gotta plant 2 consecutive bombs at base 3 in order to capture it(bombs spawn at base 2 after capture.
and so on.
That's a really cool idea. Could even be a Warzone Objective that doesn't have bosses. Could still have mini AI or whatever. Imagine if every now and then a pop up would show saying their *insert game location objective here* is vulnerable, go blow it up. So then you have a side objective of planting a bomb, so while you're fighting over bases, you've now got to attack/defend an area away from that.
Or halfway through a flag spawns for each time outside their main base and you get extra points for capping it. #TheGoldenSnitch

I think I'm about halfway through the campaign and it's been really underwhelming so far.
Not really any memorable or iconic moments, which are what Halo campaigns can usually be relied upon for, and the storytelling is pretty poor. It does play well and runs wonderfully, but it just all feels a bit soulless.
And I appreciate that it's running at 60fps, which feels great, but I kinda don't think it looks that hot visually. Am I alone in that? Textures and lighting seem kinda flat.
I'd really like to know just what the hell went wrong with Halo 5's story. I'm sure it isn't like Destiny's total blunderfest of a backstory but I'm sure theirs a story to tell that resulted in a weak as all hell storymode.
