  • I really hope those "Matchmaking Preferences" will help. I was looking for a Region Lock toggle, but if this is basically the same, then fine.
  • Post Game Medals look fine. Finally, they are back in.
  • Other than that: REQ content sucks (Jorge Chaingun? Seriously?), Infection still meh and a Map Remix nobody asked for. *yay*
Don't see any reason why this update is called "Memmories of Reach".

It feels like besides the gametypes they just choose random stuff from a list of cut reqs from the game, and slap a name onto the update.

yeah, they should have just a toggle for finding games on your region or not.

Hopefully Hog Wild comes with a complete overhaul of the vehicles.

Also is anyone up for some customs in like 10-ish minutes? I have a map I want to get some film for. I know JDHarbs has a Condemned remake he wants to test also(so you'll be able to get your Memories of Reach in that way).

New Post-game screen looking niiiiice.

The last item is a slight increase to movement speed while crouching. This has been increased to allow for crouching to be a more viable choice for players to flank and attack.

Sad the vehicle was just a variant and not and not the falcon. Wish aside from the amours there would be more things related to reach despite the fact I hated reach. Falcon would of been really cool and could of been used for stuff in customs.

Warzone Assault was plagued with this recently. 3-4 guys with speed boost 2 and 3's getting instant spartan charge kills all over the place.

This update is very light on the 'Memories of Reach' though.

So happy that 19 of these REQ's are already in the game. lol

Over 40% of this update isn't even new, and one of them for whatever reason is an emblem that was missing from a previous update (10 emblem).

The new postgame is decent though.

The Noble Team armor is fairly nice, but I wish it was more consistent. And that they actually added a real recreation of Carter's armor instead of the vague approximation that is Noble.

Gotta be honest the updates for me have been getting less exciting as time goes on, while I thought it'd be the opposite. I was hoping with time to stew later updates would be more jam packed.

It doesn't help that numerous releases keep coming to distract :3

Yeah, I miss the days when a map pack cam out and there was a new playlist with 3 new maps 24/7 and for a little bit and it almost felt like you were playing a new game for a while. I appreciate that the updates are more frequent at least, but a new map every two months feels like such a slow incremental process that it almost feels like nothing is happening at all.

I wonder if a large expansion with multiple new Arena/Warzone maps, Firefight, and maybe some new campaign stuff is a possible E3 announement?

Removing the speed boost spartan charge thing is stupid. Literally the only reason since launch to use them other than stacking them when your fucking around.

Not to mention, this will make it that much harder to finish that commendation so I don't understand why any of you are cheering.

The only thing truly worth praising in this update is the PGCR. Going full in on it again was needed. I'm glad they didn't just add one new thing and call it a day. Sounds like it will be a mix of the H3/Reach PGCR.

Matchmaking preferences seem like a half measure. Why do both connection and skill ranges have to be changed together? Why can't you have loose skill but good connection or vice versa?

Yea the weird thing about the MM preferences to me are that it seems... backwards. Wouldn't it need to expand the skill parameters in order to put more of a focus on connection? Wouldn't a tight focus on skill parameters hurt connection since it needs to search over a larger geographical area to find people at my skill level?

Idk I'm very skeptical of the options they are giving us.

Assuming this is trying to mock my comment, I'd love to know why you would think they actually made the Brute Plasma Rifle, Spirit of Fire weapon skins, the number 10 emblem, and the other 30 items that are irrelevant to Reach for the "Memories of Reach update". Plus the fact we already had tidbits of Reach armor sense launch, all signs point towards to yes, they were just cut reqs.

In which they already gave out all the future weapon skins 2 months ago in that special req bundle.

There are some nice things in there, like UI updates and sandbox tunes, but as a content update this is probably the most underwhelming since the first one.

Why didn't the Hammer Storm update only include hammers and bad weather?

They should have kept the Noble emblem, Carters armor, Emile assassination for this update as opposed to providing it from the start. Just to add more Reach to the mix. Something like a Reach skinned DMR that has more damage or something would've been good as well.

I wish they would schedule their streams for a later time. 3 pm pacific people are working on west coast or barely home from school. Hope they archive stream right away this time.

Update is next week. It'll allow you to set a wide or narrow parameter for skill and connection. I think setting it to the narrow option will prioritize skill and connection the most, which will increase the chances of regional matchmaking

Why is it so hard for them to give us control? Honestly, how many game versions do they keep control/choice out of our hands? It's never as good as player choice.

3, Reach, 4, MCC, 5. Just allow us to choose between All (fastest) and a Region/DC list. Boom. Done. Not hard and far less work than the dev hoops they jump through for sustain or game releases.

Thx, my bad.

Edit: the update has nothing on Aus DCs latency being so bad via XBL. Just as I wrote on that thread I made, the parameters aren't going to fix the source issue.

Looking at Battlefield 1 and Battlefront - damn I really hope 343i pursue photogrammetry for Halo 6. Battlefront had more players, and was a multiplat, yet it still looked better than H5.

Edit: don't listen to me though. I know nothing about tech.
