For most casual players REQs are, at best, an insurmountable wall that can never be climbed. That's somewhat alleviated by some of the best REQs being lower level (The Answer, Oni Hog, Scourge of Fire, Hailstorm, Whiplash, Blood of Suban, ect) but also makes some of the desirable armor and weapons completely impossible to get (Phaetons, Oni/Hannibal Tank/Mantis, Mark IV/V, Wrath, Nornfang, H2BR, ect).
The gulf between those two tiers of usable REQs is vast. You might get Noble early, but you're going to be trudging through a million differentiated but functionally identical and poorly designed sets of armor with different white line patterns, nearly 100 weapon skins, a bunch of utterly useless or obsolete weapons and vehicles, and so on. It's outright despair educing if REQs are the carrot that's propelling you forward and motivating you to play.
There are so many redundant or outright worse REQs, especially at this stage in the meta. There should be an article or a list that discusses this and I'm surprised there isn't already one.
