I think it's getting to the point that people need to get fired. How can you fuck this up? HOW? This is the most important thing coming out this fall for the Xbox. It's moving boxes and they're going to drop the ball like this?
There's nothing wrong with returning the game. People just need to keep it to themselves because I'm pretty sure no one actually cares if someone else returns the game.
If someone here actually cares about someone else's purchasing habits, please raise your hand.
I like how it's cool to bicker about the game being broken, but claim it works and get a crap ton of snark thrown at you.
MM is fucked prob until next patch, go FC4
i totally agree with this post. what a train wreck for a big ip.I got a refund from MS. But my heart goes out to those that stuck with this (hoping for a quick fix). You guys don't deserve this. This is totally unacceptable. This game shouldn't have been released in its state. MS should be ashamed of themselves, that they would allow their flagship franchise to release in this condition. I don't care if they really wanted this to be a major sell during the Holidays. If it wasn't ready to be released, it shouldn't have been. It's terrible that they pushed this out, considering that so many of the fans that are buying this have been loyal to the series/franchise and had a reasonable expectation. They bought this game, assuming they were going to get a quality product.
In the long run, this will just do more damage then any gains they might have received. This is going to really hurt a lot of goodwill people had to 343 and the series on a whole.
Anyways, I just hope this gets fixed. I know a lot of people here are super passionate about this series, and just want to enjoy it. They just want to enjoy what they paid $60 for. If they ever do 100% fix this, I'll jump back in. But this is a really big disappointment. And at least to me, X1 was really going in a good direction with Spencer, and games like Sunset being released.
You're implying that I meant anything that I said as everything somehow being the consumer's fault.
No. It's fucking not. And I never implied anything of the sort.
Refund and move on. Voice your displeasure in a reasonable fashion, not like some sophomore in high school.
Maybe, personally, I'm sounding way too nice.
With the state of the MCC and this patch... the Halo 5 beta should be fucking hilarious.
So does it work yet or is it still a $60 digital paperweight?

Have you read your own posts? You are kind of making your own bed here...
This type of attitude honestly disgusts me.
People have EVERY RIGHT to be upset about a game they paid SIXTY DOLLARS for.
As a consumer, I demand the products I purchase to work as promised.
If you're not upset about buying a broken piece of software, that's perfectly fine, but other people are allowed to be frustrated about this.
I bought an XB1 mainly for Halo games and I'm pretty upset with myself. Thankfully I'm mainly a SP guy, so it's not the end of the world for me, personally...but I COMPLETELY understand why it is for many in the Halo community.
Getting tired of these self appointed mods trying to tell customers what to do. I usually expect this type of drivel from some juniors before they wise up.
$60 for 2 Betas
After about a minute of searching, I was placed into a fun 4v4 single-flag CTF match, and no one quit, either. It was classic Halo gold. However, all of our emblems were messed up.
But the shooting is sublimeThey're the only ones to be hostile at. They released a game in an unready state and people have paid money for it.
I don't really get it. They didn't do their job right. They fucked up. People are telling them they fucked up, and some more angrily than others. From what I can tell people are getting more angry now because this new patch is out and for many it has either made problems worse or didn't fix old ones. This is the natural progression of consumer displeasure.
Just like with DriveClub. People were willing to maybe look past it if it was a week or something things weren't working. But then things didn't go a week, it kept going. And going. And going. And we still don't have DC PS+ edition. Shit is ridiculous.
Things aren't there yet with Halo:MCC, but it started out bad, and now we have a new patch and for many people it's just as bad if not worse now.
Anger is a justified response to spending $60 on an unfinished product. Telling people to play other games or its single player is not a solution to that anger.
$60 for 2 Betas
Partially. I've had spurts where I've been able to find games almost instantly (15-20 seconds) and other times where I have to restart after a few minutes of waiting. So in my experience slightly better but still broken.
They are not defendin it. They are pointing out how fucking childish you are being. Yes it sucks that you spent your hard earned money on a game that is not working at the moment. You dnot think 343 is working to fix these issues as quickly as possible? You think they pushed a game out the door knowing this would happen? Highly doubt it. The scope of the game is enormous and I would imagine very difficult to put together. People that are throwing hate at 343 like they pulled one over on consumers are retarded. They want this to succeed and work more than you do. Give the people who are busting their asses so that you can sit on yours a little bit of a break. Im sure the last thing they need is for people to throw their ignorant bullshit rants at them like they don't know what's going on with their own game. $60 is not the end of the world and if it is then you shouldn't be buying video games in the first place.

I find games quick alone, but the party issues are basically unchanged, and who wants to play Halo MP alone?
Yeah, the scope of the game is enormous. So it shouldn't have been released if it wasn't ready for consumers to pay $60. That's my issue with all of this. And yeah, $60 isn't the end of the world. But that doesn't make it any less right to treat people this way.
If they want it to succeed and work more than we do, they shouldn't have released it when they did. Sorry. Don't see what is ignorant/bullshit about that. Seems pretty common sense.
jesus fucking christ
you are a consumer
you ARE entitled to products that work
you SHOULD complain loudly when they fail to work
$60 is a lot of fucking money and who the hell are you to judge whether my desire to get games despite that is worth the sacrifice?
Stop the self-loathing and put these game companies to task. I cannot believe the shit I read sometimes. A bunch of people spend $60 on a game, and they gotta hear a legion of lemmings going around scolding them for being angry their game doesn't work right. This is like clown hour.
who wants to play Halo MP alone?
You're making the assumption that they knew this was going to happen?? You don't see anything wrong with that. In an environment where very few online games work perfectly out of the gate why is it a surprise that this one had issues as well?
Ah, the next Driveclub has arrived... Maybe now I can enjoy that game.
What posts are you talking about specifically, because people are saying they are entitled to a game that works for 60 dollars, but not close to thinking they own 343. This really feels like you read 3 posts and are attributing it to the overall tone of the thread. As I said above, not trying to tell people not to be upset. I am upset. I bought my Xbox One almost exclusively for Halo, to the point that aside from Ryse and Forza which I picked up at launch with my console, I have not purchased a single game for it until now.
It's not the anger I was responding to, just the level of anger and hostility. Dev's post here, and people basically saying "I gave you 60 bucks, I own you now" is not a productive or welcoming environment for fellow posters and devs. No different than the Frankie quotes about the sharpness of H2A. I will discuss resolution all day long, and I think it is hugely important, but making this a hostile environment for people who make games is not a trend I would like to see GAF follow.
I wish he would at least keep 'retarded' out of his posts if he wants to be an example of the ideal tone in a thread. He's saying voice your displeasure constructively. Demand a refund. Be civil.
It's basically tone policing, not telling people they can't complain at all.

This may very well go down as one of my biggest gaming disappointments. Halo 2 is arguably my all time favorite game, and the thought of playing it again online in 1080p 60fps sounded too good to be true.
It turns out, it was.
Since launch day, I've been able to connect to exactly six online matches. Even if they ever get it fixed (which I'm sure they will, eventually), I have little to no faith that they will be able to make the Halo 5 beta an enjoyable experience. Maybe I'll pick up that game used or discounted after they iron out all the shit THAT game will probably have.
There is like literally no way Halo 5 launches like this.

Played a good amount tonight. Matchmaking is waaaay better for me. Hell, I'll even call it "good enough"!
So what you're saying is that the SP and ui magically broke when they released the game?
You should read the ones about AC Unity too haha
It's nonsense is all it is.
Time and time again, loud and justified consumer anger has consistently shown to be one of the few methods that forces companies to rethink behavior or speed up fixes.
These so-called 'tone police' should go back to playing their single player gleefully and let the consumers who are angry voice their anger anyway they like.

Eh. I can see your point (about how people express their anger). I don't think that it's unreasonable for people to expect a fix ASAP (even if that means 343 working long hours into their holidays). It sucks for them, but this should have never been released to begin with if it wasn't ready.
Maybe MS needs to just get out in front, and offer full refunds to anyone that asks (make it an actual public thing). Or give them a free game. I dunno anything. I think they share a large part of the blame for getting this out when it did (instead of waiting). *shrugs*
