Halo: MCC Multiplayer "1th" patch "fix" live!

God I get so damn angry at people telling others to stop complaining and go outside, or get a life, or get a refund and get out of the thread.

Talk about the most worthless piece of crap post you could possibly make.

Someone in a different thread said something to the effect of this a few days ago, but it seems likely that everyone at 343 is killing themselves trying to get this fixed and everyone in PR has nothing to say because they aren't wasting everyone's time in meetings discussing what they're doing to solve this.

And I'm arguing about videogames on the internet instead of writing a paper about German economic policy.

The only comments I made before that were in the Review thread, about enjoying the game a lot - which was before the full extent of how bad the online issues were going to be became apparent.

I understand the frustration. I don't understand attacks on anyone when they have communicated that they are working to fix it. It would be slightly different if they came out and said "we give up, sorry". I just think it's ludacris.

Again, no one is attacking any specific person at 343. They are attacking the company as a whole for not delivering what they promised yet accepting their money.

Mine is doing thst now. Jumped from 7 to 24 to 33. And was paused super long at each one. Still waiting for it to come off of 33


And as I typed it jumped to 46.
 
The patch doesn't work? Like, what the fuck, lol.

This was the only game i was 100% willing to spend money this month, (between CoD, GTA, MCC). If it wasn't for GCU i wouldn't have even bothered.

The matchmaking alone barely upsets me, it's the page full of bugs that were found 24 hours after release and that's not even half of them. It's pretty embarrassing and borderline disrespectful to release a game like this, especially for one of the consoles TOP franchises. Pretty pitiful because this was a HUGE reason of why i even got an XBOX ONE.

says it all. It's illustrating that my tone is exactly the same about DriveClub as it is for Halo.

In fact, the similarities are remarkable - I like the core DriveClub game, I like the core Halo game. I am furious with both devs for releasing a broken, unfinished product.
 
Man this year has really been sucky as far as big game releases go. Hopefully people who want refunds at this point get them.
 
MM seems to be working now that the east coast went to sleep. Just got my ass ground into grass on ascension team slayer BR. Just like old times.

Okay, I'm really starting to think that the entirety of the patch didn't get shipped with the build. 'Cause it's either the console being an idiot or the download isn't as big as it should be.

Check their Twitter accounts. Even major nelsons. I'm not saying those are coming from GAF users, but I also don't think its a stretch to compare those responses with highly irrate responses here.
 
I'm watching Keemstar's livestream. He just got the glitch where it splits everybody in a 1v1v1v1v1v1 game of multi-team, so looks like that's still a thing.

It's a crap shoot. I was able to return Destiny for full price because I told the GameStop mgr that I hated the game and that it was a massive letdown.

No dice with MCC, though. And the clerk even knew about the mp problems.

The difference is that those messages are targeted towards a specific person. It doesn't matter if the responses are similar. This is a forum and people are just discussing it amongst themselves, so go complain on Twitter maybe?

How do you know it hasn't accomplished something? I doubt they would have released a patch as fast as they did if there wasn't as much backlash as there has been.

This happened to me like 3 days ago in a Halo 3 game:

This clip is a domino effect of WATs. First I try to move and see how laggy it is and go wat. Then I check the teams to see if like it was uneven teams or something. WAT. Then I try to kill myself with grenades but the grenades dont come out. WAAAAT. Then I try to kill this guy with melee behind his back. WAAAAAAAAT.

What's the trade in value like? If you can't get a refund that's the best next thing I guess. You could also try to go for an exchange/store credit. Stores are far more likely to give stuff like that rather than a flat out refund. At least from my experience anyway.
 
I went back to finish H2A campaign while more people downloaded the patch, and it actually seems much buggier than it did pre-patch. Enemies get stuck on objects or don't seem to notice you, checkpoints seem to register irregularly, and an incoming Phantom simply vanished halfway through Delta Halo (skipping the Hunter battle). Also, switching to Halo Channel to watch Terminals is still wonky as shit -- it won't let me watch them even though the achievement popped.

Pre-patch H:CE was pretty flawless, as was Cairo Station/Outskirts/Metropolis/Aribiter/Oracle (apart from the Terminal jankiness). Frustrating.
 
Alright, I'm about to get some sleep. But I'll just post my results again from tonight, post patch.

-First matchmaking search, flawless. Found players within 45 seconds.
-Search two and three connect to players, but lose connection at the last second. Search times were fast though.
-After that I played 9 straight games, all games connected to players between 25-45 seconds. No more drops, no connection fails, no crashes. It was fucking bliss.

All 'Team Halo 2: Anniversary'-playlist, solo, open nat, EastCoast, USA.

-Last but not least, MY FUCKING LEGENDARY CHECKPOINT. *poof* disafuckingppeared. I died so many times trying to clear that level, it's like a knife to the gut.

Good luck to you guys hanging in there, maybe things will improve as more people download the patch.

Sad thing about this is that your not even joking.

I'd like to see how you react in real life if you get sold a broken product that is non gaming related.
 
This is a real post on the Halo Waypoint forums

Everyone here is saying that the update made everything worse. Are you crazy? Are you insane? No it hasn't!
I promised to come back to these forums after the game was fixed, and it is fixed. I did 6 matches, all in varying playlists, with barely any difficulties. I did go into the Halo 2 playlist and had some trouble, but overall, I found a game in one minute or less. I'd say a 90% success rate in less than 5 minutes. That's astounding compared to how bad it was before. I had so much fun when I was playing, and now, because the problems are long gone (except the annoying team balancing), I will rate this game a 10/10 without any doubt in my mind. I believe that with my patience, I was rewarded, and now my $60 are very well spent.
Thank you 343 for fixing these problems, and thank you for such a great game. I'm not defending you for the problems, but I will defend you for the way you solved the problems you created.

I tried the get store credit with no luck. Trade-in value at BB was $42 as of a couple days ago. Ended up using it towards a new router yay! :-(

From reading the other thread it looks like hitting b to back out of mm causes issues for a couple of people, in that they then wont find any games until they reset.

So if you're struggling to find a game does it improve if you



A) quit halo fully (ie quit game via xbox home screen dont just exit and resume)
Or
B) hard reset the xbox

Does it get worse again if you back out from matchmaking with B?

Does it then get better again if you repeat either a or b above?

Is there anything I can do to try and get a game? 15 mins and I still haven't gotten my first game EVER.

There's gotta be something wrong on my end, I see people in my Roster playing MM.
