If it's like that, it's probably a setting you can change. But they didn't say anything about that, there was something on the HUD about weapon placements, but they didn't talk too much about it.

The HUD showed where weapons either were, are or were going to spawn but there was no specifics on that or if it would be a thing in game. Okay now I go. Also feel free to PM me with questions. What people need to remember is that some of this stuff is being tested still.
 
Guys, have weapon spawns been confirmed as random? One of my friends said he read it in one of the articles?

One article mentioned that, but none of the others have and 343 hasn't commented on that. Obviously every person on earth hopes it's not true, because that might be a worst decision than armor lock.

No, the score is on the left. It appears that a kill is worth 10 points, so it would be 500 points to win a standard slayer game.

the only way this makes sense is if weapon spawns are randomized, which i'm not sure is a good or bad thing.

most gamers can learn a map after just a handful of times playing, dont think they'd need to make a change like that to accommodate people that cant be bothered to play it even that much!

Did they put an explanation out Devo or do we have to wait and see?

Im going to keep hype expectations in check until they show more concrete footage, those very few short clips look really good. Gameplay looks awesome but im slightly worried about the sprint and new radar.

If this game has perks or armor abilities, i'll cry.

I hope that the only thing this game has is sprint, and that it's already built in.

But please for the love of god, do not have perks or armor abilities.

I'm wary of my character feeling "heavy" in anyway. That reminds of Reach and it's horrid player base traits. I want my zero fall damage and the ability to resume movement upon landing back.

Or maybe it was for the sake of the demo, and people just playing for the first time.

Or maybe it's a tutorial mode, for people just learning the map.

Or maybe it's like Gears of War where it shows the weapon spawns, and it isn't random.

I'd think the numbers to the right of the score just mean what place your team is in

Pretty sure that's what it is looking at the other clips of MP footage where the 1 is clearly seen for the team at the top, although it feels a bit redundant if they still make use of the team score switching up and down based on who is in the lead.

lol, i guess i should have added the only way it makes sense, TO ME or IMO. hell, i should probably add that to all my posts so there is never any confusion!

I'd do it, but I'm stuck at work and can only watch the YouTube version.

I am hoping that they mean powerful more so than the "weighed down with sandbags" feeling of Reach.

Isn't it a little odd that they'd be showing pre-alpha footage of a game in development for three years? Couldn't they show something more advanced or does the polish really come in that late in development? Or is this merely tempering expectations?

Content complete usually comes a few months before release, polish happens in the months after content complete. Usually the last 4ish months.

It would be nice for customs though. Have weapon respawn drops that you tag to a specific weapon (lets say; rockets) and you drop 3-4 respawn waypoints around the map and can either set the spawn locatations (1-4) or set to random.

Would make for crazy "fiesta" type games or you could set them across a neutral imaginary line but set them to random so that you have to control all of the middle of the map for a chance to consistently pick it up.

Could be very interesting if these options are available.

I'm rendering a slowed down version of the juicy parts. Didn't see much there. Ill upload in a few.

Which one are you talking about?

I wonder if someone from 343 can confirm no fall damage.

I bet the game is in alpha right now, but this pre-alpha footage, which is probably a few weeks old is used because they need a build they know is stable in order to show off.

I did frame-by-frame at the last thing. I hope you are talking about this:

All you can see is that there is something artificial in the background. Still I'd say it plays in the same area as the "daylight" sequences.

Not to be greedy here, but I hope some of the non traditional multiplayer stuff they're teasing involves a massive retooling of Forge into an actual map maker.

That lighting has me wet. It's like Far Cry 2 all over again.
Though I have more confidence Halo 4 will actually deliver.

The only thing that worries me is the reward unlock system. One of the biggest cons of their competitors being integrated into multiplayer is worrying. I hope we get details on that soon enough.

I didn't see anything slowing it down and freezing in sony vegas.

all in all a lighter reveal than I expected, but I found it awkward to reveal HAlo 4 with all the other games.

Spartans IV are much awesomer than I expected.
Graphics are clean and color exists also subdued.

Can't vouch for the sound but reactions imply it's great which is fine.

Can't wait for the new ennemy reveal.

Will dream about what forerunners look like in this engine until they are revealed.

Thanks for the show 343i, now get back to work and find a suitable reason to put "perks" in my Halo.

PS: the cinemtic take and the big changes to come have me giddy, in a good way like Franky says.

Before Reach came out it told myself to finally get into Halo multiplayer because it seems to have some neat ideas - I failed miserably.

After watching the reveal now, I am telling myself to get into Halo multiplayer with Halo 4 because it seems to have fresh ideas... let's see how it turns out :(

(I suck at fast-reaction shooting on consoles)
