FUCK YES.

Time to deliver you sneaky beaver.

I saved that in case it actually happened, good job Halo community <3

And as Hyper said, yes it's the Fincher one, and it's on Jimmy Fallon tomorrow (or whatever 10/18/2012 is to you) :)

Epitaph had power weapons (SMGs) littered across the map. It's your fault you didn't use them to crush the poor shotgun plebes

See how easy it is to guide a discussion? Gaf!

Anywho, I've decided to start using my avatar as a place where I show what music I'm currently hooked on. Last week was Muse's 2nd Law and this week is Beach Boys Surf's Up album.

Hopefully I'll get to share some of my sweet music taste with folks that are interested.

It is just one of those maps i can't nor won't like (for Team Slayer). The Pit is another, though i'll admit The Pit is objectively okay/good map (after playing it in Reach MLG). Just personal preferrence, my playstyle doesn't work in either one, too open for that.
One-sided objective games on Narrows were ok.

Apparently GameStop on 31 by the Rave is doing a midnight launch. We should discuss later.
I have a 20 dollar gift card to Best Buy and a LE preorder right now... I'll see if Gamestop is sold out.

Edit: They are sold out. I'm Best Buy or bust right now I guess.

You have a decent (very good, really) jump, you have a decent speed, and I'm glad we no longer can pick up grenades. For me at least, it makes you really think about how you should use them.

*off of dead bodies.

I welcome the change too. I get pissed at nades in Reach. Didn't get pissed once during H4. If you nade someone, you deserved to nade someone. Gotta think when you use them now.

By the way, did anyone pay attention if nades give you hit markers?

How do betrayal/suicide respawn penalties work in gametypes with instant respawn? Can Franklinator still insta-spawn after he suicide-betrays me in every fucking match?

I didn't know my accidental throwing of sticky grenades at you made you so angry. I suppose I'll stop, haha

edit: Worst Halo map is Sword Base, easily

Well I feel if you down an opponent holding some (probably) much needed ammo, you deserve the opportunity to reap them.

I'd feel better about starting with no grenades than to not have the ability to pick them up off of fallen players.

How does the Walmart armor thingy for $.35 work? I bought it, and got a PIN to use to get my email with the Vudu code. I'm guessing I'll get an email for the armor code November 6th? I already got my Vudu stuff.

Personally, this sounds like you're setting yourself up for failure.

And yeah Dax I dont understand why you would roll without an AA? Its best to have one there and forget about it until you really need it than just not have it at all.

Hey Dax, regarding feeling like you didn't really need AA's, wouldn't you see that changing once the game comes out and everyone is familiar with the game and AA's? I'm envisioning that once everyone gets their hands on the game and gets used to it and is using AA's, you would to pick it up as well in that regard, or at the very least maybe counter-pick enemy AA's? Great write-ups by the way.

Let's break the AAs down one by one:
1. Jetpack: Easy target when flying in the air.
2. Regenerator: Useless to deploy during a fight, and probably just as safe as sprinting somewhere else afterwards.
3. PV: Radar
4. Auto Sentry: Useless to deploy during a fight. How often are you going to get kills with this thing?
5. Hologram: You don't counter hologram; you get fooled by it.
6. Hardlight shield: defensive.
7. Active Camo: You know who's using it and when they're coming. I guess HLS would help prevent these guys from getting the drop on you, but if you're careful and know the maps, I think you'll be fine.
8. Thruster pack: Admittedly, I didn't fight against this much, but seeing as how a player's hitbox doesn't change, can't fire while they thrust, and it shouldn't be a problem because all it comes down to is...

The base traits for the player in Halo 4 are enough to put one on an even footing with an AA user. The point that people aren't used to AAs and don't know how to use 'em properly is a good one, and could very well be the case for the level playing field I felt. However, if you look at the AAs individually, none – except maybe thruster pack – give you an offensive advantage in combat. Even in Reach where AAs dominated more because the base player traits were more grounded, I just ran around with Sprint – and I have that by default in Halo 4.

And, I mean, it's a gamble to find yourself in the right situation with the right armor ability. I mean, in a situation in which, say Regenerator is your best bet, I'm just as likely to die if I have hologram as if I had nothing at all.

I already redeemed one, and got the $4.99 Vudu credit. I'm guessing I'll be getting another email on November 6th with the armor skin.

Also: I bought 2 extra of these things, and I'm going to be giving them away if anyone's interested. That's right, HaloGAF; I love you $.78 worth. The codes I'm giving are Walmart pins. Redeem them here, and you get an email with a code for $4.99 VUDU credit now and a code for that armor skin on November 6th (at least that's how I think it works).

I'll give away the first one at 8 PM Central time (about half an hour from now)

Also, there's a code for $4.99 VUDU credit in this post. You can redeem them here. Quote to reveal

Yes, but not having an AA at all is worse than having one you don't need.

Also, remember you're playing people who haven't had extensive time with the game. Also people who aren't trying to abuse mechanics yet.

It's cool that you feel the game is great, even without AAs, but going without a tool when everyone else is using them is asking to get stomped.

And while radar is basically the promethean vision, you can spawn, check the PV to see where the enemies that are pretty far away are, and move either towards away before radar comes into play. I think it will be a good anti camping tool too. Other than it and thruster pack (which just looks badass), I would say that yeah a lot of it is not going to be so noticeable/annoying.
