I'm watching the forge video right. This looks incredible. Especially Impact...is it an asteroid in an asteroid field?
Seems like. So we have the Halo ring Forge environment, a UNSC asteroid Forge environment, and a...?

That's a static building on the map, not a forge piece at all. It's similar in function to the forerunner building seen in The Ravine (from the RTX forge reveal.)Probably a locked piece.

The magnetize feature is pretty good and will help a lot of people to create better maps. In a lot of the community created maps edges stick out, Forge parts aren't connected properly or there are some gaps. Furthermore there is the dynamic lighting which makes the map look better in a lot of ways. Small changes and addition. How does what we're seeing there make Forge play better?
Exclusive Halo 4 Forge Info Gamespot
Haven't watched it yet, just saw it on the front page.
EDIT: Shows new environments! Space :O
so.. let me get this straight theres a color selector to choose your spartan color but we can't do the same in forge. after 5 years.
is this correct?
So, Meltdown on thursday?
Whoa!
So I love the envrionment, much easier on the eye. However we moved from 50 shades of grey to 50 shades of white. It looks better, and the lighting helps, but I am underwhelmed.
This will suffer the same repetitive issues that Forge did with Reach.. At least the base environment is easier on the eye. The other one that looks like Forge World looks awful though.
I'm with you on this. At least have a few base color options or something... maybe separate pallets on the same map. It would be nice to have some real options so maps don't have the same, bland and repetitive look.
One thing I noticed in the Forge video is that he says "This map uses a UNSC Forge palette" in a way that seems like maybe there are other palettes...
Eep - when did this happen? (There are no dates on the usage rules page; seems hard to figure out when pieces are changed...)
Guess I have to scrap my FUD porn parody now.
Back to the drawing board, Sai Kun.
The magnetize feature is a bit overrated if you ask me. It was already easy to align pieces in Reach using the coordinate system and I don't see people saving a lot of time using the magnet system instead. It will hopefully make aligning angled objects easier, though. The magnetize feature is pretty good and will help a lot of people to create better maps. Oh it's totally the lighting, but I asked what do you see and you see an awful lot of yellow. Doesn't seem fair to suggest you're stuck with grey still.
I don't think I had ever seen this balance thing before. Is it some sort of skill rating?

It does help that there is also now some animating scenery objects. Like the core thing.
Well the bigger issue was like you mentioned objects with different depths that made alignment harder. I do hope they fixed that for the objects coming in from Reach--that would be a big timesaver and prolly help some of the phasing issues that hurt performance. The magnetize feature is a bit overrated if you ask me. Wow, amazing reveal. This map looks breathtaking.
Mass Effect vibes (good thing).
I like how it looks, glad to have a space map. Gives me Mass Effect vibes (good thing).

Oooh, Gravity Volumes affect vehicles as well as players.
Gray Man

That's it.
Now I want to replay the trilogy..

Did they bring back the clan system from halo 2?
Criticism can only make something better. But we already know Kyle's opinion. Find something wrong with everything, and that's his opinion.
i still dont like how forge made maps look.
please don't put them into normal matchmaking. make a community playlist pls
Kyle has a very good point about the colors. You need SOME way of being able to differentiate areas. I remember there was this one forgeworld citadel or midship remake that was built half in the colliseum, half out. And the lighting difference (despite being indoors) made a HUGE difference.
That map they showed, the symmetrical arena one, looked nice but so disorienting. The shitty forge world color "trims" were so small they were almost unnoticeable, and we were only allowed 2 small red and blue light sources per map.
Firebase Condor anyone?
So many themes in PM inboxes. Check 'em.
