Same here. But I can understand the reaction of Bungie. I wonder how Bungie feels about 343i.Without Halo, I wouldn't have given a crap about an RTS on console. That decision was a good one and resulted in a fantastic game.

Must download and play VIP. And Power Slayer.VIP was a slayer variant back in Halo 3 where team coordination is key to ensure the survival of your teams VIP.
On VIP each team has a VIP player which they must protect at all cost, players can toogle many options to change the way the game plays such as:
Influential VIP: stay next to your VIP to become a deadlier soldier.
Escort: on escort players must escort their VIPs to the destination points in order to win..
These are the default settings I came up with, you CAN and SHOULD make ones of your own, to better reflect your preferences.
VIP options:
Things you might find interesting:
A VIP assassinating another VIP will award him a Vipception and a handful of extra points.
Your VIPs gamertag will be displayed on your HUD when you are next to him.
You can toogle escort and other escort related options to play Influential VIP and Escort just as you remember them from Halo 3.

The Spartan Laser was just one of the interlocking gears in the Halo 3 vehicle-related disaster machine. What is basically a sniper rifle capable of a triple kill per shot with basically zero effort and almost literally zero warning to the victim is not a good piece of design. There does not need to be a long range antivehicle weapon - the entire point of having vehicles like the Warthog or the Ghost or the single good incarnation of the Banshee, is that they're capable of hit-and-run attacks that, if done well, can go uncontested. They're shouldn't be effective at long-range either (which is one of the many, many reasons putting the Scorpion in matchmaking is a boneheaded decision), and are usually balanced by having programmed inaccuracy in their main guns (the well-balanced Warthog versions were never pinpoint accurate, so you had to get close...and even then you didn't melt people). Introducing something that basically stops the hit-and-run in its tracks from one end of the map to the other breaks that dynamic.
It's just not interesting to use or fight against, like something as smart as the Plasma Launcher in Reach was - that weapon took the idea of the laser and Halo 2's lock-on rockets, and combined their best elements. Travel time on projectiles, a blaringly loud, obvious, directional warning that can be heard throughout its entire effective range (which the laser certainly didn't - a hairline tracer and a chargeup the driver could never hear didn't accomplish anything), and a projectile tracking rate that, when combined with the travel time, accomplished two things: it allowed a good driver to maneuver and avoid them if they were good, and it forced smart play from the weapon user because your positioning had to be right in order to be optimally effective. The laser, by contrast, is a zero-effort cudgel that didn't even work well in an environment where everything vehicle-related was balanced upwards to the point of being ridiculous.
Because the charge sound permeated its entire tracking range - if you heard it, you knew instantly that you were in danger. It wasn't localized to a relatively tiny area within a massive effective range like the laser's was. Hear sound, put something between you and where you think the user is. It's a really elegant piece of design, and succeeds where the laser's "warnings" failed specifically because the range of the sound matched the effective range of the weapon.i'm not sure how the sound (favorite weapon sound in halo) was helpful for avoidance depending on distance.
Clip editing on xbone ain't half bad. https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=ca71...81&ithint=video,.mp4&authkey=!APoUAt5CMCaNdQ0
clip looks great, quality greatly improved over launch week
turn off tips & tutorials!
Halo 3 VIP was terrible, but that sounds awesome. Thanks Gabotron.

Well I can't argue with that its a shame decent weapons introduced on reach weren't carried forward.
What did you think of the focus rifle?
Seems like he was playing "air superiority" which have a completely different set of maps. AFAIK you need China Rising in order to play that playlist.Which map is that? DLC?
I was playing BF4 last night and time flew by like nothing. Got home from work, started up and before I knew it I looked at the time and it was 11pm. It's been a long time where time flew by like this while I was playing.
One of the most FUN weapons in any Halo game gets removed.. FOR WHAT?! It was also the best Grenade Launcher in any video game IMO, excluding Goldeneye's sexy beast.
'Tis some bullshit.

You people and your grenade launcher, you are bad people. Unless you'd like it back without the EMP effect, then you are okay.
I never got good with it. But it was a decent splash/close quarters chaos provider in narrow hallways.
About to go into an interoffice elimination tourney in a new mode in the Xbox One game. It's going to be a SLAUGHTER. We are going to get mercilessly pounded at 60fps. And there are only two weapons allowed.
I don't think the idea was executed all that well. Harassment weapons just don't make for a really fun experience for most players. It really ended up being sort of a waste of time and effort since you had to commit so heavily to each individual target and your reward is almost always an assist. It might have been different if the weapon had headshot damage and wasn't location-agnostic. Even then, a weapon that is basically just holding a trigger and painting a target for an extended period of time...it's just not that interesting to use. What did you think of the focus rifle?
First screenshot of Halo 5 needs that weapon in hand facing off against this vehicle:
lmfao I hate you.
Yeah that's the thing I liked about it; it took some skill to be efficient with. Few things in Reach were as rewarding as leading a Grenade shot from deep, disabling a menacing Banshee as it plummets to its death or gets hijacked.
The best "wait for it" gun ever was the Redeemer from Unreal. Even if I only got one kill, flying it around for as long as possible before detonating was one of my favorite trolls.

You had to be careful though, people could shoot it down...
Your team shoul've been in the Gold bracket.

Can't we just go ahead an announce the title? It'll be really s p e c i a l.

Further, you're never on BF4 at night when we play.
I literally still owe Luke Smith and Paul Bertone that steak. Never got around to actually eating it.

I am sticking with my Recon scheme however.

This is legitimately the first Halo One/5 news we have since E3.
All I can think is: Yo, we heard you like entertainment so we put more entertainment in yo entertainment while you are being entertained. My boss asked me why quick game modes (like SWAT, any mode where elimination happens etc) are so attractive and I pointed out that you can Snap TV (or whatever) while waiting for rounds to start on the Xbone. It will make my one hour recumbent bike seshes 100% dense with entertainment.
But the SIIIs and remaining SIIs have been incorporated into the SIVs now.
So, here's an example of something the coloring dude's worked on before.
And now back to this.
Who wants to bet whoever 343's comic director was limping to the barn to make some totally radical suggestions like "let's focus on high-contrast colors and hard blacks and whites to make it feel real and earthy and gritty, and try to appease some of those good old 90's comic fans." Or maybe even "guys, I'm not sure that people are going to get what CTF means - go ahead and replace 'On it, ma'am' with 'CAPTURE THE FLAG!' It should really liven things up and it's a little closer to our vision. I mean, otherwise, how would someone completely new to the series that somehow started with a one-off comic nobody but the fat nerds at NeoGAF.com are going to read understand what's going on?"
Incorrect. I have posted a couple of these really deep insightful mentions since E3. lol.
I played my first 60fps game last week after buying Metal Gear Rising and boy, I now know why you guys where so crazy about it. Everything just feels and moves really good!
Edit: I guess Slayer is now Elimination, I like it.
