I was pretty upset when I heard this. I thought it was 08 PoP and I was really excited to snag it for $5 and play through it again.

At least for me, that game against those inheritors was one of those awful experiences where I just felt like a complete child against those guys. I couldn't ever get a decent shot on them, where they always had two guys on me just like a second off spawn. No fun.
Sad thing is, those other 20 games the rest of the night were just like that, but the roles were reversed. Can't believe how those guys have any fun with this game with matchmaking like this. Finding a close Halo game is like striking gold at this point.

Driving the Mongoose is better in Reach, since its doesn't crash and roll 20 feet every time it lands. The entire premise is still bad. Not as bad as 3 where you can just sit in the middle of the map (Valhalla) and win the whole thing by yourself. Forcing players in the vehicle is good, but still the whole just... awful.
Grifball is and always will be bad because of the Hammer and latency issues. What "physics" ruined them?

I like the gametype of rocket race in Reach more, but Halo 3 made some better maps for it than Reach.

Was mainly waiting til entrants were finalized. And to see if kittens wanted to be a captain.
I don't like the maps for it, either, but to be honest the only one I didn't hate in H3 for it was Sandtrap because of the dunes. Felt better to drive around in, although Avlanche wasn't too bad for it. Still never showed up.

Sandtrap made it worth it. Reach doesn't have a map like that, that's just great for the gametype.

I just got another 360 and Halo Reach for the first time after my last 360 broke so I haven't played a Halo game since Halo 3. It feels so good to be back just because of how unique the game is in today's market. It's just a shame because EVERYONE that I had on my friends list, real friends included, deleted me to make room after not signing in for so long so I feel like I'm screwed when I play online since I was used to partying up and dominating. I'm sure I'll get the hang of the game and be really good again but it sucks to be on the losing end because I'm a team player and always want more teamwork.
Anyway, if anyone is down for any 360 games and of course Halo 4 when it comes out, add "DemoUSAF" if you have room. I'd love to play a lot again before my hands get too bad to play. It seems that the controller helps out more than the Dualshock 3 does due to how you grip it. Keep in mind if you do add me that I'm on a lot of medication late at night so I'll still play good 90% of the time, but I'm not always consistent depending on what's flowing through my veins, lol. No matter what, I'm a good meatshield for getting the flag and shit, lol.
So is the Halo Anniversary worth it to you guys or does its gameplay feel a little dated now? Amazing how simple changes make going back to some games so difficult, lol.

I'd say it's worth picking up, the visual makeover is beautiful (barring Forerunner doors) and it still holds up as the best Halo campaign next to ODST. There's a sense of gravitas to a lot of the weaponry and vehicles that haven't been replicated in the series since, so it's refreshing to go back to it. Explosives have never been as fun to use in any Halo as they were in CE. Though keep in mind there is no actual CE multiplayer in Anniversary, just a code for a map pack of classics for Reach, or you can play them directly off the Anniversary disc.
It does feel a little dated, but the campaign is still fantastic.
It also looks pretty good, and the terminals and skulls are nice additions.
I'd say it's definitely worth picking up.

The only thing that really feels dated to me about Halo CE is the copy/paste corridor level design in some of the interior sections. Mainly Truth and Reconciliation and Attack on the Control Room. The gunplay, weapon sandbox, player physics, and enemy AI still make the game incredibly fun though. The new coat of paint is mostly gorgeous and the new sound effects are fantastic. CEA has a couple rough edges, but I say it's definitely worth it.

I recommend picking up Anniversary. Halo: CE is still a lot of fun to play, but it does feel dated it certain respects.

Happens on wireless too. I have 4 no slow wired controllers, i'm really lucky.
IMO a wired controller feels better than a wireless. They do actually have less input lag than wireless ones, some 40-50 milliseconds less if i recall correctly.
Starting to hate wireless controllers, i have 5 of those, all of them have slowturn in addition to other issues.
Another reason i'm not keen on getting Xbox 720, i don't trust its controllers to be good quality. Buying a third party controller is no feasible (like the MLG one), high cost+shipping (very likely to be tens of euros at least) is way too much.

Forgotten Sands is actually a blast. It should have gotten more press as it's quite a solid game. The plot isn't amazing, but the gameplay is fun. Worth $5 for sure.
The problem I have with buying a wired controller is that none of them have the new D-pad.
