didnt they say the same thing about reach?
one thing bungie is good at is overhyping their games.
As much as I would love a PAX reveal, I'm not getting my hopes up. Right now I think January is more likely, if only because they keep saying "See you in 2013".
HaloGAF Radio mp3 is cooking now, I'll let you know once it's updated.
YouTube version will have to wait until tomorrow evening, that usually takes an hour or two to accomplish (since I have to render an 80 minute video first) and I'm heading to bed shortly.

Bungies "Swan Song: A second attempt"
Lol. Unless it's the best game ever, no buy. I'm still hurtin'.
Oh me saying PAX was most certainly tongue in cheek.Aye, they've reiterated a few times now that this is not the year, next year is. Given a likely 2013 release, a reveal early in the year makes sense. I'll be surprised if we don't see it in Q1.
Oh me saying PAX was most certainly tongue in cheek.
im going to buy but not gonna get sucked into the hype.
And I still don't have my passport. Ffffuuuuuck.Oh PAX isn't that far away. Just another month now...
Oh ok. Height info is standard on the motion tracker right?
And I still don't have my passport. Ffffuuuuuck.
So those CMT guys that did the Truth and Reconciliation SPv3 mod are tackling Silent Cartographer next.

That's not what swan song means. Reach was Bungie's swan song to halo, their final effort. Something doesn't have to be "good" to be a swan song.Bungies "Swan Song: A second attempt"

Sorry for the off topic post earlier. On the topic of Halo though, this sounds incredibly cool.
Halo Venerance, a Cryengine 3 total conversion.
That mother was incredibly attractive, no jokes here.
Just added a red stripe to get an idea of the final design. When I've got all the dings filled in I'm going to spray it a medium grey color with black accents around the visor. I'm liking the satin red stripe though.

Little English Halo Blog listing all 10 New Weapons, at least what they think based off pictures.
Mystery Weapon 3 looks like it can do some damage. Not really sure how reliable this is since its based off images and screens but I didn't notice a couple of the weapons.
I've been going since the tickets went up on the first day.Wait you're going to PAX? That's awesome.
GG guys
Oh, and Octagon is bad

Top of the list baybee. Since when were you going?
I actually find getting headshots in Halo much more difficult than just about any PC game, because aiming with the mouse is, as you say, so much more precise. Therefore much less 'impressive' when they actually happen. Also, try playing halo 2 with a mouse; you'll get shit on by a competent player with a controller; strafe is terrible with input from WASD.
Headshots don't exist in any version of quake, either. However railing someone from across the field always DID feel pretty amazing.
So the precision of the mouse doesn't really do anything to make me want to watch those games more, the best pros in Halo don't miss sniper shots either. They are ultimately very different games, but I really don't agree with your argument that any of them are more or less competitive in certain circumstances.
I'd almost say the mouse being so precise is sometimes a detriment to some games now, as the designers are trying to make games more and more realistic in terms of damage models and realistic weapons, but then you're aiming and shooting with something that gives you laser-like precision.

My thinking about the mouse versus the controller is; a player with a mouse has zero auto aim, aim assist etc. (I believe at least) A player using the mouse is neither hindered nor helped by the game, where on the other hand a player using the controller has to deal with aim acceleration, aim assist, auto aim and less precise aim.
Of course now that I think about this, it is kind of all rendered mute (my angle on arguing quake and counterstrike are better competitively because of mouse vs controller) because players are all on even footing in their respective games.
On a different note, halo recently has been becoming less and less competitive, due to poor maps, easier aiming and many other need-not-be-named mechanics and features. Basically someone said it best here, when playing halo (newer versions of the game) it feels like we are increasingly having to deal with fighting the game rather than the players. (things like spread on the br h3, bloom in halo reach, spongy aiming in halo 3, massive aim acceleration in halo reach, less responsive strafe with each successive halo)
Whereas it is my impression that in games like counterstrike and quake this type of "having to fight the game" is not as apparent.
I guess we could just ask any one of those who played it already. From that info, I'd say it isn't. With the perk, you get a bigger radar range and height intel.

In the flesh baby.holy h*ck you're going to pax :3
Quake is a game with freedom of mobility; the sheer movement mechanics in that game have a skill gap. There aren't headshots or limb specific damage or anything like that, but juggling your entire weapons arsenal, getting airshots with rockets, and nailing more LG hits in at breakneck speed all demand way more than adjusting yourself to get the headshot after stripping a shield with bodyshots. LG in particular is just intense because there is never a gap, it's about constant tracking.I actually find getting headshots in Halo much more difficult than just about any PC game, because aiming with the mouse is, as you say, so much more precise. As in there are instructions on how to win something at a random point in the show. First come first serve.

No arguing that headshots are harder to nail on a controller than a mouse, but that extra speed only works to bring up the reflex required for such duels. Though I'm not here to blab about one game better than another because of competitive blah blah blah. Quake is more duel 1v1 oriented, Halo is more team oriented.
PM sent. You know...per the instructions.
lolzzzz You're not supposed to send the PM to me
Yeah Bungie has made it pretty clear that the game won't be revealed until next year.As much as I would love a PAX reveal, I'm not getting my hopes up. Right now I think January is more likely, if only because they keep saying "See you in 2013".

That was the question. I assume so, but I'm not totally sure.Oh ok. Height info is standard on the motion tracker right?
lolzzzz did you check your PMs? Because I definitely sent it to the right person.
also, scrubs get on reach. Juices and I need 2.
LOL Nice dude. The shadow realm is my bitch.
I don't think there was. Mostly seems like Alpha stuff Bungie folk took home.Wait there was Destiny reveal talk? I am not expecting anything until the new Xbox reveal since we know its a cross generation title.
If Destiny comes as a launch title alongside the 360 version and it looks like BF4 late next year or early 2014. If BF4 has a 64 player Xbox Infinity version, those two games would definitely make me get new Xbox at launch, which I typically don't do.
