Hello HaloGAF. Been lurking here for quite some time. I got approved about the same time as a lot of the other new juniors but decided not to post until most of that insanity was sorted out. I look forward to getting to know you all and grabbing some Halo matches.

It is the calm before the storm. Mostly I am waiting on pax and other events where halo is located to get my posting on. Guessing it is the same for many others. Until then I (we) have nothing to post or "complain" about depending on how you view it.

Its been one of a few games that I can sit and play for a long time straight. Most games I need breaks from but this one I can just keep playing. Great action and pacing. I have yet to feel bored playing it.

I never finished the first one (mainly just no time). I really need to go back and do that; I keep hearing nothing but great things about the second one.

So, like Spike, my account was approved around the same time the mass influx of juniors was and I thought I'd refrain from posting for a bit. This thread moves at the pace of a jet sometimes. Anyway, I've lurked here since around October when I was looking for some CEA info. Since then I've been lurking here and have witnessed many HaloGAF civil wars. Hopefully you will all accept me into your community and I look forward to getting to know all of you.

I'm trying to get through Halo Wars on Legendary... but it's a little too hard for me. I'm a PC RTS player; something about Halo Wars just doesn't click with me... not to mention for some reason the campaign is really boring which makes the whole thing a chore to do (cutscenes aside, of course).

Ive probably missed it already, but i got Counter Strike GO yesterday. I love it. I used to play Counter Strike on the OG Xbox all the time.

What does you guys think of it?

Any halo-gaffers play?

Love dungeon crawlers and RPGs, DS2 nails them both.

(I definitely agree, though. The inability to hotkey units, while understandable, blows my Starcraft-honed sensibilities out of whack. My map management is weak in Wars.)

Build up your units, bases, and research everything to its Max when playing on Legendary since the enemy A.I. can overwhelm easily. The last mission on Legendary is the most difficult, mainly because it's timed and you must unlock divided panels and acquire multiple bases. I use Power Units like ODSTs and Grizzlies most of my gaming experience. Invest on Hawks for the last mission, it'll help a lot!

Also, have 2 vehicle pad, air-pad, or barracks to faster produce more units. Research on "Reserves" to Boost your rate at producing units.

Have you guys playing CSGO had much lag today? I played(tried would probably be the better word) yesterday the trial and it lagged like crazy. I got into games and couldn't even do anything besides move. It was a blast against bots and I know online would be sick but I don't wanna pay if it doesn't work.

I've had some lag, yeah. Namely bullets not registering, it can get frustrating.

As for your not being able to anything other than move problem, you have to reset the button mapping for it to be fixed.

Reach recently decided my NAT was moderate, after about a week it reset to open again. Never touched my router or settings (it was such a pain to set the ports and static IP the first time...)

I'd let it be and see if it sorts itself.

Thanks for the tips!

One of the main problems I find with the game is the extremely low pop count. It just seems odd having a main force of only like ~15 or so units... any other RTS game and that would be considered my 'scouting' force... though I guess I'll get used to it eventually.

If you're ever interested in playing, my GT is randomrosso93. I want to get through it all before Halo 4 (By "all" I mean that I'm going through the entire series on Legendary.. Halo Wars is the only game to give me so much trouble. )

reach keeps fucking around with my connection. one moment my nat is closed another its opened.
cod has got to be the worst for me though. i keep getting booted from lobbies, disconnected from the server

Yea Reach is getting ridiculous with this NAT shit. Mine went back to Moderate again even though I set my Xbox to DMZ and it WAS open and most likely IS, because if I just set it to DMZ and reset Reach and the router it goes to open. With the same settings...

Think its something with the old dashboard and new dashboard messing stuff up ?

Added. I need the Heroic/Par Time Achievement, All Coop Achievement, Heroic/Legendary difficulty achievements, and General, so I'm up for multi boosting too :) Last damn achievements and I'll have finished off the series.

Awesome:)

On the account you added I've got next to no achievements in the game (though I have completed it on Heroic in an offline profile... never could be bothered doing it again until now), but I'm only going through campaign anyway. Don't really care for others, but will help if you need it.

I was assuming they started on a PC, because of the reference to getting him a Mac. Either way, if you're losing data that often, I think it's more likely the user than the hardware :)

Fly me out there, 343i! I cost less than Geek Squad, and I'm better dressed! (Except for my Jesus sandles. But I've had them for a decade, hell if I'm getting rid of them now.)
