Halo |OT9| One Final Effort Is All That Remains

That would be quite odd, no?

Regardless, it's just a waste of resources... It's not like grass is overly prominent in general Halo environments anyway. That footage looks like a cutscene.

It's not unheard of, pretty sure that's how Viva Pinata did it.

But you're quite right, it's totally unnecessary.

I don't know if it was the TVs using some 120hz modes or what, but at PAX it looked better than 30. I'd guess it was a TV setting though.

Yeah, PAX frame rate was solid. No really huge maps on display, but even when things got crazy and both teams collided on the small maps, I never noticed a dip.

30 is fine. With game camera tech these days you can fudge > 30fps with capped 30fps.

Lets hope they fixed the bug when you set a forge grid to normal physics whilst merged into natural environment. When that happened, "seconds per frame" was a better measure for frame-rate.

When I'm bored, I'll set a Grid to Normal, start spinning it, then fling it across Forge World. It's like russian roulette except with your 360's GPU.

A couple of thoughts from playing through the anniversary campaign. This campaign on heroic feels more difficult than at least ODST and Reach (haven't played 2 and 3 recently enough to comment). Having actual health seems like much more of a burden than it does in reach. Oftentimes I'll finish a firefight with one health bar left and not find a healthpack for several more encounters which leads to some difficult encounters.

Pistol is so powerful in the campaign. It absolutely rips through hunters. Also, shotgunning flood feels great. My one major complaint is the mazelike quality of some of the interiors. The fact that the library needs arrows on the floor pointing what direction to go might be indicative of some bad level design.

Library isn't that bad. Never understood why people had trouble navigating.

I'd say the opposite with older games 30 fps was fine but with all the graphics n details we have now you want more so you don't lose that quality in blurring n rough animation.

Usually I turn off all of the "enhancements" that a TV has to get the best picture quality. Here's to hoping the PAX build was simply smooth and buttery without any TV marketing gimmicks turned on.

Well of course, the higher the frame-rate, the better, but to squeeze what they have out of the 360, 30fps is a fine compromise (if you could call it a compromise)

I hope that there are more than 3 promethean enemy classes. Seems like a little small when you compare them to the Covenant.

I too hope we get to see more new enemies. I know there is a wide variety of Promethean Knight classes, but still, I am hoping that we get to go toe to toe with actual Forerunners. Maybe they're saving that for Halo 5. Outside of the assumed
Didact battle
. Who knows. That said, I loved the ViDoc. Halo 4 is easily my most anticipated title of the season.

I wish I could actually hit people with a grenade.

Also, bloom is essentially poor hit detection: the game mechanic.
This. Thank lawdie they are, essentially, removing it for 4. I heard it's only necessary at longggggg ranges to keep the DMR in check. That I am completely okay with.

Reach's bloom is just so grosssssssssss.

Yep, exactly.

It doesn't help that guest teammates throw their grenades also at me.

Jimmy knew that the squad didn't like him much when he threw a gernade into a crowd of covenant troops only to have it explode with confetti and streamers..... Jimmy hoped he would survive to implement his revenge....

He's just venting his anger after thinking Narrows was being remade. It was the only thing hyping him for Halo 4.

And that's a bad thing? I'm not getting my hopes up for any game after Reach, better to expect disappointment than take the blow when it arrives.

Eh. Still annoys me how they decided to kill him off.

His wasn't that bad, it was Noble 6's that annoyed me, he's supposed to be the best apart from MC, yet he doesn't know any martial arts in order to defend himself against a dagger... that's like one of the first things you learn at like white belt.

Inb4 he was injured so couldn't.

Noble Team Dying for dramtic effect really blows.

Jorge, Carter, Noble 6 and Jun are all characters id be interested in seeing developed in future halo titles if they had not been killed.

Anyone else curious as to how chief is going to react to the S4's aboard the Infinity or the S2's and S3's still alive?

They'll need to adapt.

"WHAT THE HELL GUYS? I WAS GONE LIKE A WEEK!"

"Chief, you've been missing for almost three years."

"Shit, really? Damn, what took you guys so long?"

It's not bad navigating because there are arrows on the floor telling you which way to go. The issue is how repetitive the area is that everything looks exactly the same.
In the original there were arrows? Didn't notice them at all. Hard to remember my first playthrough, but I'm pretty sure I just made sure I knew where 343GS was and followed him for the most of it.

Not quite (I do a martial art. Junior black belt at the moment). I'd say he did a decent job considering what he was up against, but it was lacking, yes - For a Spartan, anyway.

Would've been nice if one of the Spartans survived though. (Did Jun live? Totally forgot)

His fate is left uncertain, but considering he's not at Castle Base with Halsey and wasn't exfild in First Strike, I'd say he's dead or still chilling on Reach with Soren.

That's what I mean, if he was a normal human he would of done really well, but since he was a spartan who was supposed to be able to take on an army on his own, it was really a letdown.

We don't know about Jun, some people say he died while escorting Halsey, some people said he survived. Guess only 343 can clear that up in one of the coming campaigns.

Oh okay. Hopefully he died... I really hated how generic Bungie made him. "I kill the enemy, but do not hate them"....Typical 'sentimental sniper' attitude. EGH
