Halo: Reach Beta Thread

Will we be using our customizable armor as well as color in campaign, or just our armor we selected? Never was sure.

The only frustrating thing of Halo Reach's MP to me aside from one shitty map is grenades. Way too many times people use them as their primary weapon. That should never been the case in games. I would welcome 1 frag starts for all 4v4/FFA games for sure. Would love removal of all grenades from dead bodies as well, but who knows how that works out. The gun play and melee are perfectly fine, I think. I'm still getting use to melee in terms of health.
 
I'm predicting the beta being unplayable for the first two days if previous launches of big games are anyting to go by.

Does anyone know when it's going live in the UK?

As far as I'm concerned, Halo is coop. So campaign and firefight for me.

Though I really like Reach's MP. Can't wait for Invasion; objective-based coop style gameplay is more my thing.

And I need real objectives. Not flags. :lol

I'm glad Invasion is going up soon. Grab Bag is boring the fuck out of me, and I hate the unimaginative morons that keep choosing the same damn mode over and over again.

I'm so glad 3 plot is back, I love the speed of the game.

But all I can think about is invasion and generator defense; too bad it's only going to be available on the 14th.
 
I probably already know the answer, but is there anyway to 'reset' your stats in halo apart from making a whole new gamertag? My mom has a friend who often bring her little kid over and he loves to play halo, so he goes on my account and plays. He....isn't good and pretty much destroys my K/D ratio. I don't really care about stats all that much, but if I ever do happen to want to see how well I did, I can't because his sucky playing has poisoned my less sucky but still leave much to be desired playing. Is there any thing I can do about this?
 
Halo is not really age appropriate for a little kid...

I think you're pretty much out of luck. Maybe you can at least convince him to only play Social type games so your Ranked (Arena in Reach) can be just you.

I've had four years of friends playing Social Playlists on my tag in Halo 3 and some of them are pretty bad. But I'm only like 40 kills away from getting it back to 1.0 K/D in social games. I keep getting close and then someone else plays and racks up a lot more deaths. I see it as a challenge really.
 
Not really. What game, 3 or Reach? If it's Reach, who cares, it's a beta. If it's Halo 3, why do you care so much about stats of a three year old game?
 
I feel like such a peasant waiting for the Beta to open up for us non-privileged. It kinda kills my hype when it feels like most of GAF has already played the shit out of this for the last three days =\
 
I can't wait to destroy the new kids tomorrow. I've been getting owned more and more as each day has passed. I swear some of these people haven't stopped playing since Thursday.

We haven't.

It's mostly just Social like games. None of it is really ranked.

Good stuff starts tomorrow with Arena and then Friday with Invasion.

It's pretty bare bones on here, aside from unlocking new looks for your armor and going up in rank.

I don't care that much, but I'd like to salvage my stats if I can. Not a big deal if I don't, but I'd prefer to have it straight.

Ah well. It doesn't really bother me. At the very least, no one can use my stats against me :lol

I get the same feeling too. :S

I feel like such a plebe as i realize people are improving at a rapid rate, while my ability doesn't seem to be increasing.

Cosigned. Although I'm getting slightly more comfortable with some stuff, namely what the video earlier showed, calming down and lining them up under fire is still not there, as is counting shots.

That said most of my frustration usually comes from other players/teammates, and that is a good thing.

I half expected them to launch the full beta early (like, say, 20 minutes ago). I'm a peasant and a tool.

Thing is, I have some pretty amazing games, and then I have some pretty terrible games. The last day or so has been a string of terrible games, which put me in a funk.

Last night was incredible.

Uh what are you talking about, he won the game, everytime a specific area became the hill he would go there and get points.

And then when it wasn't that specific hill, he ran around and killed players so they would respawn and therefore be unable to get points.

Seems like a prefectly logical way to play king of the hill.

Invasion, Invasion, Invasion, I must have Invasion. Seriously, best part about Bad Company 2 is the Rush Mode. Heck, put Conquest in Halo as well.
