I know the other guy complaining about strafing is just grasping at straws...but thats taking it a little too seriously. Guess they've never heard of Unreal and Quake.

Somebody already mentioned Confirmation Bias. An understanding of that, and this portion of your failed satire is about all that's needed in response.


There's not a lot of "Beta Feedback" just a lot of bitching about abrasive changes.

Sill4 got the short version. Shorter big picture:

I'm getting used to the gunplay and movement, which was the source for my initial vitriol. Anger soothed. Most of the rest of the game rocks, with the exception of some things that are already being tweaked, and the melee system.

The game is great.

Well, in Halo 1, a Pistol would kill in three shots without any reticle bloom.

Slayer Pro is so good.
It's all so good.

Two things I've been thinking about/having trouble with:
1.) Sprint as an armor ability. I keep wanting to click the right stick to run, like in virtually every other modern shooter. I don't know how much of a difference it would make if sprint were a default ability. This isn't a huge issue, but it's weird considering you don't have to press "x" to run in any other 360 FPS.

2.) Clicking the right stick instead of the left trigger to zoom. I play bumper jumper, but I'm still so used to aiming with the left trigger in console games. I've thrown so many accidental grenades that way :lol

Is that the long version of "I can't think of a good response that actually addresses what you're talking about"?

A game's design choices =/= infallible from the fact that someone else made it how they wanted to. Or else all games would be near perfect.

Change to bumper jumper, get the jetpack, play powerhouse slayer, then find and map all the weapon spawns in your head and run the map. Oh and the DMR is the shit you'll be pro in no time!

I'd like if the blue sections of the in game HUD were a darker/deeper blue, that way you could see them regardless of the lighting conditions.

You must be crazy. I've been reading around that the game is perfect in every way, and that nothing needs or will be getting a nerf.

I've played like 10 matches of CoD4 total in my lifetime and haven't ever played Bad Company :lol

Been playing Borderlands on 360 lately, which is probably where the control confusion comes from.

Another note: I think Reach may have the most immaculate netcode I've ever seen. At my apartment, I typically get between .3 and .8 Mb/s download speeds, and I've seen maybe 15 seconds of noticeable lag between about 20 total games. It's incredible. Before Reach, I'd essentially given up on gaming online because of my terrible connection, but I set Reach to find me a good connection, and it's like I'm playing on a LAN. It blows my mind.

Not entirely true. If you hold down the trigger, the pistol fires with a pretty severe amount of bloom. But yeah, the rhythm of the bloom is a lot quicker than that of the DMR.

Arena is awesome first game i played i played against 1200 rank people boy that was my only good game all day =(. Next game i was up against 1700 people boy did my ass hurt. Now i'm in the 1500 group being mediocre =( put me back at the 1200 people i like winning :lol :lol

Can anyone from Bungie (or anyone in here who knows) confirm whether the insane stupidity of a decision to have stockpile base/indicator colours reversed, is being...reversed?

Why in god's name would the Blue base have a RED indicator? and vice versa.

Utter stupiditiy of the highest order.
 
There is something seriously wrong with the combination of Slayer Pro, No radar, Sprint, and Spawns.

You can call be noob or bad or whatever, but I was playing with dani and bagel in slayer pro on Powerhouse and it was god-awful.

We had the same problems even when we won.

People are spawning way too close to each other. The game switches spawns way to quickly. I can't tell you how many times I've had a surprise spawn by one or two people RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.

Combine that with the closing distance of sprint and it becomes a real problem. Please take out sprint in Slayer Pro and I am going to try and find my clips of terrible spawns.

Can't you choose your spawns?

Never once in my Halo career have I paid attention to what color team I'm on. Or any game for that matter. I shoot people without names and call signs over their head. It makes perfect sense to me for the friendly base to be blue, and the enemy base to be red.

Also, I had this weird ass glitch happen to me today but I fucking forgot to save the film. Do games in your history remain where they are if you change discs or play another game?? Anywho the glitch was this. The host changed in the middle of a match, when the match started up again, I couldn't use my armor ability. The icon wasn't even in the HUD. When I died, it came back.

edit: Also, that idea where you can see everyone in a party in the active roster and not just pre game. I kind of figured that would be in the game but just couldn't make it for the beta. Halo 3 had that with party details and I can't imagine Reach not having that in gold build.
 
Wait, so once you get your Arena rating for the day any Arena matches after that don't contribute to that days ranking? After I got my number, I kept playing more Arena matches and my rating stayed the same.
