Im also very confused as to how the Arena works, trueskill obviously matches you up based on skill, but that would make it harder for good players to get good rankings right? People who are stuck playing pro's will find it harder than people who are playing average players? Urk said that this is taken into account right?

I R Confused.

So I actually tried Arena for the first time yesterday. I feel better knowing that I have a rating between 1400 - 1500, and not the 110 that I thought.

Haha nice, im tempted to try it if a good Dexp comes up, a month of something like Throwback would be bliss :lol. It would be a little empty though, how did you manage to find player, surely not many people did it.

Also, is anyone else getting spammed out with messages because of the NeoGaf montage? I have had so many friend requests and so much hate mail in the last 2 days its unbelievable.

Well you can only change time zones not months lol also its hard but you do find people. Someone should see if the trick still works so we can play invasion early :lol


Also I still get messages becacuse of that stupid armor fusion glitch video I made. I think people on YouTube just like to spam lol.

Its also just gone up on Waypoint, I think thats where most of the people have seen it who are sending me messages. The range of messages makes me laugh, some people are saying I suck and they can beat me at Halo easily, and some are saying im amazing. Thanks to the nice commenting guy's, I love the compliments, but I havent got space on my FL!

The font in the combat log should be a different color and size when you kill someone as opposed to looking like every other line of text that goes through it (slightly larger font would be cool regardless, little small). I know it gives you a medal for almost every kill but some times there is not and you need to squint to see if you got the kill. At least I do on a 32" lcd.

HaloGaf, I come before you humbled and desperate. For 3 days I've been playing the beta, and while I have certainly gotten better, I come out of games with barely a killspread to my name. I rarely ever get a spree. I'm frustrated and destroyed by campers on sword base and don't know how to deal with them, whereas in Halo 3 I would be fairly confident that I could beat a camper so long as I knew where he hid. I cannot handle a power weapon other than the sword and hammer for the life of me. My only consolation is that I usually do fairly well kill wise. It's almost always past 10 kills, which seems to be average, but that I have rarely have a low death count depresses me. Tell me, Halo Gods. How can I improve? How do I learn your ways?

nah thats impossible

besides, if 5 was steel, 4 would be silver, 3 would be gold. 5=onyx makes sense because 4 is one step below (which is gold)

Yeah I was getting around 1550 - 1650 in most games. Tuesdays daily rating was 1704, but that was just a couple of really good games. Arena borked!

Im really scared of playing the Arena today, I have maybe an hour to play Halo between work, and so on my first day I was getting 1550's, played maybe 4 games and had to leave it. Yesterday I got a low 1600, today I could end up with anything, and I wont have the time to improve it.

Im going to tell anyone near my Xbox to avoid the Arena, I dont want a Bronze recorded next to my name for posterity.

With those ratings you'll be Gold or Oynx.
 
Like half of HaloGAF is Onyx, what the fuck? :lol

I am guessing a lot of the public don't have three Dailies yet, because of the mess with the servers on Monday. Maybe that'll redress the imbalance.

Somehow I managed Gold. Once the real players get on, I expect that to sink to Bubblewrap Division.

To be fair we all had a lot more time to get used to the game, I guess the majority of Gaf put many hours into the F+F. :lol

MiloFoxburr, I may be Gold or Onyx now, but after tomorow I wont be able to play the game much, and once Invasion comes out I will want to put my brief Halo time on that, between now and the end of the beta I have no doubt that my score will be rubbish. :lol
