You did. This conversation is about Crucio asking the same question, Trasher calling him out for not reading the thread, and Crucio missing Trasher's quote of my answer to you.A27_StarWolf said:I saw your answer, I thought I even said thanks?
I skim, but have largely ignored the past many hundreds of posts. Mostly chatter about stuff I don't care about (non-Reach or even Halo games, tournament, the Eazy drama, and so on). It's hard to keep up some times, and I've missed stuff myself.Louis Wu said:You did. Good lord. Nobody keeps up these days. GET OFF MY DAMN LAWN.

Bummer there's no BWU for two weeks to change things up.
I know that I'm going to play that playlist a lot, because I'm able to get the assist commendation/challenges finally. Otherwise playing the whole time on unearthed is going to be boring after a while(I guess)GhaleonEB said:BTW, Doubles Attack, via Jeremiah:
The gametypes have not been altered since the last run of Doubles Attack. They are 2X Score Attack, Skirmaggedon, Rocket Attack and FRG Attack.I think Rocket and FRG are highly duplicative, but at any rate, 2X in particular will be a fun way to rack up a whole lotta vehicle kills.
We wanted to do something nice for players who purchased the Defiant Map Pack, focused on Unearthed. It's an encore run of Doubles Attack for Unearthed only.

I hope not. When it is very story based, I do not know everything before the game comes out. (I guess I'm goign into the blackout mode, when 343i or Bungie announces their new game.)Hitmonchan107 said:Why can't Bungie's next game have a colossal information leak like Modern Warfare 3? *sigh*
What a nightmare for IW/Raven/Sledgehammer.

Dang it. That reminds me of my idea for an animated avatar before we got stuck with static images (which I whole-heartedly love, by the way).ncsuDuncan said:How about Customs?
I'll actually be able to play this weekend and I'd love to fill the thread with film clips of Highlands flag runs and screenshots of GAF spartans.

I've not seen that symbol before.
EDIT: An image!
Makes sense. The three prongs could represent the light, ardor, and purity of a seraph.blamite said:Remember those trademarks we found a while back? New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, etc.?
That is most definitely a Seven Seraphs shirt.
Or that. :^) Looks like a P-Wing to me. Bungie/Nintendo crossover confirmed.blamite said:Heh, I was just thinking it looks like a wing.

I'm okay with static images too. I'm happy they switched them when they did, because I was about to make a gif with the gear in my avatar slowly turning. Maybe make the wolf blink on occasion.Hitmonchan107 said:Dang it. That reminds me of my idea for an animated avatar before we got stuck with static images (which I whole-heartedly love, by the way).
Good catch! I agree.blamite said:Remember those trademarks we found a while back? New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, etc.?

I don't have the full account to see the exact details, but Bungie did register a website that begins with the number 7. This is a newer domain registration than the one Supererogatory found in January.ncsuDuncan said:I'm okay with static images too. Hmmm, I might still do that anyways for fun. I've been meaning to try my hand at making a vector version of my avatar/emblem as well.
Good catch! I agree.
The whole "New Monarchy" and "Seven Seraphs" thing makes it sound like they are factions. The logo looks like it could be some kind of space shipping company...

How is this playlist going to help with the assist commendation? I want to work on it, too, but don't understand. Being a vehicle's driver when a gunner gets a kill does NOT add to the assist commendation (despite a lack of a wheelman commendation in FF).Hypertrooper said:I know that I'm going to play that playlist a lot, because I'm able to get the assist commendation/challenges finally.

It's not like that. I can't play normal firefight mm because of my Inet connection.ncsuDuncan said:I think he just means assists are easier to get in Firefight than in Multiplayer.
And it's easier to find one good teammate from your XBL friends and play Doubles Attack than find three XBL friends and play FF Limited or FF Arcade.
Or even worse, attempt to find decent FF teammates in matchmaking (blech).

Yeah, no kidding. Leaks will probably come from Activision closer to release.Hitmonchan107 said:Why can't Bungie's next game have a colossal information leak like Modern Warfare 3? *sigh*

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=60283645&postRepeater1-p=1#60290156#60290156While they may not be used to exclusively highlight new flavor playlists, they are being used to promote playlists which have been recently improved. This can often mean new and improved gametypes.
For example, we made significant changes to Big Team Battle in the last hopper update and last weekend we featured Big Team Battle in the Super Jackpot Weekend, this encouraged players to come check out the changes and see what kind of improvements have been made.
We also made significant changes to Action Sack in the last hopper update, which is why the Super Jackpot Weekend which starts right now is featuring Action Sack for 11,000 credit Super Jackpots.
*ahem* :-bHey You said:Yeah, no kidding. Leaks will probably come from Activision closer to release.
At least Bungie's not with Microsoft anymore or we would get their next game leaked for download.
I just don't understand why Microsoft can't keep their games from being leaked for download. Hasn't every Halo game since H2 been leaked?
Action Sack Super Jackpot weekend starts now!

Kind of silly that the jackpot is worth more than the weekly this time around. But hey, it'll get me to play multiplayer, so there's that.
Dax01 said:So in the middle of Tsavo Highway, I thought to myself, "Why not, for the big, vehicle levels, go through each of them twice? Once the regular way, and the other doing everyone on foot." And so I did.
It takes you a lot longer, but it's definitely doable and a LOT of fun. I just finished Tsavo Highway.
Highlights include:
1. Discovering you can listen in on Covenant radio messages from fallen Phantoms.
2. Whenever you move the huge wire hanging from the destroyed pieces of the New Mombasa Space Elevator, the metal pieces creek and groan. Never noticed that subtle effect.
3. It is awesome, and there is no other way to describe it, when you're surrounded on all sides by Brute Choppers and you're trying to take them all out while dodging out of their way to prevent them from splattering you. This happens at the final vehicle combat area. The one with the huge hill in the middle with the Wraith on top.
Here here.kylej said:if any non scrubs want to carry me for a while tonight so I can get back into the swing of things please let me know thank you in advance
Yup. And it's awesome.Domino Theory said:You can play through Tsavo Highway on foot?! Holy crap.
One of my favorite things to do in Halo games is play vehicle levels without the vehicles. Often, Bungie have thought through the combat for infantry in the event your vehicle is toasted, or if you just want to skip them. I play through every game that way.Domino Theory said:You can play through Tsavo Highway on foot?! Holy crap.
And that was my thought, too. For me it was really hard with vehicles on heroic :[ (I'm a noob.)Domino Theory said:You can play through Tsavo Highway on foot?! Holy crap.
I'm thinking that the only levels in all Halo FPS that can't be done without manual vehicles is New Alexandria and The Covenant(Halo 3 Hornet battle). Am I missing one?Dax01 said:Yup. And it's awesome.
Well, of course I'm going to use vehicles in my on-foot runs when I have to, but otherwise, everything on foot!Crucio said:I'm thinking that the only levels in all Halo FPS that can't be done without manual vehicles is New Alexandria and The Covenant(Halo 3 Hornet battle). Am I missing one?
In Tsavo Highway's case, in the final vehicle battle, you'll find fuel-rod cannons all around the base of the hill.GhaleonEB said:One of my favorite things to do in Halo games is play vehicle levels without the vehicles. Often, Bungie have thought through the combat for infantry in the event your vehicle is toasted, or if you just want to skip them. I play through every game that way.
For instance, Uplift Reserve on ODST is one of those all-vehicle missions. But take it on foot and you'll find rockets, snipers and Spartan Lasers sprinkled around the sides of paths, and some very interesting cover elements and sight lines set up to use them. Likewise, Tsavo's set up enables on foot play very well.
One of my all-time favorite mission runs was Assault on the Control Room, solo, Legendary, 100% on foot.
In Reach, I play almost entirely on foot because the vehicles are poor and the friendly AI, lethal.
So...what were you getting at? Playing vehicle levels on foot requires vastly different tactics. You have to be careful what you bring to the battlefield and how you're going to approach it (should I take out the Wraith first or deal with the Choppers?); each encounter requires a completely different strategy when you're not using vehicles.Domino Theory said:Uh...
I was being sarcastic.

Then I really don't get the point of your post. Tsavo is a very vehicle-heavy mission and someone expressing surprise that it's so playable on foot is reasonable. If you were just doing a random snipe at his post...then I really don't get it.Domino Theory said:Uh...

Replaying missions a different way is fun, and a big part of what makes Halo so great. Why make fun of someone writing about their experience doing that? What's the point?
