Haha This made me laugh. Not because your old though.
Also this PingPong video is amazing. I knew Bungie liked a good game of Pong every once in a while, but holy shit- they are hardcore about it..

Still only getting 60cr per game.
Your doing something wrong. Actually go into Matchmaking and choose the Score Attack playlist.

Edit: Beaten. But anyways, you shouldn't be getting that low of a credit payout in MM unless you're losing all your lives within the first few minutes.

What? I'm pretty sure there are a bunch more.

Halo 1 - The Maw (I don't think you can beat the timer without a Warthog.)
Halo 2 - The Arbiter (Banshee escort)
Halo 2 - The Great Journey (Another Banshee escort)
Halo 3 - Halo (I don't think you can beat it without a Warthog or Ghost)
Reach - Long Night of Solace (If you count the Sabre)
Nice. Man I gotta do a marathon run again, I haven't played through Halo 3 in a long time!

There may be one or two more...

Also, browsing halo.wikia.com I noticed an easter egg posted that I was unaware of before:
830px-IslandCompare.jpg

The final leg of the Warthog run in Halo 3 is around the island from the Silent Cartographer (or at least one the same shape.)

wow, that just blew my mind.

[edit] also, every time i think about that final run in halo 3, i remember some dude on here (i think it was here?) who got it early and talking about it. the only thing he had to say about the last level was "i hope you like orange." at the time i figured he was full of crap, but man... there was a lot of orange.

So there's no way to get decent points in firefight WITHOUT going online?

I was able to net 1000 points on one match, but then only 60 on the next and I'm not sure what I did different. I played on Normal, and was at the last three Elites before time ran out in both cases.

You probably got a challenge.

You might have received a Firefight commendation or a daily challenge giving you the 1000 points in that one match.

Credit gain is significantly low in offline games so yeah, you'll have to go online if you want to make credits.

To add to what others said:

If you have a Gold or Silver account, you cannot earn Commendations or Challenges unless you are in matchmaking. The exception is the "kill X enemies in any game mode" Challenge, and there was one today. So you probably got that.

This is to prevent players from setting up a very easy custom match - invincible, high damage, etc. - and farming credits.

(You can earn Commendations for Campaign offline, on every difficulty except Easy.)

Edit:

Super Jackpot Weekend starts now and runs until Sunday night! Play and complete games in ACTION SACK for a chance to win a daily Super Jackpot of 11,000 credits!

The following playlists are currently offering Double Jackpots all week long!
- THE ARENA
- SQUAD SLAYER
- DEFIANT MAP PACK

AWESOME. You nailed the BWU tone perfectly.
Needs more words and less info (totally kidding). Thanks Dani for filling the void! I actually feel like I can start my weekend now, so I think I will. Beer:30 PM. Much Halo tonight for me and from the sound of it, I won't have to play Action Sack exclusively for a chance to land a bigger jackpot. Thank god.

Fixed bold.

I would've been thinking this

Just did an on-foot run on The Storm. I discovered a new weapon cache I never noticed before. The battle right before the Scarab, the one with the many marines on mongooses with rocket launchers, was not as epic as fun as I thought it would be. Well, less fun than the final vehicle battle in Tsavo Highway. It was a lot of fun, don't get me wrong.

Always enjoyed the Scarab battle on The Storm. You can attack it using vehicles or fall back and using the missiles or take the elevator and hop on the Scarab from there (my preferred approach).

Last week's BWU:

That’s it for this week’s update. In fact, that’s it for this and the next two Friday's worth. My travels will take me far away from this weekly affair, and sadly there’s no one else to sit in my filthy chair and make words for your reading pleasure. I’ll be with you in spirit, though. We’re going to get through this. Together.

Though, we can't exactly get through it together if one of us leaves. The meanie.

All Team Classic needs now is more maps

More maps could be beneficial, sure... but that can be said for any playlist really. What you have to keep in perspective is that we've already put a lot of time and effort towards something that we knew wouldn't be widely popular. We did this to provide a unique gameplay experience, mission accomplished.

I'm not saying we're going to remove it in the immediate future or that we won't make minor tweaks and fixes moving forward, but we're also not going to continue investing large amounts of development time into something that is clearly not of interest to the general population.
smh... The best playlist in the game, and It's being pushed aside just because it has been severely underpromoted and has had a low population as a result.
I'm convinced that a Super Jackpot Weekend for the playlist would do a world of good when it comes to giving it more players.

If you're going to post something like this, you better know something behind the scenes. Excuse me for lacking faith in something that's been clearly shifted 50/50 in positive and negative satisfaction. For instance, much needed and solid update for BTB, only for it be stepped back by a horrible decision to gimp Assault.

Question is, why is/has Team Objective been neglected so much? Things like FF have gotten 2-3 meaty updates, Living Dead has at least gotten one big one, etc., and those things aren't even historic Halo like CTF is. Then again, we saw this story before in Halo 3. Never get updated. Population sails around and before a year even goes by, it's removed.

Changes can be made in one update and push the playlist to be its best, i.e. removal of DS loadout, add more [weighting] Neutral Bomb games to smaller symmetric maps like Anchor 9, Asylum, Countdown, Zealot, and Tempest. Allow Oddball and KotH to thrive more, and less of an appearance for the crummy gametypes like Headhunter and Flag Pro. Add DMR starts to Hemorrhage games, and allow for a Multi-CTF DMR and Neutral Bomb DMR gametypes - this isn't scientific stuff. It's basic things that can vastly improve something in a couple hours of system changes.

I agree, give it the SJW or at least double jackpots for a week. Team classic is the best playlist in the game IMO and it deserves some attention.

On that note if anyone likes to play classic a lot post your GT and I'll friend you.

Well, at least Jeremiah was kind enough to reply to me.
Not at all, in fact I've even mentioned recently that Team Objective is going to be getting attention in the next update. That includes removing entries that don't play as well as we'd like, tweaking objective timers and removing equipment where it makes sense.

Dropshield is going to be removed from all objective gametypes and Armor Lock is going to be removed from objective gametypes in Team Objective, while remaining available in Big Team Battle objective gametypes.
Hopefully detailed out in the near future, and not gimp things like Assault as he did for BTB.

Thanks Ghal- I'm going to take it from that that Sketch is long gone then since usually he would fill in with the update. All signs point to his departure from Bungie, kinda bummed we never got to thank him for all his work with the Community. I hope we can know for sure sometime soon...

I was with you until you called Flag Pro crummy, it's the only flag gametype that has decent flag return times...

I don't mind it overall for bigger maps, but fuck that for 1-flag on Reflection. Why does regular flag not get brought up in Reflection, but Pro? Usually games there turn into grenades instead of guns.

Be still, my beating heart. Re-entering playlist update excitement cycle - Phase One: Hope. Approaching Phase Two: Optimistic Anticipation, and finally dropping off at Phase Three: Disappointment. It's uncanny how much it resembles the famed Sonic Cycle. Hopefully we can skip that last stop this time around (BTB was so close, though).

The June update is going to be huge. Believe.

Might even have some Firefight stuff.
That's good to hear. Combined with Jeremiah's comments above I'm tentatively excited. I just hope that the minutia is all up to snuff, though - that's what killed new BTB for me (Drop Shield in BTB CTF, bad Assault rules, etc).

Oh, and unrelated: I finally ran into that Revenant Forge World glitch I kept seeing you post about. I might have been mistaken, but I was under the impression it only occurred on forged geometry. It happened on three separate occasions smack dab in the middle of Hemorrhage in both a Revenant and a Wraith. They should really get to work on that nasty bug, especially given how likely it is to happen in matchmaking now with the BTB maps.

(on another side note: I'm really sorry for all you guys that were hoping to replace Reach with Brink, the 360 version of that game is totally jacked. Say what you will about Reach, but it's got some of the best netcode around)

Pretty much any game not named Halo/COD is unplayable online, I guess it goes to show how sad the industry is when it comes to simple things like that. That said, the game is pretty sweet when everything works...
