I don't recall the exact description, but glassed just means that the surface of the planet has been super-heated by plasma bombardments and melted such that it takes on a glassy appearance. It looks like molten, shiny rock splashed over nearby plants and structures in that concept art. To me, at least.WuselDusel said:Hm, never saw glassed planets or parts of them before in a Halo game I think. Is there a description how glassed surfaces looks like somewhere? I only read Fall of Reach so far...

That's how MP in Halo 3 was revealed. A vidoc presents a better format to introduce and explain changes than a straight up trailer does. The reveals are likely to be about the upcoming Beta and MP in general for a while now that the campaign reveal is behind us and the Beta is approaching. Here's hoping.EazyB said:Really hope the vidoc reveals the MP portion of the game. That or some new game mode/feature. Campaign will be pretty cool, got it, lets move on.
And glassed environments seem to be a perfect way to convey destruction and make things shinny and pretty. Brown, ruined buildings don't appeal to me atmospherically or from a gameplay standpoint.

My prediction: X10 will have MP footage/beta info.

There will be some stuff coming. Stay tuned.
So his payment is forcing him to play social? I still don't understand why you can't just play ranked, and if you want to play BTB, the lack of a ranked BTB is Bungie's fault, not the inclusion of splitscreen.Trasher said:Referring to this split-screen argument:
Why does someone's opinion like Ram's matter more compared to that of a guest's? Because he actually PAID for the product he is using. Why should his experience be ruined so someone who doesn't pay for the service/console/game can have fun at his expense? Now, I know there are a lot of you that use split-screen a lot, but there are also a lot of people that never use it at all. I'm fine with the people who actually use two gold accounts for split-screen play online, but those who don't have gold accounts don't deserve to use the Xbox Live service in my opinion. They should be limited to playing at LANs or on a single Xbox together. At the very least, keep guests in their own playlist. If it were up to me I don't think they even deserve to have a playlist dedicated for them. Xbox Live should only be for the people who pay for it. That's the bottom line.
I think its just time we moved on from that arguement and get ready for some reach footage.Trasher said:Referring to this split-screen argument:

Guests are having fun, at your expense? Really? This isn't professional sports here for chrissakes.
Can't play ranked if you are in a party of 5 and you want to play a competitive game. And yes, this is Bungie's fault on their playlist design. My point is just that it isn't fair for paying customers to have their service ruined by people who don't even pay anything.Dax01 said:So his payment is forcing him to play social? How do people think its actually fun to have 4 people play on a screen and lag themselves and lag the entire game because they want to play on live. [and I am done]

Oh I know haha. If they are allowed to keep playing on Live for free, then I just hope they have their own "Guest Only" playlist to enjoy with one another. The question is though, how many copies would Bungie lose out on selling if they took this feature out of Reach? I'm guessing not many. Would anyone here not buy Reach if 4 player split-screen was not in matchmaking?Arnie said:Hitler.jpg
Sarcasm. I totally understand your point and feel similar. However, there would probably be an army of super pissed split screeners, ready to tell you how often they use the split screen function and how you've split their universe apart by removing it.
user_nat said:People need to clarify what they are arguing against.
Guests or split screen in general.
Do people who have a problem with guests also not like it when 4 people with gold accounts play on one xbox?
If we want to get into the whole business of who's paying what for what, there's two things wrong with that:Trasher said:Can't play ranked if you are in a party of 5 and you want to play a competitive game. So Bungie needs to either figure out a better lineup of playlists, or they need to remove split-screen from matchmaking.

1. Read my posts please. I said I am fine with people using two gold accounts for split-screen. Just recover your tag or bring your own Xbox and TV over to your friend's.Dax01 said:If we want to get into the whole business of who's paying what for what, there's two things wrong with that:
1. I, a paying customer, could be over at a friends house and we decide to play some Halo online. My friend boots up his account and I sign in as a guest. I've paid for the service, so I should be able to use it as a guest or not. If you want to bring up the whole recovering your gamercard thing, that still presents the same problem accompanied by guests (one quit means you all have to quit).
2. If someone has paid for the service, he/she should be able to use it to its fullest potential. Just because Ram decides not to use one feature does not make it wrong for another person to use that same feature. He paid for it too.
And hopefully it is just that, a reveal (mp!), and not a rehash of what we already know.Major Williams said:I was all for vidocs in the past, but to me, Vidocs do less for me than a trailer - I want to be hyped for the game, hollywood style.
But alas, the Vidocs are the best combination of feature reveal/developer commentary out there IMO.
And so did the person who wants to play split screen with his friends (or in my case, family*).Trasher said:Referring to this split-screen argument:

And you think people signing in with their gold accounts eliminates those problems? Because it doesn't. Having two golds play on the same xbox is the same thing as having a gold and a guest play. There's no difference.2. I never said it was wrong for a person to use the split-screen feature (ie multiple gold accounts). I just think it is shitty that we have people who don't pay a dime for the service/game/console and ruin games by dropping out by either betraying people or just leaving mid-match. By eliminating the ability for people to enter matches with guests means you eliminate all of those games that are ruined by guests. That's the point I am trying to make.
NullPointer said:Maybe Bungie can take the abysmally underutilized Xbox concept of GamerZone and make their own Halo Matchmaking version of it.
Choose Recreation, and rules are relaxed a bit. Guests are welcome, and you can still find ranked games (finding players of your skill level is ALWAYS valuable, not just for the competitive types). Choose Pro if you want a more ultra competitive experience, require decent connection speeds, enforce stricter rules for leaving games early, etc. Choose Family and you'll have more moderated games, maybe stricter communication rules, etc.
Seems that Halo is just so many different things to so many different people that trying to please everybody with the same basic set of playlists just won't work.
