Thanks for the heads up on the podcast and keeping GDC anticipation in check. The trailer delivered so much fucking content it was great. The thing is it also teased so much fans are only left wanting more info (in the form of answers to questions the trailer raised). If it had had half the amount of content by leaving out the mysterious stuff I'd bet fans would actually feel more satiated.

Far Cry 2 was always expected to have an excellent map editor. And for Modnation, the very reason it can have such an extensive suite of features is because it's a "dinky kart racer." Halo is a MANLY game for MEN! Lets be honest: Forge is a tertiary or quadrenary priority at best, behind singleplayer, multiplayer, and maybe even theatre. Don't expect farcry level editors. You will only be let down.
A proper level editor should be of the utmost importance to Bungie. Only if they plan on having a completely inefficient system like Atlas to get them into MM should they not put a shitton of effort into a Far Cry level editor.

That being said, I think it's much, much easier to create and polish something in Forge than the FC2 map editor because Forge is so simplistic. A comprehensive map editor like FC2 had will always be a huge pain in the ass to use on an Xbox controller. Bungie didn't go for that system; they designed something simpler and easier to make fun. I'd much, much rather see Forge with expanded item traits than Far Cry 2 with spartans.
Jesus Christ, you couldn't be serious. Either you haven't spent more than 2 hours in Far Cry's editor or this is some cruel joke post. Couldn't disagree more. It's exponentially easy to go from vision to creation in Far Cry than with Forge. Sure it's easier to place a bunch of random crates around a map in forge but unless you bust your ass to glitch, jimmy-rig, and exploit your way to something respectable your options are extremely limited and the map will be so shitty it won't be worth playing on it to begin with.
Bungie's priority shouldn't be to create a system that every single person can wrap their little minds around. Their goal should be giving their community the tools that will allow for the best maps possible, not a million shitty maps made by people that don't have any business making maps in the first place. Hide advanced options under a menu or something but I want 11 year old kids' heads to blow up when they see how deep the tools for the level editor are. Forge 2.0 would absolutely be the biggest letdown for me in Reach. Halo Level Editor 1.0 or bust, the least they could do is catch up to a 3 year old Ubisoft game.
Again, if this was a joke post a apologize.
