Seriously, this character is worst thing I've ever seen in a Halo game.[/LIST]
I think the idea of his visor being all scratched up like that is pretty sweet. Maybe once we get to know him a little more it won't seem so overdone? I do think they went a bit overboard on all those grenade rounds though. Kinda looks a bit ridiculous.
By the way, I have come to a few conclusions of what we can probably expect at the start of the game, which I am assuming follows shortly after this cinematic. I went back and watched the first trailer, well more like listened, and figured a couple things out after now seeing the new trailer.
So here is what we
know:
After watching the newest trailer we have now been introduced to Noble Team. It is made up of 6 Spartans, and one of which appears to be the player's character (the Lone Wolf). Then there is the commander named Carter, Kat the female Spartan, Jorge, and two other Spartans that we don't have names for yet. At the end of the trailer the Spartans board two flying vehicles that we have never seen before. One of these vehicles is shown containing the Lone Wolf Spartan, Carter, and the sniper Spartan that we don't have a name for yet. It is probably safe to assume that the other three (Kat, Jorge, and the demolition man) are on the second aircraft. Right as both of these new birds take off we hear Kat say "Noble 2 is airborne and set for combat insertion." It is also worth it to mention that this same line is said during the E3 trailer, and kind of ties the two trailers together in a way.
This is where opinions may differ. I am starting to wonder if Noble 2 is what Kat is calling the aircraft she and the other two Spartans are on, OR the call-sign could refer to the second half of Noble Team since they are currently split up. Or the term "Noble 2" could even refer to Kat herself if she is second in command to Carter who would obviously be called "Noble 1." Either way, we know that the Spartan team is divided into these two groups.
So during the E3 trailer we know that communication is lost with what someone calls "Noble 1." Even if Noble 1 doesn't refer to the ship that Carter, Lone Wolf, and the sniper Spartan are on, we can safely assume that it at least refers to Carter or his half of Noble Team. We can then infer that Carter's aircraft ends up crashing by the lines that are said in the E3 trailer: "We're coming in hot." "We just lost our bird." It even sounds like the same voice we hear from Carter in the new trailer.
Going from all of this information I am guessing that the first mission will start after you, Carter, and the sniper Spartan crash onto the surface of Reach and are then separated from the other half of your team. From the E3 trailer we know that Carter says, "This is Sierra 2-5-9. You got Spartans on the ground, sir. We're not going anywhere." So obviously you survive this crash landing, and are now left on the surface of Reach to complete whatever mission it is that you are sent to do. It also sounds like only the one aircraft is shot down. So maybe the other half of the team will have to come rescue you at some point.
Anyways, this is what I have come to gather after watching both trailers again. Maybe I'm wrong and you fly straight for that Covenant ship we see in the sky at the end of the trailer. That would be a kickass mission for sure.
