No, all it says is that the internet loves to complain.
Exactly. Its the same old roundabout and gets extremely annoying. A lot of the time its peeps with agendas, we all do it. I'm guilty of it in the past and I'm trying to better myself

Have neither of you read the posts in this thread? There are people that grew up with Halo split screen campaign being a big thing between them and their family or friends. Is it so hard to imagine the removal of this feature being a big blow to them?
'Antiquated late 90s feature'; 'has not impact in the overall quality' are hugely insulting and devoid of any context whatsoever. We should all be online and not have any actual face to face interation with real people I guess?
I completely understand if you see no value in that feature, but you don't get to decide what is or isn't objectively valuable for everyone else.
I've been with Halo from the beginning. I care. I mean I'm not going to rip my shirt and fall to my knees in despair over this, but it was a nice feature that a lot of us appreciated having there.I would argue that the people that have been with halo from the beginning would be the ones that don't really care.
you'd think that the more powerful the consoles get, the easier it should be to render multiple views at once. shows how fucked up the industry's priorities are.

Is that the thing we are going to get? I also want another Halo that features Halo 1-size levels and arenas....but if Halo 4 is any indicator then they are not heading that way.I want a massive over the top halo campaign. 343 wouldnt just pointlessly cut a feature like this. Its almost 100% due to time vs the vision they have for the campaign. I am fine with trading split screen for giving the campaign giant interactive levels with more A.I & whatever else. I have always wanted a bigger campaign out of halo.
Really is unfortunate how much discussion this is getting vs the amazing other news :/

Kids don't go to each others houses to play games anymore. They log in to play online together.
Well equally, I don't think there's a strong case for what you're saying either. You say people aren't bothered/upset but you only have to skim through the posts in this thread to see that people are considering not getting the game because of this. The fact this thread is much longer than the one talking about the 'amazing' new features says it all really.
it's literally the ONLY way i've played halo. i'm not a big enough fan to play them solo, and not interested in competative MP. couch co-op with my best friend was some of the most fun gaming experiences of my life... same for gears of war. if that too has no split screen i'll be equally as pissed off.
That does not mean that path A and B are not corridors. We will see...The GI article discusses changes made to the game like branching paths in the campaign and multiple ways to complete your objective. I think it's fair to say H4 won't be a good indicator.
Are you seriously using post counts from 2 neogaf threads as evidence for your argument?
Mmmm, I'm not so sure it gets easier when you consider what is being drawn.you'd think that the more powerful the consoles get, the easier it should be to render multiple views at once. shows how fucked up the industry's priorities are.
Holo lense and/or VR support in Halo 5 confirmed.Yes but it's gaf so this thread is actually much longer than the news one.
Anyway yes, it's a bummer but 60fps had to take precedence. It's not just aesthetics- the entire simulation is built on that framerate.
They don't know what they're missing.
Couch co-op feels so much better than any kind of online co-op.
Sure, the small screen is a bit meh but as long as the game's good, it is a minor thing.
(Naturally local LAN is as good, and perhaps even better but not many have TVs for everyone, and transporting them is unfeasible.)
I fully intended to do at least one full playthrough with the fiancé (by then wife) ¯\_(ツId like to know how many people complaining about the removal of split screen coop actually intended to play the game split screen.
I'm sitting here, cold-sober, contemplating buying a second XBONE for the bedroom.Doesn't bother me, everyone is online now. Being an adult it's easier finding time slots to play with a friend online; it doesn't require travel and booking a whole evening. Just send a text and ask if they wanna meet up online and play for an hour or two!
Some responses here, it can't be that hard to differentiate the free maps and what not from a now missing feature and it shouldn't be that hard to understand that this does not make the situation better in any shape or form for people that do not care about free stuff as it doesn't help the issue.
What if I told you just as many people don't play online.Of course some are disappointed but this is a natural evolution, everyone plays online nowadays.

remember when halo was a thing

I get that it's not a big deal to some folks and that's fine, but I don't understand why they have to be so dickish about it. This isn't directed at you in particular, but we have people accusing others of not being "true fans, having "fake agendas," or being childish whiners. I mean, really?
remember when halo was a thing
No. Just using it to point out there are clearly a lot of people who want the feature to remain in the game, while you believed the opposite.
Not sure if super serious? This doesn't add to the discussion.
With the massive sales of halo 4 and the good legs of MCC, not to mention the huge halo OT here on GAF, I would say halo is without a doubt still a thing.
I'd say 75% of my Halo experience has been couch co-op with friends. I was going to buy a Xbone for Halo 5 with one of the main attractions being able to hang out and play with my roommates/friends. Oh well.
Everyone poo-pooing couch co-op really needs to give it a go. It is objectively better. My friends and I still go through the hassle of doing LAN parties.
Things have to move on. I bet way more people would want more maps than a shitty split screen experience.
God when will the whiners of the internet ever grow up.
Total bullshit, me and my fiance have beaten every halo game in split screen co-op. im not buying another fucking xbox so we can beat it together again.
But dont forget, they was all shit experiences...
If you don't have an Xbox One, don't even know whether achievements are checked like, why are you even in the thread arguing?
nah man, we love playing them together, usually beat them in 1 day, on easy of course. and on top of that i probably play a good 50 mp matches with a friend on online split screen.
Not sure if super serious?
This does make me wonder, when whomever show cases the new call of duty and Battlefront, will the split screen in those games be made more of a bigger deal?
We will find out more in less than a week though.
"Hey just buy another console!!!"
Piss off!!! Some of us still like direct human contact!!!
Split-screen Halo can also lead to sex.
