I don't even see how this point could be argued. All you have to do is watch A Life In Pictures and see a cavalcade of directors all saying into the camera that Kubrick influenced them.

If what you meant was that nobody since has ever managed to quite reach the high bar he set, maybe...

That is what I mean,

So damn diverse. I can not pinpoint a single direct influence. Every single one of his movies is so damn studied and perfect.

And again: Barry Lyndon is his masterpiece. So damn cool it is wildly available. New film kids have is so easy with everything at reach!
