Only been banned once. Juniors, take heed: asking HOW to find scans is in the same ballpark as asking to POST them.

And shame about Dax possibly being perma'd.

Also, cyan, please tell use why dax was banned, I can't believe it's a perm, dax was awesome.

I got a six-month ban once from some fucking asshole who is no longer a mod here for a completely normal post in the November 2009 NPD thread. I almost never came back because the ban was so ridiculous.

No. It was some Japanese name. Anyways, there had been apparently a lot of fanboy posts in the thread saying the only reason the Xbox 360 sales were so high was because of the mass console bans they did from people playing pirated versions of Modern Warfare 2.

This dude made a directive on some random page in this fast-moving thread that if anyone even said that anymore, they were gone for six months. Wasn't added to the OP.

I popped in and said, "Damn, I wonder how many of the Xbox 360 sales were from people who got their console banned?" He banned me for six months and the ban message said, "Didn't see the post? Sorry. Get your PS3 fanboyism out of this thread, asshole."

I didn't even fucking own a PS3 at the time.
 
I'm pretty sure I got banned once for insulting someone. I remember thinking it was worth it at the time. Also people in a community thread missed me for that week or two, which was nice.

Those are the worst bans, I got the same for like a month(might have been three) for a random post in a random thread.

One was for calling Olivia Wilde a smug bitch (in retrospect, this was stupid lol) in the football thread. It was a satire, dammit! :(

A week-long ban for that. a hard week :(


The other one...I can't even remember now. Was pretty recent though iirc.
 
I got banned once for posting a pic of a barrel in the Smash Bros dojo thread on a day where the update was late. People were crazy in there.

Also got banned for, iirc, "various degrees of concentrated stupidity" after a few harmless joke posts taken seriously, apparently. I had not posted in more than a day or two at the time of the ban, and that along with the shitty reason made me wonder who was the stupid in this case.

Maybe I have some weird humor actually.

Definitely sounds like Dragona, since she would often make such threats in threads - which is why there were so many graveyard threads as loads would miss the post threatening bans and stumble into a ban. Plus she's the only older mod I can think of to have a japanese sounding name (Dragona Akehi wasn't it?) and a space.

Never been permanned, though I did ask to be banned a few times.
Speaking of people who permed and come back I really wish the powers that be would consider unbanning Acebandange, pretty sure what happened didn't deserve the perm, how often do people look back on what they linked?
If I remember right he got banned for having a post with an image that later showed something of a sexual nature.

Oh, what happens if a person who uses an alt. account later shares his PSN/Steam ID?

He tried the icecream and didn't like it so much... but I'm still here :3
 
I don't remember but we were arguing about stupid shit like anime conventions or nerds or some crap. And I may have gotten him banned so I do want to apologize to my friend Amir0x
 
So yeah, I was permed in October for about a week and a half when I mouthed off to EviLore in the c-word-gate thread. Some good people with red names argued on my behalf and I got an email saying that I was back in.

I've always been a forum-goer of one kind or another, but the feeling of never being able to post again and the reactions to me being banned made me realize how important GAF was to me.

Well, I know a few ... Well one guy who was Perma banned and now he's moonlighting under an alt account. Although not very subtle.
