Hatsune Miku Project Diva series general discussion thread

Thanks for everything, samfree.

Full stream recording was here.

Via Famitsu (via Gematsu) we have a peek at more songs in Project DIVA X's roster:

“Ai no Uta” (LamazeP)
“Lost One no Goukoku” (Neru)
“Mrs. Pumpkin no Kokkei na Yume” (Hachi)
“Tsugihagi Staccato” (Toa)
“Nounai Kakumei Girl” (Maretu)

This was basically guaranteed, but it's still my most anticipated song. Need pictures ASAP.

It's going to be Ai Dee for Mitchie M, if for no reason other than to have enough Luka songs.

Any predictions for the rest? It wouldn't be too hard to put the list of the remaining producers together with some guesses.

This is my prediction as well, even though I'd like to see Viva Happy more. All the Mikus.

Burenai Ai De please.

I wonder if being used for an ad campaign would hurt its chances. Love this song too. Really any new Michie M would be great.

Okay, a running list would probably be convenient. Plus Youtube links, and a few predictions (just the safest ones for now).

That's three Luka songs accounted for, assuming Ai Dee is in.

I'm sure there are other safe predictions, but this is starting to delve into unfamiliar territory for me. Also, quite a few names on here are really hard to figure out unless you assume that there will be a rehash of an old song or a completely new song.

The 10/22 Weekly Diva Station update details some of the new systems in Project DIVA X and gives us a first look at the songs we already knew were coming.

There are five Elements in the game which represent both areas in Live Quest and the types of songs in the game. They are Neutral, Cute, Cool, Beauty, and Chaos.

When playing in Live Quest mode, quests are cleared by building Voltage. You can increase the rate of Voltage by equipping matching modules and accessories.

You can also set specific skills, like Rare Module Up or Technical Rate Up.

I read somewhere that every single song video will be done as a "stage" performance this time, due to the new "live performance" gameplay elements. Looks like these screenshots are confirming that.

What? Stage Performance videos are ok but all of them should not be that. I love my choreographies along with the neat stories in the videos.

I wonder why iOS hasn't seen a proper Hatsune Miku release. Miku Flick is about the closest but pales in comparison to the Vita or DS releases. You'd think with both mobile and Hatsune being sensations in Japan it would be a no brainer...

As of tonight, even Groove Coaster 2 has added a licensed Hatsune Miku song pack. So that's one more.

Not only one package. They have 4 song packs with songs that came out of Nico Nico. Quite a few of them are Miku songs only. There's a pack with only Wowaka's songs

...God damn it, I really want to buy them. You guys had to say that and I had to download the game.

Wow. I haven't really played these games before, but my gf and I tried out the Future Tone cab this weekend a couple times, and we both really enjoyed the game. Looking forward to the PS4 release. Is it still going to have a ridiculous number of songs on console on release, or was that a crazy rumor?

I am loving Miku on both 3DS and Vita/PSP. However, with the PS3 versions, I cannot seem to get the timing down precisely enough with my Sony LED TV set to game mode.
I've tried the calibration tools and they seem to suck.
Any tips? I am getting better so I can hit Excellent with most songs on the handhelds (in Normal mode) but struggling with the PS3 version (both F and F 2nd). I am afraid to buy the PS4 version due to my timing issues.

From my experience the calibration option only affects the video output, not the audio output. So if your audio equipment adds a lot of lag you can't do much about t (TVs tend to add quite a bit of audio lag).
For example I use the analogue a/v connector of my PS3 to send an analogue audio signal to my HiFi set. This eliminates all audio lag for me, where as before (when I used my TV) the game was pretty much unplayable.

+1 to this, if anyone is looking for a solution.

There's no lag sending a digital signal via HDMI through my telly and to the speakers if I use the optical connection, but if I use analogue L/R stereo cables from the telly to the speakers there's significant lag. I guess the TV needs to convert it from digital to analogue and that takes time? I dunno.

Sending audio directly from the PS3 works great, though. You can elect to only send audio through the a/v port on your PS3 and still run picture through HDMI.

It would be great if PDX/Arcade exposed settings for calibrating audio and video lag independently. Offering one but not the other always seemed strange to me.

Or they could do like RB/Guitar Hero do it, and use a microphone (like the DS4 mic input) to auto-calibrate the audio.

I started playing Project Mirai DX last week and a few minutes ago, cleared all the tracks on Normal. It's a bit easier than the Diva games but still was a ton of fun. The graphics look fantastic for the 3DS, too.

Until it appears in the dev blog, I'm treating it as one producer's desire and not the actual release strategy.

As far as any concrete info on the game is concerned, I fall into this same camp. I'm eager to hear something more about the aspects of the game's release from Sega soon.

Some magazine leeks for DIVA X today. Songs coming up:

  • メドレー(ニュートラル)「はじまりのメドレー ~プライマリーカラーズ~」(OSTER Project)
Seems this is a medley of 「恋スルVOC@LOID」,「Dreaming Leaf -ユメミルコトノハ-」,「フキゲンワルツ」, and「ミラクルペイント」.
  • 「ウミユリ海底譚」(n-buna)
  • 「ストリーミングハート」(DECO*27)
  • 「Amazing Dolce」(ひとしずく×やま△)
  • 「すろぉもぉしょん」(ピノキオピー)

I see what you did there.

That being said, I don't recognize any of those songs, so I look forward to hearing them when I get the game.

I suppose this series is not popular enough in the West to get localization announcements before its Japanese release....

I think Diva F 2nd's localisation was announced like the day before the Japanese release.
I remember being pissed about it because I tried to cancel my import pre-order but the website I had ordered it from said it was too late.

I can't seem to find 「Amazing Dolce」(ひとしずく×やま△)anywhere, but ストリーミングハート sounds amazing (really nice pv) and すろぉもぉしょん and the Oster medley seem great too. Always up for more miracle paint.

ストリーミングハート is Streaming Heart, as widely predicted for the Deco*27 track. Unfortunately my Youtube link last page is now region-locked.

Amazing Dolce seems to be Meiko, Rin and Len? It would have to be a new song, with that combination of vocaloids.

I was seriously listening to Conti New earlier today and thought "Huh, Streaming Heart should be in a Project Diva game." And I got my wish apparently.

I'm kind of hoping they play the song at the Miku Expo concert next year in Toronto.

It's a huge song and is probably guaranteed for the concerts at some point, but it's probably not going to be in Miku Expo before it gets played at Magical Mirai first (and it wasn't in last year).

However, if every song in Project Diva X is strictly a stage performance, the goal is probably to generate more material for the concerts faster. We can probably expect more songs from the games showing up live.
