I tried to check out the Miku demo at Sony's Morpheus booth, but they wouldn't let us pick the demo we wanted to play so I had to do an extremely terrible Harmonix music sample VR experience instead, RIP.

Still managed to watch an external video of it and was pretty impressed, though I would imagine it could get very boring. You're not playing a game, you're fixed in place at the "concert", and while waving around a Move controller like a glowstick is a funny gimmick I could also imagine that becoming tiresome. It is amusing waving it through Miku's face while she's doing dances though.

I would recommend into turning such a thing into a full Project Diva 3D VR game or allowing full free movement during concerts otherwise the appeal will be short lived. The AR items from the Vita games were cool but still one-offs for the same reason.

That it was! I was really happy to be there and see it in person.
...
Let me do it intentionally then!

Mostly flying in from Austin which is a bit of a big cost. I think I'll just buy anyways and give my ticket to someone else if I can't go.

The Hatsune Miku facebook page posted dates for Magical Mirai 2015 in September. 4-6th. It'll be at Nippon Budokan, which will look a lot more impressive than the weirdly school gym-esque arena for Mirai 2014 in Osaka.

I just wish I could click "join" in addition to "like" on the event. :( :( :(

I was lucky when I went to Japan that I was chosen for the pre-sale lottery for Magical Mirai 2014 in Osaka, daytime performance

Now I think I'm even more lucky that they messed with the credit card number by mistyping it when I wrote it in the form to apply for the Magical Mirai 2015 presale lottery, because they offered me to buy 2 tickets for the september 4th performance:

So please don't kill me for my good luck! (^_^;)

So I just found out I am unable to play all those amazing japanese edits for pdf2nd while using english verison of the game. Is the same applicable for the pdf? Is there anyway we can make some noise for sega to change their minds? The edit mode is dead in the west. Any edit recommendations?

Yes, edits are region specific in DIVA f/F as well, although people have had success porting over f/F edits by modifying the file (which still requires the Japanese version of the game to download the edit in the first place). F 2nd additionally changed the format of the edit file to accommodate extended lyrics, which makes the edit data incompatible across regions.

Thanks. This is a day of revelations. Just found out that the arcade version of game changes the voice of singers for all the songs? depending upon the module choice. Is the arcade running the actual vocaloid softwares or all tracks pre rendered?

Weekender Girl Luka is my new favorite track.

That video is a bit misleading - it's fanmade. The audio is not from the game.

Voice-switching was introduced with Project Mirai for certain songs only, and to the extent that Arcade has voice-switching it's only for songs ported from Mirai. The vast majority of songs have no alternate vocals.

And, yes, all the music in the games is prerecorded.

Are any of the PSP Diva titles worth playing if I played Diva F and F 2nd on Vita and loved them? I currently have a Vita on JP PSN and I think I want to get at least one of them.

The text is in English, hmmm, hopefully it releases at the same time in all regions

E: do we know if the 3939 is minutes or seconds?

Since the timer starts 06:21 I think it makes sense if it's minutes so it stops at a full hour. If my brain isn't letting me down it'd be a.. three day wait, I think?

After 91+ tries, retries not counted, and months of on and off play i've finally cleared SMF without help items

If I were to die now my soul would be at peace

Is anyone else hoping that the new PS4 game will be 60 fps?

I really think it would make the game even better.

Definitely. I'm also holding out hope that the PS4 version will have a more Future Toney look to it, at least on the stages. It's probably not gonna happen, but it'd be neat.........

Umm... wow.

May god help us all if an arcade controller doesn't get made.for this game (or the previous controller for PS3 doesn't work)

I would not even entertain the idea of using the DIVA F controller for this. The touchpad is the wrong shape and position and the controller does not send multitouch data. This is in addition to the fact that it is a PS3 controller and you'd need LabZero-level hijinks to get it working on PS4.

Just read about Project Diva Arcade Future Tone coming out for PS4 as a downloadable game on Japan's PSN.

I'll be in Japan for vacation in late November, gotta make a note to pick up a pre-paid Japanese PSN card while I'm there.
