It took them this long and it's still a cut down game like the original? I thought they were going full speed ahead with a full blown AAA experience but considering MS is only charging $50, we know it's not going to be that. MS would be charging $70 if they could get away with it. Disappointing for sure. Also, where's Fable?

Graphics look nice, but this game looks like such a drag to play. The first one felt like a chore, so bleak and depressing. Hard pass.

Graphics look great, hopefully gameplay and combat are better than in the first game which was frankly boring to play. The first game was a lot of pressing up on the stick, cutscenes, some of the most braindead combat I've ever experienced, and puzzles that pale in comparison to toddler's toys in terms of complexity.

They say it plays differently, but that doesn't always mean improved.

this showed nothing new, confirmed short, digital only and $50. Disappointing tbh
Regarding length, what were you and others expecting? Did you play the first one? It was probably only 6 to 8 hours long.

My bugbear is the price. I'll pay $30 for a 6 hour game; possibly even $40. But $50 is a hard no.

what a surprise! ninja theory once again going on endlessly about a game that they're still only showing tiny bits of! hey, i know! how about, instead, simply let a few uninterrupted minutes of the damn game speak for itself?...

Why some of you expected a completely different game from the first one? "walking sim" "no gameplay" bla bla bla. Its definitely not for you then. Games like this has a place, just like the Order or Ryse. Its okay not to like these type of games, some of us do

I enjoyed the 1st a lot and it still looked great.

I'm pumped but I always wasn't expecting a giant AAA open-world action game lol

I am pleased for the exact reason that some people are hating it - it's going to be a small, linear and more intimate experience. Just like the first game. I was concerned that now Ninja Theory are a bigger studio with Microsoft dollars backing them, this sequel would try to be a rival to God of War in scale. Very happy this is not the case.

Those of you saying you're glad to have 8hr games again, sure. I love shorter games like the old days too but during the ps2 days it was almost all gameplay. This is probably going to be 2-3hrs of actual gameplay. I really hope they improved/changed the combat in some way.

I have little confidence in this game at this point, but it's nice that we got a date at least.

Kinda disturbing the way they talk about psychosis as if its some sort of superpower.

Its not a "special way of experiencing the world" its a mental illness characterized by perceptual delusion.

The whole angle they're taking is that important people in history could have just been psychotic. No one understood mental health back then so they could have been seen as prophets, shamans or who knows what.

And they'd more likely have been treated like outcasts, heretics, and fools. Being delusional at any other point in history than now would likely have led to an untimely death.

Also given shamanic traditions and their place in pre-industrial societies its far more likely psychotic/psychedelic episodes were largely a result of ceremonially imbibing hallucinogens, which is not the fucking same as being a chronic sufferer of a mental dysfunction.

Sorry, but I find it offensive.

Well thats your right. I'm an atheist so hearing about prophets who heard god talking to them makes me think of mental illness. Some of these people are persecuted and some were extremely influential (or both).

Im so down to play it but my issues are as follows

-wtf is up with the fish eye camera shit

-too much damn chromatic aberration

-this game is about to be 6 hours long

Well, there's no new tech in it: it's a showcase of UE5 engine features and libraries. The only thing from Ninja Theory is the art direction, which have always been great.

Naw, that's not really fair. This isn't just off-the-shelf UE5 (in fact, some elements don't seem to operate like UE5 can, in a negative manner IMO, but I'll get into that elsewhere...) Developers put a lot of work in even though they've got great tools to build upon from engine providers. Developers of this caliber write a ton of custom tech for their project and use licensable engines as a foundation or framework rather than as a box of building materials.

I don't think the story is going to go anywhere after the resolution at the end of the first game. I don't think it's going to be as impactful and the sequences we see are getting shorter and less impactful each year.

This video didn't show shit, what little they did just looks like a boring version of god of war with nicer faces. The only impressive thing was the fly over footage that i thought was in-game but it was just Iceland drone footage.

Liked the first one, this one looks great from snippets. It made me laugh when the guy mentions a new combat system and they barely show it.

I like Ninja Theory but since that cave monster gameplay a while ago the restrictive nature of them showing this game has been frustrating
