10 minutes maybe? How long will it take me to learn iOS? Android seems so intuitive, while iOS is more obtrusive. Obviously, the majority disagree with me.
What about a Nexus 6?
Went from an iPhone 4 to a Note 2, then Note 3, then decided to jump back to iOS with an iPhone 6 Plus after finding out that Apple has introduced extensions and third party keyboards.
Maybe those features aren't mature enough (for instance, I fuckin LOVE how in Android, you can share or open any image in practically any app that supports it.) and maybe I'm too much of a poweruser (I like to switch between different photo editing apps to take advantage of features that each app does very well. VSCO to me allows for better exposure adjustment than say, Litely or Instagram. But more often than not, bringing up Safari in the middle of editing a photo with those apps meant that the third or fourth last used app gets rebooted; any edits I made in that app is gone).
Traded my iPhone 6 Plus for a brand new Note 4. Couldn't be happier.
10 minutes maybe?
In terms of UX design and intuitiveness, iOS stands head and shoulders above any Android skin.
Whatever. Samsung just updated the Note 2. Give me a break with this sensationalist nonsense.Get the iPhone and you will be happy even two years from now.
If you go for the Samsung, you will be kicking yourself in 10 months since they will release a new version and stop supporting yours because fuck you. That's Android and that's Samsung.

Narrowed it down to those to. Do like Samsung, even if the specs are inferior.
To be frank, I am not a power user like you. What would you say then, since you used both phones.
This post hurts my brain
---
I personally find the two phones pretty bad, one of them is hideous and seems not very well thought while the other... well... it's Samsung.
I'm of the opinion that people should try everything in their life but i really don't want to suggest the iPhone6+... soooo... the iPhone 6? Or a Windows Phone if lack of apps isn't a problem.
Get the phone with the most resale value first that way if you don't like it and it's past the return period you can sell it back for close to its retail price
Get the 6+
My wife doesn't.
She just moved back to Android after having a iPhone for a year, says how much easier everything seems on Android
I've been very happy with my iPhone 6 Plus. I also have a Nexus 7 in case I feel like using Android. If you have a MacBook or an iMac, definitely get an iPhone for continuity/handoff. That alone is worth it for me. You also get Apple Pay, which is convenient as well.
I think that if you're used to even something as basic as sharing media between apps, you'll find that iOS can be quite limited. It'll probably be a while before you're able to select an image in iOS' Photos app and send it to your friend on Whatsapp from there.
The lack of certain features didn't really bother me that much in the three months I've used an iPhone 6 Plus. But what tipped over was when I found out that the Note 4's camera is much MUCH improved over it's predecessor's, maybe on par with the 6 Plus (in my opinion, it's exceed's the latter due to larger megapixel count - I like as much detail in my photos as possible - and the bigger aperture for the front-facing camera). I had just assumed the camera in the Note series was never gonna come close to an iPhone. I guess that changed with their latest offering.
But really though, how familiar are you with iOS? You'll probably be able to know beforehand what Android-specific features you're gonna miss when you switch. Question then becomes how much you're gonna miss them, even the basic features.
I read that 6+ has a more accurate sceen? If you care about color accuracy, go with the Note 4, its screen is currently the most accurate out of all smartphones.

What phone is she using?
Nexus 5
You should get the Lumia 1520. If you don't mind a few less apps, it's a beast of a phone, will last forever, and has the best camera of all of them.
I am not familiar at all with iOS. I only know there is one button and everything is touch based. Does it have copy past mechanics lol? What about task manager?

Thanks...Nexus seems to be coming up a lot. I was tempted to buy an invite for the OnePlus One, though.
I commend this post.In this thread: standard Android vs IOS debate. OP, how about you choose for yourself instead of relying on strangers to make your $600+ decision?
They are both capable phones with great ecosystems. Go play with each for a half an hour or so: which did you find yourself enjoying more? Buy that one.
heard good things about Apple Pay. Where is that accepted now?
Also guys, I do not like phones to have cases (only screen protectors); will the 6+ bend in the pocket?
I've used the Nexus 5 for the past year, now I'm on the Nexus 6.
Really don't think I could go back to non-stock android
Whatever. Samsung just updated the Note 2. Give me a break with this sensationalist nonsense.
I currently have a Moto G Second Generation... I had a Nexus 4, then a Nexus 5... I got my Moto G Second Generation because I wanted all my music on a microSD card... so, I'm very familiar with Android.
Honestly, if I were you, I would wait until the 64-bit processors are widely available. Yesterday they announced the first Android phone with the new Qualcomm 810 64-bit processor. It was the LG Flex 2. It is a beast of a phone, but I just don't like phones with heavily modified Android.
I feel like we JUST had this thread.
It boils down to which ecosystem you prefer. I went Android -> iOS -> Android, and I'm here to stay. I just prefer the flexibility of an Android device. My anecdotal situation:
I read a lot of digital comics. The files transfer over to my phone with a simple drag and drop AND never run into issues when opening and reading them. The same can be said with any digital movie/TV show I have. I just drag it over to my phone and can watch it. If it's a weird file type, there's something on Android that will allow me to watch it. I also love having access to a file explorer directly on my phone. It's like using Windows Explorer.
The Note 4 and 6+ are great devices, you just need to determine what sort of flexibility you want and what ecosystem you want to invest in.

Anywhere NFC payments are accepted. For official support, the list is here:

As someone who doesn't like cases or screen protectors, I was afraid of bending issues as well. However, I am pleased to say that not of that has happened to me (at least) and I put my 'naked' phone on my front left pocket all the time. I have also noticed both the front and back are very scratch resistant.
Hey OP, if you're still interested in the One plus One. I sent you my last invite via PM. Great phone and much cheaper.
Why what?Why?
Honestly, I am looking to make the purchase today.
That's the thing, I see positives to both phones and just need to filter it down to what I want exactly.
I am not relying, but looking for informed opinions from others. Ultimately, the decision is mine, but I do appreciate everyone that offers bits of information.
Awesome; thanks.
That would be awesome! I've been looking at it, but the fact it's hard to buy kinda turned me off. Worst comes to worse, I'll tell you if I don't buy it.
Lovin my new LG G3.
Why what?
Real talk - do you honestly see yourself caring about using a File Explorer, transferring/reading lots of media, or wanting to customize the shit out of your phone? If so, go with the Note 4.
Are you a huge mobile gamer always wanting to be on the up-and-up with the latest and greatest releases? If so, go with the 6+.
Are you a huge Google user that uses Gchat, Gmail, G+, etc? Note 4
Do you have a lot of friends on iOS to make use of iMessage? Do you CARE about Google integration? 6+ works here.
You won't be unhappy with either phone. But you need to decide which aspects of each phone you care about. Nobody can really tell you one way or another. Decide which features are MOST important to you, tell us, and we'll direct you accordingly.![]()
Yo op i strongly suggest you to stay away from the one plus one if you want to have a nice android experience, the company is shady as fuck the os experience might come with problems and they could actually send you a refurbished phone instead of a new one
