We need to see this on the big screen. See how the tones look.
I think that would have clashed with the tone of that movie. It's more the tone I would want, but clearly not where Marvel wants to go.

They got the cape length and size of S symbol right. The suit looks more "alien". A modern/realistic version while still maintaining the classic Superman suit.

Kind of wish they had elaborated on the Donner version of Krypton. Always felt it was the most mysterious one.

Warming up to the suit. Though it kind of seems like the implication is that it's still underwear for their more regal costumes, ironically, despite all the attempts to remove the overt "briefs over pants" look.

Singer suit looks better in every way, aside from the size of the S shield.
Cavill is still a bit short looking for Superman, but he's a good actor. I have faith in him. Snyder, much less so.

How does the Singer suit look better in every way besides the S shield? It's got a plastic belt with the S logo on it, fruit rollup cape material and the red is maroon. All I see is a Halloween costume now when I look at it.
Cavill is 6 ft 1 and I'm sure with camera tricks etc it won't matter on screen. He can act around Routh so that's all that matters.
It's better to have no faith in Snyder at this point, cause most had faith in Singer and look how Returns turned out. At least we know Superman will throw a punch in this movie.
Honestly the grey suit that was cut from the movie was better than the actual Superman suit.

They all have one thing in common -- an interesting premise wasted on too much family drama. Looking at you Falling Skies and Terra Nova.

Should've been clearer, wasn't talking about Thor or even Loki, had his team in mind when I posted that. Their costumes were just so plastic-feeling unlike Thors.
Sif's shield looked like it was made out of plastic and would be completely useless in battle. I agree with you on that point.
Yup, Singer suit looked super good when those guys were beating the hell out of Superman and dragging him through mud.

I tried finding the black suit from Lois & Clark on google images but couldn't find a clear shot to post (for comparison to the Routh shot above). Guess there aren't as many fans of that show as I thought. I liked that show until Lois found out Clark was Superman. Next season she got a haircut, stopped being hot and the show began to fucking suck.
